Cassandra Jones can usually see what's coming—that's part of the whole mystical seerhood gig. And life at the Shield monastery is pretty she's training to save the world with a petit, frightening witch, and her relationship with Zach is provoking all kinds of salacious rumors among the Shield's younger occupants, which is pretty amusing, all things considered. But the Lost are on the Miranda has emerged as a deadly commander able to channel her feral soldiers into horrific chaos. As both the Shield and the Lost race against each other to find the one relic with enough power to stem the growing tide of inevitable death, Cass knows that her chance to enjoy her time with Zach is growing short. At her core, though, it is not the Shield nor the Lost that frightens Cassandra instead, she fears the icy knot of anger and rage that threatens to overwhelm her. And she is no longer certain who, or what, she will be if she gives in to her newly-released emotions.
I've read all kinds of books in my life. Big Important Books. Falling-apart-from-use books. Comic books. Books with no pictures that I wish had been comic books. Cookbooks. Pulp fiction. Histories. Biographies. You get the idea.
And one day I just reached a point where I wanted to write the kinds of stories I really enjoy reading—stories with humor, action, and all kinds of supernatural shenanigans. And a kick ass heroine who's a real person, with the messy and meaningful challenges real people face in life.
When I'm not writing, I'm outside working in the garden, playing Pokemon Go with my kids, or trying to convince our crazy dog that she really does like baths. Hope your day is full of awesome—thanks for stopping by!
Seriously this book would have been easily 4 stars if not for all the typos. Does anyone proof read before publishing any more? This series has had me enthralled since the first book Faithless. I went into this one thinking it was the final book. But it's not. There's another one coming Timeless, with no future release date that I can find. Will Cass and her mother make peace? Will Cass and Zach be reunited? Can the lost be redeemed?
I enjoyed all 4 books very much. Well, that is until I finished this one and realized the story is unfinished and there is nothing anywhere to tell me when and even if the 5th book is coming. Its at the first series I actually got hooked on since reading all of the Ilona Andrews ones. Not to say its at that level, but it did get closer for me than the other recs. I liked the characters and became vested in their relationships, journeys and struggles. I will admit that I wish Cass would have chosen the other guy but that just tells me all the more I was indeed vested. I think the story is well written, pace was good and character had a good deal of depth and personality. I think this author has got talent and promise. Now, can someone kindly tell me when 5 will be out????
The Heretic is looking for another relic to keep the vampires from going feral. They are trying to find the coat Jesus wore before he was crucified. Kimiko decides to trick them in thinking that they have it. Meanwhile, Richard's actions make Cass realize that she had already given her heart to Zach. They go off by themselves and Cass asks Zach to marry her. He makes a ring out of grass for her using magic. The next day, they go to tell Kimiko and overhear a conversation with her 2 closest people about the rumor of the coat. Kimiko knows they are there and tells them to come in. She sees the rings and Cass says they are getting married and Kimiko holds their hands and says some foreign words and starts crying. She sends them to a cottage in the mountains to forge their love. On the third day when Cass is getting firewood, she sees some feral and wakes Zach to warn the rest. By the time they get there, they find out that all of the vampires that are starting to turn feral are there instead of just a couple of dozen.
In this series the plot thickened, it was intense, made me wonder what is going to happen next. Cass is force to fight vampires, her aunt, and discovered her mother is alive. Cass and Zach battles together against the vampires only to be outnumber and Zack transformed in body that shocks everyone. The story is intriguing, compelling enough that you have to continue the series ,in my opinion, to want to see it through its conclusion.
I am disappointed in this series it was drawn out, too wordy and too long. I also read Timeless book 5 and I had to skim through the book too much unnecessary informations and the series is still not completed.
Where is Zach and what happened to him?
Maya is so unnecessary and wants to take Richard's place.
The shield is no more, Miranda and Thomas is dead. NO idea where Rose is and now Cass is on the hunt for Amare too many books and the story is still incomplete.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
It’s like reading twilight but with Bella choosing a human ... so the first book was good but the 2-4 a disappointment and I’m sorry but the story is also very slow .I don’t think any supernatural romance book got the story so lost and underway....
This is book 4 of the series of the Master being Rose Cass realized her mom is the leader if the list and Zach has become a monster to protect and save his love from all who would want to harm her. Miranda is now dead she list to Cass
So much detail. I could put myself into the story and see if happening Young adults to grandma's like me Will enjoy these books. Can't wait to find out what happens with Cass ,her mom, Richard and the big red monster lol.
