Offers parents of the deaf advice for communicating with their children, selecting schools, considering professional help, and evaluating technological options
I really liked how the authors described grief. It's something that can be applied multiple times in your life, not just upon learning that your child will follow a different path than you had expected. I also found the section on "Reading the World" helpful.
I ended up skimming a lot of this book, but it was interesting. I greatly appreciated that it didn't try to suggest one method was better over the other for a Deaf child and it recognizes ASL as its own language.
