Leif Villers has been a vampire for nearly a century, and he hates what he is. Unwilling to live in the present, he falls into surfacing memories and re-experiences them — memories of Camilla and the Frost Boarding House, and of course, his beloved Gemma MacLugh who was murdered by a dragon shifter.
But the hermit vampire doesn’t know he’s being hunted, and after being rescued by the most unlikely person, he joins a school of vampires directed by a visionary leader known as Draven Denholm. Leif is motivated by Draven’s promise of discovering the way to resurrect his betrothed. But such promises come with a cost.
In an effort to bring Gemma back, will Leif forsake his past and become the very thing he abhors most? Find out in this prequel of the USA Today Bestselling Siren Prophecy Trilogy.

Outcast is a standalone book in the Shifter Academy series and delves into the (un)life of an intriguing being who is pivotal in the series. It gives an extensive looking to what shaped Leif into the person he is and explains a bit more why he makes the decisions he does in the series.
The writing is strong, and the character development smooth and consistent.
Warning - the book does contain information from the Shifter series, so you may wish to read them first to avoid spoilers.
I read an ARC of the book and have chosen to review it.
Outcast is a great look at Leif's life, and what events and people shaped who he has become. Leif is so much more than just a vampire, yet also so much less. His story is complex and riveting right from the start. Outcast is truly a great book!
I loved getting to ok now our favorite oddball vamp! This book was fantastic even though I know there's a greater story to Leif than just the memories we see in this book. Excellent read!
Love Leif's story, I really nedded to read it, it explains so much of his behavior against his own race (vampires) and his desire to help the shifters. He's one of a kind 🤗😍
It was ok but I just couldn’t get into it. I am sure other readers would enjoy it but it just wasn’t for me. The plot was a good one but again, I just couldn’t really enjoy it.
