I've been reading as long as I've been walking, though I never done the two together (I'm rather clumsy). With the birth of my second son I became a stay-at-home mom and found when the little one took a nap I had a WHOLE hour to myself.
I wanted nothing more than to escape for that hour and thus a love for writing was born.
DNF This book is a huge dumpster fire. It makes no sense. It’s not really a story at all. The blurb is completely inaccurate. This isn’t a story about a lawyer man who rescues and saves a coffee shop owner. Though the dude is a lawyer, he literally never even spoke to Ellory about her case, she dealt with her friend and another lawyer to resolve this case that we know nothing about. Here are the lowlights of this terrible “book” 1. Noah (the hero) said maybe five sentences in this whole book. Her friend Malcolm had a bigger role in her life than this dude. 2. Some woman is suing her but we are never told why, what the basis of this lawsuit is. 3. Some character who has nothing to do with the story, a friend of a friend, figures out that the lawsuit is frivolous, so Ellory settles for a small sum. No dramatic comeuppance or satisfying finale is given to us. 4. The two lovers in this story don’t even meet until over halfway through the book. 5. She thinks he is married or has a girlfriend and never finds out if he does or doesn’t. Yet she bangs him. I guess that means he was single? 6. This is 54 pages long and 53 pages of it is just Ellory and her friends’ shenanigans. 7. There are 200 side characters in this story and none of them are pivotal to the plot. 8. What even is the plot? It’s basically a woman who owns a coffee shop and then goes on one date. 9. Boom!? What’s a boom? 10. This isn’t instalove, this is insta-oh he’s kind of cute, but back to my coffee shop. 11. (Updated to add this one) I completely forgot to mention the terrible writing. Someone needs to teach this author what a comma is used for, because she rarely used one, and when she did it was in error. This is so choppy with too many simple sentences it felt almost robotic. 12. The sexytime (there was only one) was so awkward and unnatural. I don’t get how he wrapped her legs around his waist while kissing her thigh, is the dude Gumby?
Just do yourself a favour and don’t read this book, currently (before my 1 star) it has the lowest rating I have ever seen for a book on goodreads. So it has that going for it. I bailed on this at the 70% mark, which is sad because, as I mentioned, it’s a 54 page book. Yuk.
The highlight of Ellory’s day is waiting for the elusive hottie who runs past her coffee shop each day. Or as she hand her employees have named him the Unicorn.
When Ellory finally meets him it’s like all her dreams have come true. He’s a great guy, one she can see spending forever with.
Noah noticed Ellory, her smile, finally he breaks and asks her out.
But before these two can move forward an unforeseen spanner is thrown into the works. So all her dreams that she thought she’d be getting are on hold until she can get around this ridiculous lawsuit that’s threatening everything she’s been working towards.
It was okay. For me the main couple were apart too long, for most of the book. There were a lot of secondary characters, Asher and November appear and that's great but you had her best friends and workmates and I just felt the Hero seemed like a background character. They finally meet, she's been admiring him for some time but they run into each other and then he asks her out. I didn't feel he fitted the profile for the 'boom'. I didn't feel he pursued her like the other ARR books. The relationship felt rushed. I was confused about the woman suing, that seemed a bit bizarre. I didn't get it. HEA. No intimate scenes with anyone other than the Hero and heroine. No Ex drama.
This book is part of the Happily Ever Alpha Kindle World with Aurora Rose Reynolds.

It was ok. I think, it would had been better, if there was Noah POV too. The romance felt lacking for me, because I just couldn't feel Noah emotions. You know those times, when you don't need H POV to know how he is feeling about his girl. Also, at the end, I still was confused about Cynthia chick and her suing Ellory.
I've enjoyed reading pretty much every book from the Happily Ever Alpha Series, but I have to say, that this one is just terrible. There is no real storyline and there is no depth to the characters. It was just a boring read. The book just had no flow. What a disappointment and waste of money.
I hate to say this but i didnt enjoy this until book.. i felt like Noah (H) was a background character instead of a alpha male or a BOOM.. the couple didn't really interact until middle and end.. it was Ellory fawning over him from far away when he ran and she was mostly with her coworkers... :( i was so dissatisfied with this.. i also never got why the lady sued the coffee shop.. if she was a know to sue shops for money? That just felt out of place.. and you would think Noah would be the one to help and save her coffee shop.. no its his friend and her friends.. 😐
No ow/om drama, no cheating, slight drama, sexy time, secondary charas, no virgins
3.5 stars Until Ellory is a short story that is a part of the happily ever-alpha series. This story is short, fast paced and a nice read. I read this book in one sitting and was satisfied throughout. I just wish that this book were longer. I found the writing style easy to follow, the characters likeable and the storyline enjoyable. I liked Ellory. She was a good businesswoman and a good friend. I liked her friendship with her employee’s Jackie and Malcolm. Ellory has a crush on a man she has never even spoken to. When she does finally get to speak to Noah, they got along instantly. It didn’t take long for Noah to decide that Ellory was his. I really liked that Ellory finally got to talk to her ‘’unicorn’’. I liked that they ended up together. I just wanted more scenes of them as a couple. From the scenes that we did get of them, I did see some chemistry. They made a cute couple. I really wanted to know the reason/grounds on why Ellory was being sued. I know we get answers at the end but never the reason on why the woman could sue her. Surely there had to be a reason for her to be able to even try and sue Ellory. For example falling over in Ellory’s shop. That being said, I liked that it was all resolved and the clause Ellory put in. The storyline for this book is easy to follow and it is a nice read.
I don’t even know how to review this. It probably isn’t a bad book if you haven’t read (and expect) the BOOM. I kept waiting but… nope. There are so many questions I have… why are there no chapters with Noah’s point of view. Why was the woman suing Ellory, why is there zero chemistry between the 2 MCs, why is there so little backstory. Really disappointed
Ellory & Noah's story is cute, but the main plot was a little too vague for me. She's being sued, but we never find out why & her lawyer says it's not a big deal, but the amount is enough to wipe her out both professionally & personally? It was distracting. There were also a couple story threads that were mentioned & then dropped, which were also distracting. The romance itself was sweet, and I enjoyed the characters & relationships, so it was overall a good read! : )
This book needs serious development and cost way too much for 48 pages. If all I’m gonna get is fluff and overpriced novellas I’m gonna have to rethink continuing the series and stick only with the original Until author
Ellory thought Noah was married. It wasn’t clarified but she went to get drinks with him. So she’s ok having drinks with a married man?
What did I just read? How is this a "BOOM" book? Why is Ellory being sued? We never find out. Ellory is a very weak female character. I absolutely did not enjoy this book at all.
There is no real interaction between the leads before they fall into bed. Noah hardly speaks in the story, he is more of an afterthought. Ellory is being sued, why? Asher and November have more of an impact in the story than the actual main characters do.
What the hell did I just read? No damn BOOM whatsoever! Hell it only was only Ellory. I don't think Noah said 10 sentences and most were only 3 words and at the end of the book. Literally no interaction. Dumbfounded by this author.
Honestly, I was enjoying this book until I realized that I was at 70% and the main couple hadn't had but a couple brief conversations together. This felt more like an outline of a book and really needed to be doubled so it could focus on the relationship and resolve all the plot points.
Ellory owns a coffee shop and gets along really well with her two employee's. They all seem like really good friends and I love that. There are several secondary characters and it kind of seemed like Noah was one of them, but it's a super short story, so I'm not complaining....
Noah is a lawyer that I assume works or lives on her side of town, because he often runs passed her cafe everyday, and though it seems she hasn't spoken to him the three months he's been coming by, one day he stops in with a coworker, Marla, and Marla gives her, her card because she has the best coffee ever..... even November thinks so... she and Asher make an apperance, and Nico too for a second.
Now, they meet and it's a bit awkward... Ellory is a cross between a grown-up, a middle-aged dad and a teenager. I'm not sure how old she is, but she's corny and cute and sometimes maybe a little cringy, but not in a bad way? She didn't think she'd ever need Marla's number but apparently, someone decided to sue the shop AND Ellory personally and it's a huge thing that might ruin her life and take everything from her.... but it never said what she was suing the business and the person for. I mean.... it made so little sense because what could you possibly have on a person to sue them personally and professionally??? We never find out, only that she settles out of court, not for the millions that she was after, but a few thousand because Nico looked her up and found a bunch of dirt on her. That whole thing ruined the story for me, because it was the main plot, and we don't even know the why or who this woman was, or anything at all....
The story was cute and short and ended well, but the rest of it kind of lacked everything else for me.
Noah & Ellory. Triggers- fraud. Ummm… yeah, no! Where was the heat? Where was the suspense, the action? WHERE WAS THE BOOM? I mean really. This novella really seems like a waste of time and I would say that it does not connect with the other books in either series “Until Him/Her” by ARR or “Happily Ever Alpha” connected series by various authors. It's a single POV, Ellory 's and the author seems to focus more on the supporting characters and ARR characters than anything else. I will repeat, name dropping character names from the original series does not automatically connect it. This author does not follow the formula so perfectly crafted by Aurora Rose Reynolds. Also, the main male character felt almost forgotten. It took too long for them to get together and he didn't really pursue Ellory the way all the other alpha males did with their women. And, compared to the other books in the series so far, this book is rated PG-13 as opposed to rated NC. This book just wasn't it for me. It was a complete waste of time.
Nothing extraordinary about it... We don't really know anything about the MCs' past sexual exploits but both of them are no virgins. No ow or om drama. The lawsuit was, in my opinion, not relevant to the story itself. It's a Novella so everything was solved pretty quickly. And the hero and the heroine just kinda got together from one day to the next. Not sure if I bought their chemistry. Nice, quirky side characters. Plus, we get to see a pregnant November
Anywaysy quick and easy read. A bit too many punctuation issues and spelling mistakes for me.
A very short read that lead me to questioning how this is part of the Boom. There wasn't a moment of laying claim and doing everything to make them yours. To top it off Ellory being sued made bo sense whatsoever. Why was she being sued and the to find out the woman does this all the time hoping her victims settle, which is exactly what Ellory did. Why wouldn't she fight for what was rightfully hers.

This was a sweet story but unfortunately I didn’t get the full boom effect that I was expecting from a book in this collection. The story was a little flat and I felt it didn’t have any peak to it. By no means was this a bad book but it was just nice and probably needed a few chapters from Noah’s POV to give it the lift it needed.
Ellory meets Noah when she needs the help from the law firm he works at. She has always watched him from afar. Asher and his crew are doing the work on the expansion. When November hears about what is going on, she brings in Nico. Will the law firm with Nico's help get her off the hook? Will she get her unicorn??
Not as well written as the other books in this series. The writing style wasn't to my liking. Some of the grammar was wrong and the sentence structure was off. Sorry but it didn't hit the mark.
I have enjoyed all the other books so far but this one was just not the right fit for me.
3.5 Ellory is working hard on expanding her business and dreaming of the guy she sees running everyday. When one day he comes in and there is a connection. But could legal problems cause her life to fall apart. I liked the story but would have liked to see more of Ellory and Noah together and more of their future.
I liked the writing style and the secondary and guest appearances and I that's why I didn't connect with the couple. I just didn't feel a BOOM! in their connection. I would have enjoyed a chapter or two from Noah.
The story was a good one. There was just not enough build up to their relationship to be invested in it. There was no “BOOM”! Just 2 people who met and started to date and , wham! Let’s have sex? Hmmm.... needs to be a little longer in the build up.
The was the first time I’ve read anything by this author and I loved it! I loved Ellory and her band of merry misfits! They were funny and talked like real friends talk. The story flowed super well! And Noah was sexy hot! That scene in the park was really hot!
The majority of this book doesn’t have them as even knowing each other. I expected more of a love story - not a book about friends running a bakery with a sliver of love.
