Palaeontologist Darcy Manning was publicly though wrongly disgraced, leaving her career in tatters. She starts to try and rebuild it and somehow find the evidence needed to bring down her enemy and expose a fossil smuggling operation, aas well as clear her name and reputation.
At the start of this story Darcy is working for a museum and on her way to Queensland outback after word comes of fossils found at Matilda Station. There she encounters fellow fossil hunter Mitch Beaumont. Attraction sparks between them.
There is understandably a lot of info about fossils and dinosaurs, so it has obviously been well researched. Maybe a little too much information sometimes for this person. One other quibble was the number of times it was mentioned of Darcy’s ‘long dark hair.’ It didn’t need repeating. Same with multiple descriptions of Mitch’s physical attributes.
That aside, this is a good read and great setting with some likable and some unlikable characters who come across as very real. I enjoyed it just not quite as much as a couple of this author’s other books.

Outback Treasure

Darcy Manning is a Palaeontologist who travels around to various dig sites to uncover fossils and works with a big team of enthusiasts.

She arrives at Matilda Downs in the middle of the outback, where Mitch Beaumont has uncovered a significant find in the middle of his parent's sheep station. Mitch now runs the ranch and loves the remote life.
Darcy is so excited to be back at work in the outback, a place she loves and is in her blood.

Something happened in her past working life that left her wanting to prove herself. Whilst she finds the body of sexy cowboy Mitch who stirs her heart and her lust really hard to ignore she needs to try and put this aside for the time being and concentrate on the dig. She feels like all this may mean something in the future but lurking in her background there is a mystery that she is determined to find the answers to.

This is the second book of Noelene's that I have read. I loved the independent woman Darcy on her motorbike, her determination to find answers to her questions, she is outspoken, seems to have no fears and can do most things a man can do. She also faces danger head on.

I loved all the characters, believable romance, danger and suspense. I can't wait to read Noelene's next book. I also loved the fact that the book was thin and small, easy to read in bed.

This is a recommended read.

Good solid enjoyable read. Felt like I’d entered a proper Aussie outback environment peopled with nice guys and villains and at least one character in transition between the two poles. A good lightweight summer read.
