Oh my gosh I just finished reading this book and I feel like my heart is in my throat. If you enjoyed the other books in this series you are going to want to read this one immediately. I think it is the best so far and that is saying a lot because everyone has kept my enthralled reading straight through I couldn't put it down to do anything else. Lol I even woke up at 2am and picked it up and started reading again until I fell asleep with my phone in my hand. This book has so much suspense and so many things are brought out in the open, there are definitely a few shockers. I read the last couple of chapters thinking don't end, please don't end yet. Ms. Hill certainly kept me on my toes, there were a couple of things I guessed but that didn't change the suspense. This book can be read alone but it is so much better if you start from the beginning so you know all the characters better. I can hardly wait for the next t book to be released! It will be the last in the series and I am so excited to see how it will end, although I am definitely going to miss Gabe and Kyra. I received a free download of this book from the publisher. This review is my own honest opinion of a book I recommend and totally enjoyed.
Deranged Specter (Street Games Book 4), my ninth read from author L.K. Hill. Picks up where book 3 left off, like a jet fighter in flight and just gets better from there! Three pseudonyms, 3 different genres. All great, but this book captivated me the most. I look forward to the fifth book in the series! I’ll be reading more from this author no matter what pseudonym she writes under! I really didn't take this long to read this book, we took a cruise & were traveling without internet to post reviews. (RIP Marley January 20, 2014 - July 24, 2018).
L.K. Hill looks so normal in her picture at the back of books. Its good that she is not a criminal she would never be caught. I am not sure how this much ability to suck you into a story is possible. The Gaap character will be haunting my mind for a very long time. Do yourself a favor and buy the whole series right up front. If you love a good mystery your going to buy them all anyway. I have a new favorite author.
This is book four of a series that has many twists and turns in it. Yes it is possible to know what is coming if you pay attention, but this book is the most tense one yet. Kyra is still the moral, strong willed, brave person she always was and so she has remained my favorite. What will ultimately happen? I guess I will have to read the next book to find out.
This book kept my heart racing and in my throat. So many ins and outs and adventures. Predictions that came true and things that blindsided me. An incredible book.
Book three in this series left off with a serial killer on the loose. The excitement jumps right in and never stops in book four! The compelling Abstreuse City and the Mire are virtual characters in themselves.
Kyra had to choose between saving Gabe’s life or the life of his partner. She chose to save the man she loved. Now he blames her for his partner’s death. He may never speak to her again.
So Kyra has turned all her effort toward saving her brother, Manny. She has teamed up with Dellaire to find and bring down the serial killer haunting the Mire. When she succeeds, Boss, the head of the crime syndicate, has agreed to set up a meeting between Kyra and Manny. Kyra may trust Dellaire to have her back, but she doesn’t trust Boss to keep his bargain. Unfortunately it is the only avenue open to her, and the killer needs to be stopped.
The killer, Gaap, seems to have just as much interest in Kyra as she has in him. Kyra has no idea that Gaap is watching her. What is it he has planned for her? Will Kyra and Dellaire be able to take him down before he is able to set his plan in motion?
Gabe is looking for the killer too. At the same time he is involved in the mystery of his own brother, Dillon. Since the time of Dillon’s abduction when Gabe was five, the investigation had met a dead end. Then Gabe got a new neighbor that was connected to the kidnapping. Hammond is locked up, but the FBI profiler working on the case is interrogating him with hopes of finding out more.
Gabe regrets his harsh treatment of Kyra after his partner died. Will they be able to work things out?
