Still figuring it all out? Cool, so are we. Feel It Out is a guide to celebrating where you are now, even if heartbreaks, career setbacks, growing pains, and preconceptions about where you should be by now are getting in your way. Think of this as a coming-of-age book for adults, a self-love pep talk that will teach you how to get to the core of who you are and find out what you truly want, to cultivate a hot and heavy relationship with YOU, first and foremost. This approachable and empowering book offers everything you need to cut through the noise, feel your feelings, treat yourself well, and get yourself right, so you can get out there and live your best and most exciting life.
Very quick listen for adults who need some motivational advice/have a inner pep talk about learning more about yourself and exactly what you would like out of life. Good listen and a good boost too!
It's weird that I just so happened to borrow this book a few weeks ago and it turns out this was SPECIFICALLY made for me. I mean, getting out of a 6(+) year relationship and rediscovering stuff about urself? Sounds..... familiar.
This is a book designed to help you have a positive outlook on life and to feel good and it really shows. The book has very cute illustrations and a great message to stop letting negative people and negative energy control your life. Sadly, because I have read this during the pandemic, a lot of the suggestions just don't apply anymore but overall, I enjoyed this book a lot and it gave me ideas to have a more pleasant outlook on life.
Whimsical and relevant advice for dating, true self-care, and generally putting yourself out there. Not novel to me but very engaging and I loved the illustrations
What a wonderful book that was eye-catching and inspiring from beginning to end!
A lot of self-help books can feel weighty and bogged down by infinite amounts of text that feel like they require an dictionary to understand. Sondler’s book offers succinct, helpful, and relatable tips that are gorgeously highlighted by her illustration style. For someone more artistically or visually inclined for remembering these tips and points, this book works really well.
A lot of the important points she makes will be easier for me to remember because of the art that accompanied it. Especially the ones about what you can and cannot change in life. Very helpful.
I loved that the approach to all the topics was so happy in tone - it’s more likely to make you laugh than to feel worse. The separated chapters for different aspects of life worked really well and offered a lot of focus to the tips.
Great, absolutely recommend for anyone looking for a pick-me-up and some fantastic art to go with it.
This book was really comforting and felt like talking to a close friend. Only downside was that some advice was a ~little based in capitalism and I would have preferred without. I got this through my local library, but after reading I definitely plan on buying my own copy. :)
Book #2 of May 2024 & #33 for 2024: “Feel It Out: The Guide to Getting In Touch with Your Goals, You’re Relationships, and Yourself” by Jordan Sondler. Rating: 5⭐️’s & Genre: NF, Self-Help, Mental Health, Empowerment, & Setting Boundaries! • So one weakness of mine when it comes to books is wanting to purchase every single book that has STUNNING ILLUSTRATIONS on the inside. It could be kids books with illustrations of animals, textbooks with illustrations of biology or anatomy, or any sort of self-help book with colorful graphics. So when I saw this beauty on sale for $9.00 yesterday at my local used bookstore, I was like “YOU’RE COMING HOME WITH ME”😅
Jordan Sondler is a beam of light. Her vibrant art and funny, heartfelt quips about life, love, heartbreak, friendship, and growth are a beacon for anyone feeling devastated, blue, or just a li’l grumpy and in need of a positive reminder that our feelings are temporary, life is full of joy, and read receipts are the worst.
This is a perfect gift for a pal AND for yourself. I know I’ll be dipping back into this when I’m feeling dark and need a little light. Thank you, sweet Jordan for this love letter to emotions! ♥️
This book is something I will open up time and time again. Not only are the illustrations colorful and eye-catching, the content is relatable and refreshing. I felt like I was reading advice from a friend that knows me well and cares about my well-being — and as weird as that may sound, I think it just proves how great this book is for young people who are trying to navigate life and “feel it out” on a daily basis. Thanks for making something truly special and amazing, Jordan!
This book felt lighter and fluffier than I wanted. I had described it previously as more of a collection of inspirational Instagram illustrations, which isn't a knock, just wasn't whati wanted.
I liked how bright and colourful the book was and how it had a sense of fun and empathy.
I read it hoping to get a bit more perspective and inspiration and didn't really find much new, but enjoyed the journey.
The whole time I was listening to this, I felt like I was missing something. It's mostly a bunch of lists of meme-like obvious advice, and...ugh.
But now that I'm here to rate it, I see that it's a graphic novel, which makes WAY more sense. I can't say for sure, but I can see how visuals would make this a whole 'nother experience.
Avoid the audiobook and pick this one up as a physical copy, for sure.
A beautiful every day little guide to get through harsh times with all the references I need to keep handy. Needed especially now with what everyone is going through lately with the pandemic. A great little book to help you keep your sanity.
The reason for the 4 stars is that I don't necessarily think it's for everyone, mostly for ages 20-40 and mostly for singles.
I adored this book! I read through it quickly in one sitting, but I’m looking forward to referencing it again and again. It’s a lovely little pep talk full of practical advice about taking care of yourself despite life’s uncertainties.
Beautifully illustrated advice for anyone, but especially those who had issues with depression or anxiety. I felt understood in my own struggles and found the humor that Sondler put into her illustrations very endearing.
This was a really cute and quick read, which I needed right now. I'm really not into a lot of the typical self-help books, and I liked that this was really simple and fun to look at. I can definitely see myself coming back to it, or getting a copy in the future.
it's a cute lil self-help + pep talk book with endearing illustrations and lots of nice advice by an artist who is like an embodiment of good vibes (but like, genuine healthy good, not toxic positivity good), just a joyful (quick) read.
Flipped through this at the reference desk this afternoon. I'm not normally big on self-help books, but I liked the illustrations and the author's no-nonsense writing style. It had some good tips for taking a close look at yourself.
Really cute book with fun illustrations. It wasn’t super illuminating or insightful but enjoyable to get through in like 45 min. The author is an illustrator so just go in knowing it’s primarily cute little drawings with kitschy platitudes.
The visuals were very cute but idk I was expecting more personal anecdotes or stories. It just felt like a lot of generic Pinterest posts on self care. Not that it wasn’t pretty and helpful. Just nothing super memorable or unique.
I loved this so much! The illustrations were absolutely amazing and the insights on every page were comforting and thought-provoking. Highly recommend!
Very cutesy and simplistic posi-feeling graphic novel about mental health and self-care. It's endearing and charming enough, while remaining relatively superficial and bright/joyous.
