Scary Hot by K.D. Robichaux is part of the Until Series and is also book #6 in the Club Alias series. I have not read any previous books in this series and was fine reading this one. The book, Until July, by Aurora Rose Reynolds features Wes and July. This book is about both of their best friends, Z and Kayan. The timeline of both books runs simultaneously. You don’t need to have read Until July to be able to enjoy this.
July and Kayan have been best friends since childhood. Kayan had parents that were worried only about how high the social ladder they could climb. But behind closed doors, they had no room for their daughter. But her friendship with July got her through. They vowed early on that they wanted to take care of animals for a living. So July became a veterinarian and Kayan was her business partner and office manager. They were also prone to get in to trouble together, such as the night that they were on a particular adventure where they ran into July’s boyfriend and his best friend, Z. That’s the first time Kayan ever saw him and she was instantly smitten.

Z and Wes are in a motorcycle club and also work at their garage. Z has never been in love, has never even thought of a woman in any kind of long term way, until he met Kayan. It was instant and it was strong, this pull he felt to her. Now all he has to do is keep her safe long enough for them to explore this thing that is between them.
I enjoyed this. Z was all the things I love in a Hero, sexy, all alpha/jealous/possessive/growly. There was one thing in the beginning that I never figured out or missed the explanation to.
As Z and Kayan get closer, she finds in his family what she was missing in hers all her life. That close, loving bond. But hurts from her past still bring back insecurities that keep her from trusting him completely. Z is in this, though, and will do whatever it takes to make sure his woman knows how much she is loved.

When I first met Z and Kayan in Until July, I thought I knew where their story was headed but when Ms. Robichaux got ahold of it, she really took it to a whole other level. I love that while we get the alpha, possessive males we’ve come to love from the ARR world, we still get something that is very much in the author’s own voice and style. The scenes that crossed between stories were incorporated seamlessly. Quite impressive actually.

Z and Kayan were sexy. 🔥 Their chemistry really stood out. I love how Kayan was both soft and fierce. She complemented Z. I loved how he showed her that family is what you make it. There was quite a bit packed into the page space but it felt just right.
”Shy little kitten knows her way around a gun. Makes me wonder if it’s only the metal kind, or if she can handle the flesh and blood kind.”
Overall, this was a sexy read that touched on many of those alpha loving buttons. I will definitely be on the lookout for the rest of the ‘Happily Ever Alpha’ family.

Finally, Kayan and Z's story!
I always liked the book Until July and have always thought the author should write about July's best friend, Kayan, and Wes's best friend, Z, since both romances happen at the same time. I really like how this author really covers all the gaps about Kayan and Z's romance like the whole X getting shot and why Kayan wanted to follow Z because she thought he was cheating on her. I was pretty impressed with the level of detail and research this author put into this book so that the readers off Until July would be satisfied!

This is a first read by this author the book is a first but I have read and love all the Until Series ones that this didn't feel new to me.
This is the story of Kayan & Z who appeared in Until July from Aurora Rose Reynolds. I was hoping someone would give me their story too because I needed it like I need water. These two are the ultimate characters. The hero Z (Eleazar) is a bad-ass biker who doesn't take shit from no one and is kinda scary-hot! Kayane is the best friend of July & works with her at the Vet Clinic they opened together. She is the office manager there. She is not looking for scary-hot but got Z anyways. From a cat-suit where Z calls her Kitten to the very little kitten that shoots Z. Through and through, literally. Absolutely loved loved reading about them again!
Yes, this is a Novella and can be read as a stand-alone BUT I would definitely at least recommend reading Until July by Aurora. Gives you kind of a back-ground too BUT there is enough of that in this book that you would totally be great reading the characters alone. It's a HEA but I wish there was more of course!
I am rating this a 5 plus & highly recommended!

Pretty fast pace and steamyish.
This is pretty much Unilt July just with another set of characters, same timeline/stamp. But I have to say I enjoyed them more then july and her boo. I just wish it was after until July.
Kayan is the office Manger at the vet clinic and she hears her dog barking up a Strom in her place and girl has herself a gun and aims and shoots.. but she shot Z 🤣🤣🤣 and he wasnt mad nope he was pleased she knew how to defend herself. He's been sprung since he saw her at the bar in her catsuit;) now he has to convince Kay to give them a shot and keep his girl safe.. which is hard when she tags with July. But that won't stop him from taking care of her.
Tell this day I'm still mad at July man for calling her a bitch (yes wes called july the b word.)
No ow/om drama, no cheating, Drama, slight secondary charas, sexy times, no virgins and no manwhore

K.D. Robichaux wrote THE story I've wanted since we met them in Until July. Kayan and Z were the two background characters that had me captivated and totally invested in their story and I prayed hard that whoever got their story did it justice and did it right.
Well kudos to this new to me author because she totally kicked ass with their book and made me fall even more in love (totally possible!) with our sweet Kayan and the over the top, swoony alpha-biker Z.
Steamy. Suspenseful. Sexy. Sweet. Swoony. Entertaining. Unforgettable. Familiar as it intertwines with Until July yet brilliant in its very unique way.... Scary Hot is one of those journeys that'll have you glued to the pages until long after they stop turning.

Z knew the minute he saw Kayan she was going to be his. Kayan wasn't sure what to make with the hottie alpha biker who seems to have claimed her without even having a date. Can she trust the man she can't get out of their mind and what happens when life throws them an unexpected curveball?
This is Kayan and Z's story from Aurora Rose Reynolds Until series. I didn't realize it when I picked up the book but was very surprised to see two characters I was interested in get their own spotlight. Great story the chemistry was off the charts and the beginning started with a big surprise. Definitely one to pick up.

Five delicious alpha stars!! Z is so growly and dominant…protective, possessive and loyal…and sweet! I mean, what else could a girl ask for? I LURVED him! I never read July and Wes’ story, because Wes sounds a bit like a prick, but this one could easily be read as a standalone. I loved the suspense and Z having to keep Kayan safe, I loved the spicy scenes (*fanning myself*), and I always love it when a big growly alpha gets all soft and sweet for his woman. Z was all in with Kayan from the first time he sees her, she is his BOOM. Kayan doesn’t fight him too hard, so we get lots of couple time. All in all this was an awesome addition to the Happily Ever Alpha, Boom world and I can’t wait to read more! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This book was just as amazing as I knew it would be!!!!! This novella is not only part of the Club Alias series, but also part of Aurora Rose Reynolds Happily Ever Alpha World, and ties in with Until July, but is told from the point of view of Kayan and Z. Don't get me wrong, it's a stand alone, and you don't have to have read Until July first to keep up, but some of the events are the same in both books, just told from a different POV. I've read both, and it isn't like re-reading the same story. It's like getting a fresh perspective on a story you've already heard!
With a cover this hot, the bar was set pretty high for this story. Taking into account that this author has put out some amazingly HOT books in the past, and the ARR books are known for their "Boom", I would say that this book fits in well with both series. I devoured this book in one sitting, as soon as it hit my kindle, and I have to say, it was everything I hoped for. The combustible heat I love from the author, and the "Boom" that is expected from the Happily Ever Alpha World. It's absolutely the best of both worlds!

I did read Scary Hot as a stand-alone. I haven’t read Wes and July’s story and I may need too!
Kayan is a kitten! Z always calls her a kitten! She is sweet and sassy, all wrapped into a small 5’2” small lady. She is a business office manager at a local vet clinic her bestie - July runs. July and Kayan like to go on ‘adventures’ as they call them. The girls get themselves into trouble but Z and Wes are there to save their girls.
Kayan is a bit wayward to give into her feelings for Z as she isn’t use to loving and having someone love her.
Z is a monster beast size of a man - 6’5”. He is in a biker MC club, he is tattood, and rough looking. He was in the Navy, he has that prior military thing going for him to. However, he is sweet and kind to Kayan. Z is a total momma’s boy too! The way he talks with his mom is fabulous! She still calls him little boy! Z and his momma a super cute!
I did receive this as a free ARC book. I am freely leaving a honest review.

Scary Hot by K.D. Robichaux is a spin-off book (Until July, Aurora Rose Reynolds) for the Happily Ever Alpha world that is in this read - main couple Kayan and Z.
I know I have been dying to read Z and Kayan's story ever since being introduced to them in Until July. And after KD Robichaux wrote their steamy wicked story, I can say that I am satisfied with their story.
We get how they met, what went down during their meet and that insta-love BOOM that strikes those couples who fall head over feet when they meet their fated mates... This novella has a bit of action, some drama and intrigue, with a good bit of heat and passion along with that romance and feels to make this one of my top favs in the Happily Ever Alpha series. Z and Kayan's story really is packed full of plot, characters and a good size Club Alias crossover. My only minor issue is I wish this was a full size novel, it was so good.

A spin-off book (Until July, Aurora Rose Reynolds) for the Happily Ever Alpha world, Scary Hot features Kayan and Z. Kayan, best friend of July, meets Z when July and she got 'undercover' to find who it is that is leaving badly injured dogs on their Veterinary doorstep at night.
This is a good read with a good bit of action and some sexy scenes, though I was a little disappointed that the Club Alias scene was a fade to black. There is a good bit of action involving traffickers and dog fighters as well as the building of Kayan and Z's relationship. The characters are well-developed and KD Robichaux did justice to Aurora Rose Reynold's world of brash, sassy women and the alpha heroes they love. A nice read with zero angst.

I am so happy and excited that Kayla wrote about Kayan and Z!!! If anyone could do them as much justice besides the queen of the book they first come from Of Until July by Aurora Rose Reynolds it would be Kayla!!! And every since I first met these two I wanted more from them and I'm so glad I got it!!! And buddy did Kayla bring them. It was sexy,sweet,hot and kinky!!! I loved how she was able to mixed Aurora's Until world with her Club Alias world!! It's always nice to see old characters again. And if you haven't met any from either series I would recommend you do both!!! These are two of my favorite authors and they know how to bring all of the elements together to make the perfect book or novella. And this is one perfect novella!! - By Tina

Who doesn't like a biker story? Buffed biker and a spitfire woman! There was an instant attraction across a room (and for good reason)! Z and Kayan's meeting grabbed my attention as well! I enjoyed their banter and their "getting to know you"! I really enjoyed their friends, Wes & July, but I really connect with intuitive Louisa! Oh! I could go for a good taco about now! I also appreciated how the author touched on a very real problem in the US and worldwide.
My only regret to "Scary Hot" was two questions that were not answered, for me. Still, a great storyline, wonderful characters and some seriously LOL moments! I also loved that it's a Club Alias crossover and I can't wait for Doc to get his story!

I loved this book from the first chapter. The crazy hot alpha Z was to die for. Kayan was quite the firecracker. The push and pull between them had me wanting to push Kayan aside & get with Z myself. I'm glad they both got their happily ever after. Kayla did a great job with this book. I was happy to see some characters from her other books & learn a bit more about them. I will be putting this book on my re-read list for sure!!

This book was sooo much better than I expected! Kayla never disappoints. Kayan is just what Z needed. Her sassiness and smart mouthed ways keeps him on his toes. From beginning to end this book hooks you in and in a good way!

I’ve been wanting Kayan & Z’s book since I first read Until July. I was a bit worried that since it wasn’t Aurora writing their book that something would leave me feeling like it was lacking, but Kayla did a FANTASTIC job!
I was so drawn into their story from the moment I started reading! She told their story perfectly. I loved seeing them find their boom and seeing how she answered all my questions that I had from Until July!
Z was so unexpectedly sweet that there were moments that brought tears to my eyes; and of course there were moments that of course were steaming up my kindle!
I’m so happy with how their story was handled! GREAT JOB KAYLA!!

So... Kayan and Z is one story that I've been DYING for. For real. When I first finished Until July, I was wondering when their story was going to come out... AND IT'S HERE!
Unfortunately, it didn't hit its mark with me.
I felt like I already read 75% of the book because it all happened in Until July... I really wouldn't have cared but it didn't go into more detail or expand the scenes or anything. I would've like more. A lot more. And I didn't get it.
What I did get, I liked. This is my first KD Rob book and I'm looking forward to going into her backlist and checking out her other books!
Unfortunately, it didn't hit its mark with me.
I felt like I already read 75% of the book because it all happened in Until July... I really wouldn't have cared but it didn't go into more detail or expand the scenes or anything. I would've like more. A lot more. And I didn't get it.
What I did get, I liked. This is my first KD Rob book and I'm looking forward to going into her backlist and checking out her other books!

Do you know those restaurant apps that you can customize your meal? I love those apps because I’m very picky when it comes to food and I like it a certain way. When it comes to K.D.’s books, you can really have it your way. Scary Hot was not only scary, it was…..spicy as well. (omg, I swear I’m not hungry with all these food references) Let me explain. If I was to customize a romance meal, I’d want a big strong man. Click. A feisty lady who can hold her own against the strong man. Click. Hot and steamy sex. Click Click Click Click Click Click Click. A true best friend. Click. Hot backup who show up when you need them. Click Click. Add a Root Beer and I’m a happy camper. Oh, and let’s not forget the pièce de résistance, a dog named LeFou. (I love dogs)
Before this book, I would have told you I wasn’t a big fan of biker romance books. In fact, I have actually told people that. Kayan and Z’s story, wow, it could bring me back to reading MC books again. Don’t hesitate. Buy this book.

OH MY GOD!!! From the moment I met Z and Kayan in Until July I have always wanted to know their story, and K.D. Robichaux absolutely did them justice in "Scary Hot"!! ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!! Like the whole Until Series...once you get started with "Scary Hot" you will not be able to stop. I don't want to giveaway any spoilers but I never thought in a million years that it was Kayan who shot Z and July had to patch him up!! Ahhhhh!!! I was completely blown away! Also, K.D. Robichaux...girl you have given Z the sexiest name Eleazar!! Yea baby yea!!!
"Scary Hot" is everything you didn't know you were ready for but damn does this book deliver!! I wish I could give this book more stars because a mere 5 stars does not even compare to how brilliantly K.D. Robichaux writes these characters...it's like she's in Aurora's head but with her own dirty spin!! Love it!!

I did not research this enough so really the disappointment is on me. I can't believe he took her to his favorite BDSM room, a specific room at the club. That is not my kind of thing. Minus that stuff and it would have been a good story.

I think it's safe to say I have an unhealthy obsession with the Happily Ever Alpha World that Aurora Rose Reynolds has unleashed on us. A year ago, these incredible novellas helped me jump start the birth of my blog. Now, a year later, there are 16 more of them to get all hot and bothered over. The first I received of the bunch is by the scary talented (see what I did there? lol) KD Robichaux. Scary Hot was everything you've been dreaming of for Z and Kayan's story. Scratch that. It's everything you didn't think was possible to dream about. And then some.
Story Line: Kayan is July's best friend from ARR's Until July. Z is Corbin's friend from KD's Confessions Duet. What happens when these two worlds collide? Heat. So much heat. And laundry. And suspense. I had high expectations going into this read. The HEA world was dynamite last time around. And knowing KD wrote this one? Yeah the bar was crazy high. And she surpassed my wildest dreams. Seriously. Z is the sweetest alpha biker I've ever read. And I've read A LOT. And Kayan's character is the perfect blend of funny, witty and adorable.
Interaction: Z is the epitome of the perfect alpha male. He's totally overbearing, over the top possessive and I loved every second of it. Kayan has a tiny chihuahua (she works at the Vet Clinic that July owns) and oh mama, there's just something about a big, burly guy falling in love with not only the leading lady, but her less than 5 pound tiny dog too. Hello, swoon. Lucky, or maybe unlucky for Z, Kayan isn't as easily swayed. She makes him work for the relationship. Which made me love her even more, because come on now, even in my romance novels, I need love to be at least a little difficult at first ;)
Laundry: Get yourself a fan and some iced tea, because you're going to need to cool off after reading some of the fantastic laundry in this book. Kayan and Z's chemistry is off the charts hot. Scary Hot, if you will. Look at me being all funny. But seriously, y'all know I take my laundry very seriously. And these two characters had me curling my toes on several occasions. Tattood guys are my weakness and Z just skyrocketed to the top of my book boyfriend list. YEAH. He's THAT good.
Depth: I know a good chunk of people who see a book is novella length, think it's all laundry with no meat. That could not be further from the truth here. Z and Kayan have so much more to tell. Yes their love is what fairy tales are made of, however, their journey to happily ever alpha, isn't exactly smooth. Their are speed bumps, steak outs, cat suits, and well, you see where this is going. When Scary Hot releases on April 16th and you better just call off work or cancel any plans for that day. Because once you start, you won't be able to put it down.

Destined for Crossover Series Disappointment?

When the 2019 Happily Ever Alpha World books were announced I waited with baited breath to see if my wish would be granted. It seemed like a excruciatingly long wait. The way in which she weaves the tale of adventurous Kayan and alpha, romantic Z is phenomenal! Scary Hot is told from the POV of two well-developed complex characters brought together by circumstance and united forever by the bonds of true love. The smooth connections between the two series provides Until Her series fans with a look at the evolution of the relationship between July and Wes from a new perspective. This book is extraordinary and a must read for fans of Aurora Rose Reynolds and KD Robichaux alike!

I was pulled right into this super short story. The story has naughty fun, passion, and hot steamy love.

Scary Hot is a sweet, sexy and highly entertaining novella in the Happily Ever Alpha world about two of my most beloved secondary characters from the Until series - Kayan and Z. We've met them in Aurora Rose Reynolds' book Until July. Kayan is the quirky office manager at July's vet clinic and her best friend since childhood. These two are inseparable and always come up with crazy ideas that get them into trouble. I loved their dynamic and how loyal they were to each other. Z is Wes' friend and a scary former military biker. They're both members of the Broken Eagle club where Z works as a machanic. When July and Wes meet and start dating their two best friends are forced to spend time together as well. What better way to get to know each other even though their first meeting was rather awkward and super funny. Kayan is immediately attracted to the protective, intimidating and hot guy who treats her like a queen. Z is intrigued by this shy and kind-hearted beauty who also has a strong backbone and adventurous spirit. In each other they will find the perfect partner and a once in a lifetime kind of love. I applaud K. D. Robichaux for doing a great job with this amazing story. I've devoured it in one sitting and couldn't put it down. 5 kitten stars

Oh, boy!! Scary Hot delivered all the feel goods with an attention-grabbing story line filled with some yummy spicy moments, bunches of hot swoony moments, and several laugh-out-loud moments. I didn't stop once I got started!! This little novella sure packed in a bunch of goodness!
I simply adored how Kayan was such a delightful mix of shy/sweet and strong/sassy - but in a charming way, not in a ott annoying way. She was so much fun!
And Z!? Omgoodness that man....he stole my heart. I so desperately wanted to be Kayan and be held and protected and cared for each time I needed it and have him at my back when I was ready to stand strong myself - just like he gave to her. Z learned what she needed and filled her life with goodness. Swoony!!
I haven't read Until July yet, where Z and Kayan are the best friends of July and Wes, but reading this story makes me want to go dive into Until July to get where they were first introduced, and then reread Scary Hot just to fully experience all their goodness.
This is a wonderful addition to the Happily Ever Alpha/Until series world and I'm so glad I got to experince Z and Kayan's story.

I was super excited to read this book for my blog. I loved these two characters from Until July and the fact that Kayla was writing their story made it this story even more amazing!!
I was hooked on this story from the first page. These characters had so much chemistry. It’s like I couldn’t get enough! If that’s even possible! I loved learning about Z, who he was and where he came from. His story is an amazing one and no wonder he turned out to be the man he is!! And, kitten aka Kayan...loved her sassiness, her spunk and just all around so much fun to read about! These two were so good together! They found their #BOOM and I enjoyed reading every moment of it. I felt all the feels and connected with these characters! I absolutely loved reading about Z’s family, his parents are amazing people.
This author is outstanding and she put so much heart into this story and hands down you will love it!

5 Imperfect Love Stars!!!
We finally get Kayan and Z’s story and I for one am sitting here with a HUGE smile on my face!! This book is sexy, steamy, engaging, with some laugh out loud moments that is perfectly written by Ms. Robichaux.
Our H/h are ON FIRE!! There’s a connection between these two that just oozes off the page and had me fanning myself with their heat. I loved how Kayan is the perfect match for this man and biker but for all his fierce looking outside, he’s so caring and thoughtful on the inside. He sees this woman and knows she’s his, now he just has to convince her that they’re meant to be no matter what obstacles might be in their way.
This is a book that can definitely be read in one sitting as well as it being a standalone. These characters are in Until July by Aurora Rose Reynolds and there are some of the same scenes, but from different POVs.
