Miranda is trying to figure her life out. She's taking classes to become an investigator. Her relationship with Parker is heating up. And she's been asked by a woman whose sister has been murdered to find the killer. Before she realizes what she's saying, Miranda agrees - without getting Parker's approval first. Bad move, she knows. But she's confident she can solve the case before Parker gets wind of what's going on.

Really enjoying this series. Miranda is a different sort of heroine, street wise, independent, and with a keen sense for investigating. Parker is suave, experienced, and totally taken by Miranda. He's never met anyone like her before. Beautiful, intelligent, a survivor. He wants to take her under his wing but he's also attracted to her on a much deeper level. It was fun watching them discover each other.

Definitely recommend this one.

I read the first book and wasn't impressed but decided to give this one a try. It was okay but seemed to just drag on endlessly. I got so bored with the story that I read two other books to break up the boredom. It picked up a little in the end. Miranda is annoying. She loves when Parker praises her and tells her how smart she is but doesn't like when he tells her she's wrong or not to do something. I don't see where she's so smart or has such good instincts either. It's mainly common sense. And she lucked into solving the case in the first book by going to the girl's house to say goodbye. I had this case solved early in the book. The incident in the library should have tipped her off. The third book sounds pretty good but I don't know if I can make it through another one. I'm not trying to be mean but if a book is going to be so drawn out I'd like more action, and not the sexual kind either. There was way too much of that already.

Book Two - good book

Book Two of Lindsey Lanier’s saga.
I enjoy the characters of Miranda and Wade Parker. I also enjoy Mr P.
This series so far has a good mystery theme . The underlying theme is the romance of Wade and Miranda.
I did not think Book Two was as good as Book one.
It was still a good story but it didn’t hold my attention as well. People reading this series need to understand the romance between Wade and Miranda is as big a part of the book as the mystery. I feel there are two many steamy situations that it starts to detract from the mystery.

It’s interesting to see how the character of Miranda is growing not only as a private investigator but also emotionally. Miranda had had a long period in her life as abused and had spent years building up a brick wall to keep from getting hurt again. This wall is not being magically dissolved. It’s taking work and introspection to grow into a stronger Miranda. Good job m’s Lanier. On to book# 3.

This is the 2nd in this series about Miranda Steele. She is still in training to be a Private Investigator at the Parker Agency. Parker, of course if the owner and he is in love with Miranda. But, she has her own problems and doesn't want to fall in love with anyone after her ex-husband tried to kill her.

Now she in the thick of things again. She is assigned to the case of a wealthy horse breeder who was found dead at the track..She was crushed to death by her favorite stallion, and everyone thinks it is suicide, as she left a note.

Now the sister is trying to hire Miranda to find out if she was killer by the ex-husband. They were going through a divorce and she was going to leave him.

But is Miranda getting to close to this one and risking her life again. Another great one, that will keep you reading. I know I do and I can't finish them quick enough to find out what she is going to do next!!

Miranda Saved Wade Again! 4.5***** Spoiler Alert
Reviewed in the United States on January 12, 2021
Verified Purchase
Miranda Steele and Wade Parker III joined forces to solve this steeplechase suicide/murder which showcased Miranda's powers of deduction while she battled with her past and her future with Wade. Her ploy backfired as she moved into the Parker Mansion which deepen her love and connection to Wade leading to another break up, and her subsequent rescue of Wade from Delta's rejected lover's scorned hands!

Great plot and character development! Miranda's cunning party ruse flushed out not only Delta's confession, but Usher's death. Her lesson on objectivity from Wade was a constant theme and reminder throughout this novel, pointing out the biases we struggle with in our life. Can't wait to read more about Joan F and Becker, plus Coco and Estavez! A must read!! Enjoying this new series to me... On to book #3!!

I really like this series. Parker is perfect. Haha. I love the cast of characters Miranda is acquiring for her team. I will admit that I do find her a bit annoying. The tantrums and her default reaction of leaving/running away from Parker. It gets wearing. I have read reviews for the rest of the series (I am a sucker for a spoiler!) and know this behaviour continues. But I have hopes that it isn't quite as annoying in future books.

I like the mystery in each story, even if they are slightly predictable. I guessed the baddie early on in this one as the author does tend to drop very obvious hints throughout the story. Not sure how much the chapters in the villains pov added any value to the overall book.

Anyway. Decent read. Good characters.
Looking forward to the next book!!

Entertaining

I’ve enjoyed this series so far. I did guess the ending fairly early on though. The side story of her friend Fanuzzi I guessed too and whilst didn’t really add much to the story it was a sweet side line.

I did get a little annoyed at how many times the author wrote about Parker’s feelings towards Miranda. He loves her, we get it! But overall it was a good book. I like Miranda as a character- she’s had some tough things happen in her life but I like her sense of humour.

Delicious Torment: Book ll (A Miranda's Rights Mystery 2)

Miranda was at her first Steeplechase and was looking at the horses in the barn
when behind her a horse started going crazy, and after the horse was finally calm enough to come out of the stall, there was a dead body in it. As she was being pushed around in the crowd a woman came and asked Miranda to find out who killed her sister, the woman in the stall. Parker and Miranda dog to find out who the killers is, they just hope that they don't get caught in the crosshairs.

Miranda is growing on me...

Miranda Steele has had a rough life...barely surviving an attack from her abusive ex. She has traveled around the country searching for the daughter that her husband had given up for adoption. For the past year, however, Miranda has been training as a private investigator with the Parker Agency. In this story, Miranda is investigating the death of a wealthy equine trainer...while figuring out her feelings for her boss, Wade Parker. Good romantic suspense. Looking forward to the next book.

Searching for Amy

As long as you can suspend logic & let yourself believe in crazy coincidence you can absolutely fall in love with Miranda & Parker. These books are exciting, filled with good tension & romantic, also. The dialogue is well-written, the characters are complete & seem like people you'd like to know. I love the familiarity of the city of Atlanta & all the way to the North Georgia area where I live. I'm looking forward to the next case.

Another good book!

I love kindle unlimited! All the books in this series I get to read at no cost to me. I read a lot of books. I rarely pick a book that has less than 4.5 rating. Most of the time I read murder mysteries of thrillers. The two main characters, Miranda and Parker, are very realistic and believable. It feels like I know them personally. The dialogue flowed smoothly and was realistic. Off to read book number three.

Delicious Tirment

Delicious torment can describe the relationship between Miranda and Parker as well as what drives a person to become a murderer. This is a great book with twists and turns that keep you gasping for breath. I can’t wait for the next book in this series. Miranda Steele and Wade Parker are amazing together. They make you breathless too with their chemistry and love. Love can be scary too. Great book.

Not my favorite

I read the first one with some irritation but this one was just too much. Tough, wounded of course, out to show everyone. Very typical female character. Parker, too perfect with all the accoutrements of wealth and beauty. Again, too stereotyped. I kept looking at the progress to see how much longer I had to read to be finished. In the last quarter I was skipping pages. The plot itself was ok, just too filled with trite dialogue and characters.

Strong and stubborn

Miranda and Parker make a great team. They are very much alike in their thought processes. Each has secrets in their past that have shaped them into who they are today. Solving a murder among the horse breeders and completing her classes at the Agency keeps Miranda on her toes. Parker appreciates her mind as well as her body but is always trying to protect her, which irks Miranda. Their personal and professional lives are totally meshed.

at times I hate Miranda.. then I love her again

It’s a love hate thing, she’s weak yet strong, gung ho and hesitant. She does stupid things and sometimes I have to put the story down and shake my head. The imagination of the Author.. yet it is a gripping story. For the record, I figured out who the real killer was long before it was revealed. Sometimes, it is a bit too dramatic.. a little unrealistic. But isn’t that why it is called Fiction?

I had found the first book on Audible for free. I should have known to stay away from a book that was listed as Romance!

Well, I gave the second book a chance and it was even worse than the first! Miranda is acting like a little kid! She does a lot of stupid things!

When she risks her life Parker doesn't like it. And what does she do... She leaves!

This book is free if you have Kindle unlimited. I found the audio book on Hoopla.

I'm done with this series!

Excellent

I finished this 2nd book in two days, it's that good. It's not a cozy mystery but a regular mystery with some sex. Not overdone with it, you can easily skip that part, I'm not in to books that have descriptive sex scenes there are on!y a couple as I said but the book is so good, it's definitely worth reading.

Beginning to enjoy this series.

Parker and Miranda are growing on me. I get frustrated with Parker 's character, because I find him controlling. A part of me wants Miranda to run for the hills, and part of me wants their love story to flourish. I also enjoy the twists to the story.

Lanier does it again. I'll admit that I do not normally love sequels or series. I don't normally care about the characters enough. Well, Lanier has converted me. I love Miranda, as broken as she is. I can understand her pain and her motivation. This one did not leave me guessing like the first, but it was still suspenseful and tightly plotted.

Great

Miranda Steele is hardheaded, stubborn, caring and darn good detective. My only complaint is the sexual encounters because of those I can't have my book reading aloud. Other than that Miranda is definitely someone you'd like on your side if you needed a private investigator. Great job. Thank you.

Wow!

What a terrific adventure! I am thrilled to be starting a great new series ! Since my Kindle Unlimited books have kept me sane and occupied during these months of Covid isolation( 14 for me), I am excited to meet Miranda and Parker---- what great dynamics between them. This is a new author for me and she writes an enjoyable, exciting, attention grabbing story 😊

A thrilling read

After book #1, I couldn't wait to get into book #2 and it did not disappoint. Following Miranda and Wade, this was fast paced and full of twists. And was thrilled to see them end up together. Can't wait to read #3. Thank you Linsey Lanier for another fabulous read!

This is a fantastic story. Miranda is a bit pig-headed and stubborn. She is very smart and intuitive. She tends to be poor and following directions. Usually this works out well for her even though she puts herself in danger frequently. The climax of the story is so intense that it brought tears to my eyes. Read this series!

I gave 4 stars this time as I didn't feel it was as good as the first book. It was too repetitious, as was needed if read as a standalone book. Still I enjoyed it very much & look forward to reading other books by this author! 😊
