Some wars aren't fought on battlefields...While Queen Sybelle rules her kingdoms and conducts politics from her palace in Lionessa, Gyles Arrer travels to Azura. Unsettled by the changes, the Azurians struggle with the strong presence of their longtime foes; the pirates that their new Queen has called her allies.
Between friendships, old and new, the outbreak of the war with Ludorum and his own demons, Gyles is left with the task of maintaining Queen Sybelle's rule and holding an entire kingdom together.
Kyra Gregory writes new adult fantasy novels filled with heart-warming found families, slow-burn romances, court intrigue, and a little bit of bloodshed. While she enjoys making her characters suffer she also enjoys writing soft moments, flourishing friendships, intimate romances, and characters who strive for home and peace. While dark at times, her books are perfect for readers who crave emotional depth and a slow build in their fantasy.
She lives on the tiny Mediterranean island of Malta and is usually spending time with her husband, son, and dog when she isn’t writing and publishing novels or jotting down ideas for her next.
This was by far the best book of the four. Though still plagued with a multitude of editing, grammar, and sentence structure problems, the plot was the most cohesive of the four. In addition, the character development improved to the point where I actually started to like the main characters. If this author could work with a good editor, her books would start to accrue higher ratings.
