This is a Level 4 Blastoff Reader in the "People of Character Series". Readers will learn that patriotism is loving your country and also giving of your time & talent to make your country a great place. Jefferson wrote the Declaration of Independence and later became the third president of our country. I thought this was a good introductory level information book. Kids will find the glossary helpful but I think a few more details could have been added. For example, instead of just showing Mount Rushmore and the Jefferson Memorial in WAshington D.C., these pictures should have had a caption or been labeled in some fashion.
