There’s nothing more terrifying than losing your child.

An eerie robotic message on Parker’s cell.

Unknown caller.

Miranda and Parker follow the lead.

Was that a mistake?

Answering that call throws her and Parker into the investigation of a grisly murder—an incident that leads to a web of secrets and lies bigger than either of them could have imagined.

To top things off, the team they were supposed to form is disgruntled with the management.

If Miranda can’t pull things together soon, this time more than one person might end up dead.

Another intriguing story

Parker put Miranda in charge of the team. They quickly have a new case. A boy is missing . This is another thriller from start to finish. Who made the robotic phone call to Parker. Is Parker’s sister involved? Is a teacher really working for the FBI? Can they find the boy before it’s too late. Makes you realize evil is lurking all around us. This one is a page turner.

Linsey Lanier is a gifted writer. Each book brings a different story that makes you wanting to continue reading the series.

I am so glad I boutht this series together!! I finish one to start the next!! The Boy is another page turner page turner. Miranda and Parker are back together...whew! Now Miranda is in charge of her own team, but for how long?
Does her and her new team figure out what is going on with the FBI, GBI, the Senator and the kidnappers, what is the conection and why did they take the boy?? What about the birth mother, where does she fit in to this one.
YOU HAVE TO READ THIS ONE!!! Another great read into the lives of Mirand and Parker and the Parker Investigations Services.
You won't be disappointed!

Start with nothing and end up with everything!

Wow! They just keep getting better. Whay a wonderful hunt for the team. Now with Miranda in charge of the team, how will she keep going. Not wanting the job and some of her friends feeling left out, due to more experience the can make a decision to stay or go after this case. Some real thriller this one is. They get involved wit the GBI, FBI and some really weird help. Lot of dead ends and some info to keep them moving forward.

Wow!

Hurrah! Miranda and Parker are back as a team but their investigations are still leading them into danger! I still do not like “ cliffhanger” at end of the book. Each book is fast paced, our main characters still rush into scary situations, which such professionals should not be doing. I find this aspect a fault in the writing.

Chapter One

She risked another glance in her rearview mirror and caught the dark outline of the man behind the steering wheel of the black van.
She could just make out his frame. He was a large man. Frighteningly large. The van drew close and he looked straight at her.
A shiver of nerves went through her.
But then he’d probably seen her the first time she’d noticed him fifteen minutes ago. Right after she’d exited the grocery store on Krog Street.
She never should have left the house this afternoon, but they had run out of food and the only thing left was peanut butter.
The boy was allergic to peanuts.
She liked the place they’d given them. It was a pretty little blue house off Irwin Street in the Old Fourth Ward of the city. The homes there were close together and the neighbors seemed friendly enough. Not that she had spoken to any of them. That was forbidden. There were children in the neighborhood and the boy longed to play with them.
That was also forbidden.
For three long days she’d attempted to keep him occupied with books and toys and video games. All the while she’d been waiting for word. What to do next? How would she know when it was safe again?
And then the food supply got low.
The light changed and she continued on Spring Street not knowing what else to do.
She shouldn’t have left the house, she told herself again. She should have contacted someone for supplies. But the phone number she had was only for emergencies. She’d thought she could handle a simple trip to the grocery store. But somehow the man in the van had found her.
She could handle this, she told herself again, straightening her shoulders with determination. She’d had training, after all. She’d done well in the exercises for losing a tail. But that had been two years ago, and it had been just a drill.
She’d never had to do it for real.
How had he found her? Had he followed her from the house? If so, then the boy was in trouble. The thought filled her with a sinking feeling.
No. She was positive no one had followed her from the house. This man had been cruising the streets looking for her. Had it been just her bad luck that he’d spotted her? That meant they knew what she looked like.
If only she hadn’t left the boy alone in the house.

Hope you enjoy this exciting adventure.

Underwhelmed

Took me a bit to get into this book. The proofreading of this book was mediocre. There were areas when it seemed as if the thought process wasn't completed. It seemed like parts of the book were missing. I had downloaded it to my Kindle, there may have been issues with the download.

I did finish the book despite all the issues I was having. It left me underwhelmed.

Yet another outstanding book in the series!

Parker and Steele kick booty yet again! Linsey Lanier keeps writing- magic flowing and I for one can't get enough! The tension is fierce and the stakes are high as Parker Detective Agency searches for a missing child! The clues are few and far between, but Miranda will never settle in her quest for justice for victims! She and Parker are unstopable!

Linsey you have done it again. Not until the end do you reveal the culprit or did you. Someone is still lurking around the hugh house sitting out in the woods. Who is the stranger and what is he up to and why?

Author Gets Bogged down

I have enjoyed the series of Miranda and Parker Mysteries, however I’m finding her books become bogged down in the middle with insignificant story lines. This is starting to turn me off her books.

As I always find with this author, the story gets more and more gripping as it goes on. And we learn more about the lives of each of the characters.

Another bad guy down

It's really not a give away. We know Miranda and Parker won't give up without bringing the bad guy down. And it gets no worse than child sex trafficking.
