Goblins and more face Goblin Slayer and his party as he continues to slay every goblin around. This time accepting a quest from the buxom Shield Maiden to rescue the princess from a doomed temple of death, Goblin Slayer runs into more than the usual goblins and once again has to use his wits and rely on his friends to get the job done.

This volume gives not only some interesting new locations and foes but also adds some much-needed character development to our party members, especially Goblin Slayer, who is becoming more aware that the other members of his party are growing and changing while he continues to, well, slay goblins.

This series continues to be a lot of fun and the combination of brutal goblin slaying and slice of life means that it is never dull.

Goblin Slayer party's heading off to the capital for some bodyguarding task! Would anything ever be so simple for this uncanny group of adventurers? Haha... doubtfully so. Since in the end, it'll just end up to be just about the goblins, goblins, goblins.

This time the group weren't just going to protect Sword Maiden from goblins aside from escorting her safely to the capital, but they'll end up facing off with a greater demon a lot more directly than they've ever done before! It was exciting to read about how all these characters that we've grown to know about from the past volumes come together to pave their own paths, not just for the Goblin Slayer and his party, but for all the other people who had their lives saved and changed by this unlikely group of goblin slayers.

And it was amusing to see how this time, we could see how some of Goblin Slayer's actions directly influence the battle from the Hero's side--to which it was still so funny to think that he probably would never know that he actually helped a lot, indirectly, for the Hero's group to once again save the world from the evil's clutches.

It's really hard to not get pulled into every single works of Kagyu in this series. While all of the grotesque narratives from the goblin's side might be a bit too graphic or nasty, the writing on the adventurers and everything else in the story was just amazing.

Another great adventure.

Another great book in this series. The story is good and well written and I really love all the little references to TRPGs in general, this book actually proves that TRPGs campaigns can be written in a book with success. The combat scenes are well written and nicely described, the characters are powerful but at the same time the author shows that any combat (as in TRPGs) can be deadly even when fighting goblins. My only complain is the lack of personality of some characters and some parts are repeated several times. But overall a great book with good story and a pretty cool party.

This was a fun one.

What happens when what were supposed to be goblins aren't quite that? Well, GS still had a job to do, sort of. And a new (old) dungeon that was infested with them. Sword Maiden had been there before... I don't like to summarize events too much, that's what reading the book should be. But it was a fun and interesting read (as usual). Every time I read one of these I am wishing I had a D&D group to play with. Heh. In short: there is some growth here, more world building, and hints of what may be to come.

Another great adventure. It's an interesting volume where Goblin Slayer faces the fact that everyone around him is growing and getting better while he doesn't really know what he's going to do (that is, other than killing goblins). Some great character development, the universe is expanded in a cool way with the Capital and a new dungeon... I really enjoyed this volume!

Sweet nectar of the gods!
Another great volume in the series and an interesting change of scenery. It wasn't quite as detailed as the previous story and it felt a little rushed, but it was thrilling to read.
I look forward to the next installment in the series with eager anticipation.

Something about Sword Maiden rubs me the wrong way, but I'm enjoying Priestess' and Goblin Slayer's continued evolution as characters.

The best volume of the series. I loved how finally Sword Maiden takes part in an adventure and how Goblin Slayer's development is moving forward. I don't like how Priestess trauma appears out of nowhere sometimes, it feels a little forced to me, but whatever.

4.5/5

This series transports me to a medieval world, cruel but with heartwarming moments such as tavern parties and the love for the unknown. Definitely, a light read to pass the time.
