Franklin plans to stay up all night --- even if no one else can. This Level 2 first reader contains longer stories, varied sentences, increased vocabulary, more difficult visual clues and some repetition.
My nephew(age 7)read this book to his mother and I. I asked him if it was okay if I wrote down his thoughts on the story. He's a big Franklin fan and has watched a lot of the movies and read the books. He told me that he's not sure if he's Franklin 's biggest Canadian fan or even Alberta's, not sure about Calgary either, but he is definitely the best one in his house because he's the only kid.
In this story, Franklin invites Rabbit, Bear, and Snail for a "stay over" in his backyard. Franklin wants to stay up all night. My nephew thought that was cool. His mother not so much. He felt that this story was really really funny, but that parents will probably not like it too much.
świetna książka, sentymentalna i jednocześnie inspirująca. Czytając ją poczułam nutkę nostalgii, ale także chrapki na kolejne przygody, polecam z całego serduszka, a sama chyba pokuszę się o całą serię :))
Franklin is determined to stay awake all night long and invites his friends over for an anti-slumber party. Despite stuffing Bear, Rabbit, and Snail with sugar and splashing them with water they inevitably begin falling asleep on him.
I wasn't impressed by this low-key adventure, but my daughter liked it, and it may have inspired her own attempt to stay awake all night long a few years later, plying her friends with ice cream and encouraging them to dunk their heads in a bucket of water as the hours ticked past.

Another great family story in the Franklin series. Wanting to stay up all night, Franklin invites his friends over for a sleep over. As his friends fall asleep before him, Franklin urges them to stay up. But when breakfast comes, Franklin is the only one sleeping.
