After three decades with the DEA, Jet Jahner has gone into private investigation. When someone brings him a case about a missing girl, he struggles to find a worthy lead.
A cryptic email asking for help ends up leading Ellie down a path that yields more questions than answers.
And what they find just may send them both to the bottom.

Dear Reader,
If you enjoy Wayne Stinnett’s Jesse McDermitt and Charity Styles, Dawn Lee McKenna’s Maggie Hamilton, Mark Dawson’s Beatrix Rose, Jeff Carson’s David Wolf, J. D. Robb’s Eve Dallas, or Melinda Leigh’s Morgan Dane, odds are you'll love reading my books too. So come on and join me, and get away to one of my favorite places for a few hours. I promise, you won't be disappointed.
Want to travel to Southwest Florida, stick your toes in the warm sand, and breathe in the tangy scent of the ocean? Maybe life hasn't afforded you the opportunity or the grandkids would rather go to Six Flags. I can relate...I have five kids of my own! While I can't personally get you to Southwest Florida, I can transport you to an intriguing world filled with delightful characters whose lives are filled with mystery, love, loss, and adrenaline.
Kind reviews can help far more than you know and won't go unnoticed as I keep writing and drumming up more Florida Suspense and Adventure Thriller Novels that you'll fall in love with.
Jack Hardin currently lives in Arlington, TX, with his stunning wife and five kids. He grew up in an Army family and spent half his childhood living in Germany, traveling all over Europe prior to the fall of the Iron Curtain. At nine years old he walked through Checkpoint Charlie and into East Berlin just one year before the Berlin Wall came down. He holds a 2nd degree black belt in Taekwondo, is proficient with bo staff and nunchucks, and has taught women's self-defense.
Those alone do not make him awesome, but it all sounds really cool.
You’ll find Jack’s books to be in the same vein as Wayne Stinnett, Dawn Lee McKenna, and Randy Wayne White. In other words...dig in...you’re about to be seriously entertained.
Jack is driven by grace, the bedrock of his Christian faith. Shoot him an email and let him know what you think of his books. Or to give him your opinion of the moon landing, or whether or not you think it's a sin to squeeze the toothpaste tube from the middle.

Books 1-4 in the Pine Island Coast Suspense Series form one larger story arc, with everything tied up in Book 4. Books 5+ will all be standalone installments.
The first four books of the Ellie O'Connell series dealt with drugs and those who dealt them. This one deals with human trafficking. Ellie and Jet, formerly of the DEA, are searching for a young girl taken by operators of the sex slave trade. There are a couple of twists that keep the book interesting, giving it four stars instead of three for an otherwise normal tale.
Definitely another exceptionally outstanding masterpiece of Florida fun in the sun by Ellie and crew. This is a fast moving adventure with plenty of suspenseful episodes and enough great detective endeavors to satisfy any reader's expectations. Too, Ellie and her cohorts does an exceptionally outstanding job of rounding up the bad guys, as always!
Five stars, and more, for this compassionate piece of truly invigorating investigative techniques. Being a former Chief Deputy for a small County Sheriff's Office, I definitely have the utmost respect for any entertaining revelations of extraordinary police work, whether fictional or not. Mr. Hardin is one of the true experts in this filed, but he goes above and beyond in these descriptive"touch and go" episodes of realistic investigative techniques! I have followed Ellie in all other episodes, and as always, I am looking forward to her next release, as it appears she will be heading back into the of espionage exploits of old. All of her stories are outstanding stories, that have distinctive storylines, andMr. Hardin's
I was so glad when Break Water came out as I had read the whole series in about 2 weeks back in February and I was hooked. Ellie and friends did not disappoint, she is hell on wheels and her and Tyler are so cute. You can’t forget about her dog Citrus and Major and Jet and all of her friends. This is a series I will read time and time again. I can’t wait for the next book. I highly recommend this book y’all!
Ellie O’Connor has left the DEA and enjoys life in laid back Florida. The death of a friend puts her on a trail to see if it was actually a suicide. At the same time her DEA colleague Jet Jensen, now retired, is a PI looking for a teenage girl who disappeared. Soon they realize they are working the same, but larger, case. She and Jet find justice, but it’s Ellie in a ball gown and high heels who has all the moves. Good book.
Non-stop action and suspense. Hardin is a master storyteller. The local color of Pine Island is spot on and for those of us who live in South West Florida we can envision the realness of his people. Ellie is a genuine hero. I hope Hardin is a prolific writer because I can't.get enough of this series!!
As stated above they drew me into the series. But Major, Jet and FU complete the mix. I know Pine Island and once considered moving there. However, Sun City Centre has my attention now. But will travel again with Ellie, Tyler & Jet when Jack finishes the next book.
I have read the entire series and have enjoyed each equally. All have kept me reading long after my eyes have begged for closing! The subject matter is always interesting and informative. The suspense riviting.
I recommend this to all who enjoy a good suspense novel and willing to read start to finish with few stops.
I enjoy Ellie & other regular characters in this series. The topic of sex trafficking hits close to home. The target isn’t only immigrants or those without a support network. It happend to our daughter. We too had a ‘happy’ ending. I thought this topic could trigger me and it did slightly. It was handled well with the usual intrigue and suspense. Well done!

My how time rolls on it seems the author as always comes thru with another great story that keeps the reader myself wanting more i have followed all the books and will continue thanks for the good time I receive from your books
What is so significant about this book and author is that it has a message and a purpose. So often author's write as a means to provide income. Our author hopefully does make a living at his trade, but more importantly has a morale compass. Again Well Done.....
As always great story and characters. Well developed story and good twists and turns. I have loved every book in this series. Ready for the next story!!! Please keep them coming!
This book has a different feel from the previous four. Yes, the major storyline wrapped up in book 4 but something was missing from this story. It was still a good book, but it didn't have the tension/thrill of the previous books.
