Widow's Bay #3
Late Broomers
Learning to pilot a broom is only one of the items on the to-do list for the witches of Widow’s Bay. The coven learns they can't swap Swiffers for brooms and that texting while flying is hazardous to their health. On top of that, a firebug seems bent on scaring tourists and sabotaging the Ice Festival. Small town reporter, and brand new witch, Marzie Nowak has to figure out what’s weakening the powers of her vampire BFF and catch a murderer before it’s too late! Marzie navigates rude Facebook comments, her pushy cat, an expanding troll population, local politics, and peri-menopause in the latest installment of the Widow’s Bay series. Late Broomers is the third book in this spellbinding paranormal cozy mystery series. If you like amateur sleuths, snarky humor, persnickety cats, and supernatural small towns, then you’ll love Rebecca Regnier’s bewitching mystery.

Late Broomers by Rebecca Regnier was another entertaining addition to the Widow's Bay cozy paranormal mystery series. Marzie and her friends have begun training by The Crones and in this book they learn to ride brooms (which was funny). However, Marzie is also investigating a murder, copper mining and is helping Stephen/Etienne Brule' to find out why the good/evil balance in Widow's Bay has tipped toward evil. Unfortunately, Marzie had more than one TSTL moment in this book which did frustrate me as she should know better as this stage after the events from the first two books. I'll try the next one because I do like most of the characters and the town.

Great series, first time I felt the ending was a little rushed but still great reads!

This book deserves a 5 but..
The idea behind the series is a good one, it's compelling. A little town in North America, Widows Bay, who's women owe a debt to it's vampire benefactor Etienne Brule (now Steven, so as not to tip people not in the know to identify him correctly as the 400 year old explorer) these women were witches, who he saved, some after being ejected from their indigenous tribes, others from the Salem Trials in gratitude for helping them set up the town, the Witches will help protect the super natural community, the vampires, the shifters even the trolls who need Widows Bay, they need to connect with the soil, the air even the water these "Yooper Natural s" NEED Widows Bay and in turn the Witches. But the balance must always be kept and that's what the Witches are for, to help keep that balance, between good and the bad. In this book while very new still to their roles and still learning from the last 3 witches still alive from the old generation of the DLC (Distinguished Ladies Club) what those roles are and what they entail, Marzie Nowack local reporter and the Coven's Liaison (she can call the leader of the Vamps, and the leader of the Shifters by telepathic speed dial!) must find out what is causing the imbalance of power allowing Brule's immortal enemy a toe hold in Widows Bay weakening his power to the Town and Marzie. All while figuring this out local reporter Marzie has a murder to wrap, a local election to cover, researching some new activity in an old copper mine on the outskirts of town and some malicious fires and vanadium around the latest old man winter festivals!
This book has it all a great story line, brilliant characters, it really has everything and i do recommend you read it. It's a really interesting entry into this genre. so why only 4 stars? the spelling errors are ridiculous, i counted at least 9 separate really obvious ones ( and I'm not even counting duplicated words!!!) before chapter 6 was complete!
I would have liked to have given It 3 🌟stars. If it wasn't for the fact this series really does have it all! ( except a decent proof reader) and it seems I'm not the only one who has this issue regarding the lack of care, I've read a few reviews mentioning the spelling errors and formatting, it could almost be forgiven in book1, but book3 you expect the author to be checking the reviews and making changes., But it doesn't seem like she cares, she's certainly not made any changes up to Aug 12th 2019
Why complain you may ask? For me when I'm reading a good book, i get really immersed but bumbling over a spelling error, it having to re read a paragraph to clarify something ruins a book for me and I'm sure this author will have lost readers after the same lack of care in book1. Sad cause it is a good series.

Life as a small-town internet news reporter was never dull in Widow’s Bay, especially when Marzie Nowak is also a novice witch trying to get used to her new powers – and learning to use the new, low-budget selfie stick she was given to make it look like her sudden shift to “live” breaking news included a camera crew, which it didn’t! Since she had returned to Widow’s Bay, her life had been filled with magical murders, supernatural beings, and home improvement projects on the old Victorian her mother handed over to her.
Today’s news on her Facebook “live” stream was an interview with Walter Korda who had found a body in the parking lot early in the morning. He said he had never seen the victim before, but there was a lot of blood.
Marzie and her witchy coven of Widow's Bay are determined to save their town from a murderer and the Ice Festival from a sabotaging firebug, as they attempt to learn how to ride their broomsticks (texting is not recommended during this activity) and learning how to wield their magic safely. This is an adorable series with a mystery to solve amid shifters, vampires, and whatever else comes along! The light-hearted approach will keep the reader laughing. The characters are so well described and entertain the reader from start to finish! Grab a copy and join in the crazy adventure!

This third book in the series is much more intense. Marzie is juggling many more responsibilities with the coven and many more news stories for her job. She was in a few more dangerous situations and unable to reach her usual backup help. It was all sorted out by the end of the book but I'm sure there's more trouble to come in the next book!
Amazon synopsis:
The balance is off in Widow’s Bay. The once powerful vampire in charge is no longer at the top of the food chain. It’s a broomstick race to find out why before reporter Marzie Nowak and her friends become the latest bat snack! Plus a murder on Main Street is making it quite a challenge to lure tourists to this haunted resort town in Michigan.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Late Broomers is a fun, fast-paced paranormal cozy that leans fully into its snarky humor and supernatural small-town charm. Widow’s Bay continues to be a delightfully weird setting, and the mix of witches, vampires, trolls, and meddling locals keeps the story lively and unpredictable.
Marzie Nowak remains a relatable and entertaining lead, juggling her new witchy skills with small-town politics, rude Facebook comments, peri-menopause, and—of course—a murder that refuses to stay neatly solved. The broomstick training scenes were especially amusing, and the pushy cat added just the right amount of chaos.
The mystery itself kept me guessing, with plenty of side complications to raise the stakes, from a weakening vampire power structure to someone actively sabotaging the town’s Ice Festival. While this is the third book in the series, it still felt welcoming and easy to settle into.
Overall, this was a witty, cozy read with heart, humor, and just enough danger to keep things interesting. Perfect for fans of paranormal mysteries who enjoy their sleuthing with a healthy dose of sass and magic.

Working together is the only way.
Another great read. Loved the plot but for a reporter she was a bit slow to add 2 + 2. Trolls, shifters, magic, vampires and a evil kingpin all mixed into a terrific plot that underlines the fact that even 'evil' groups have portions of good within them. Terrific the way that the characters are gaining strength not only from their powers but also each other.
A murder worries the town. How did the man get there? How did he die? Now the mayor's race is on and everyone (well a good portion) want her to win. Ridge has also been offered a senate position by a strange character. Add in mysterious fires, their Imbolic celebrations being derailed, strange happenings at the copper mines, activity on the snowmobile trails and not forgetting their new skill of broom flying. Will they be able to stop their town turning to evil?

Late Broomers, Rebecca Regnier's 3rd book in her Widow"s Bay Series, takes us on quite a ride, literally! The coven learns that riding brooms is really a thing. They also learn they they must work together if they are going to find a way to stop evil from shifting the balance and taking over their town. All the while they continue to try to boost tourism, this time with an ill-fated Imbolic on Ice Celebration. Politics continue to fly between Candy and Ridge. Filled with magic and mayhem, murder, mystery, intrigue and politics, the storyline is fast paced and well written. The characters are well developed and engaging. Marzie is smart, snarky and a real go-getter. I can't wait to read book 4 to see where this adventure goes!

Empty Nest Plus Magic
Women don’t have time for magic and mayhem if they are taking care of a family; so when the kids bedrooms are finally emptied lots of magical ladies are invited to join the coven..the more the merrier, girl power and Tatums brew, of course.
Murder and mayhem take over the town and it’s all witches on board..err on broom as everyone learns how to fly and spy. With lots of mysteries to solve and sleep to be missed, reporter extraordinaire, Marzie, is on the job running from one catastrophe to the next. With the support and help of her friends, the elegant Etienne, the ruggedly handsome Grady and the newly enlarged coven everything happens exactly as it should..well, almost.

Nothing particular exceptional about this series. I believe that my favorite character so far might very well be Agnes the cat. Unfortunately, the main character was written, as so often is the case, as too stupid to see what is directly in front of her. The aha moment came well later than it ought to have. Also, she's falling into the trope of lone women wandering into dark and dangerous situations all alone when she KNOWS that evil is afoot. Being fooled into opening her door is another example of that nonsense. If that tendencies persists, I'll likely have to give the rest of the series a miss. At this point, however, I'm willing to see what comes next.

Fun storyline
I really enjoyed reading the story of the witches of Widow’s Bay in northern Michigan. The characters were fun. Being a native Michigander made this fun to recognize the various Michigan locations. The reason this book only got a 4 star rating is because Ms. Regnier really needs to hire a proofreader.
There were so many grammatical errors, spelling errors and just plain awkward sentence structure. It was very distracting to the well told story. I was tempted to give this book a 3 star but I just couldn’t do that to a fellow Michigander. Here’s hoping Ms. Regnier finds herself a really good proofreader for her future books!

Grammatical Errors
I love this series! I swoon at every encounter with Brule. The intensity between Brule and Marie makes me wish that I had my own vampire to swoop in and kiss my forehead. Lol. I'm not sure what happened in this book though. The story is great, but there are a ridiculous number of grammatical errors in this book. It almost feels like a rough draft was accidentally uploaded instead of the edited copy. Hopefully there will be an update to fix those errors. They drove me crazy, but I enjoy the series enough that I'm going to download the fourth book now!

We are back at Witch's Bay with Marzie (reporter) to figure out what's going on in her little town. The withches are trying to learn how to ride broomsticks, trying to find out who's post rude FB comments, her pushy cat, and who caused a murder on main street. I think it's funny when trying to text while navigating a broomstick. Lots of fun, suspsense and a crazy cat, vampire and the troll population and firebugs.

Marzie and the expanding ranks of the witches of Widow's Bay are determined to save the latest festival, and their town from and evil contemporary of Brule's.
Fantastic book with mystery, suspense, magic, shifters, and vampires. The characters are fascinating, funny, an keep you entertained from the first page to the last. I couldn't put this book down, I loved this book and I love this series.
I am leaving an honest and non-incentivized review of this ARC.

There are so many wrong words and inconsistancies... Such as - in prior books the shifters shifted into clothes, which I thought odd, now they are naked. Also, I am still not invested in these characters, they lack depth. In the last book it was December... Why couldn't we have had Christmas with family and friends and get to know these characters?!?
Too boring, all she does is work. Best part are her pets and we don't hardly see them:(

Good Book
I like the characters. I loved the murder mystery. There is an over-arching plotline that made progress in this book but did not fully resolve. The male heros are turning out to be a very old and powerful vampire and a very sexy alpha shifter. It almost starts to feel like team Edward or team Jacob. Not quite though. The heroes in this book are much more mature. Much better. But it is not clear who is going to get the girl.

Fun fun fun!!! Life after forty and an empty nest can be rewarding if even exciting!❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
The premise of the story surrounds old friends near and far coming back together after empty nests and husband no longer in the picture for a variety of reason. Only to find they are jumping into the shoes and responsibilities of an ancient society that is a riot of trial and error. But they were born for this. Fun read.

Excellent
I love this w! The women in this series are fantastic! They are full of sarcasm and humor in the best way. The storylines are great, I love the mystery and the power of friendship, and even if the men get to come to the rescue on occasion, it works. It is a wonderful series!

Balance of Power
Once again we get to bask with the swoon worthy vampire Brule, the panty melting werewolf logger Grady and latest coven of witches.
The ladies are back bringing more laughs and adventures. Who knew that living in Widow's Bay could be so entertaining and dangerous. Agnes and Bubba also return in this latest book.

Third book in this series and as good as the other ones in this series.
If you like a good learning how to be a witch and saving the town from evil persons, this is your read.
Mix in some action, vampires, werewolves and trolls together with a festival coming up and you have a good story again.
You can read this book as a stand alone, but why would you, the whole series is a great one.

Cozy mystery
MEH! Very popular series. If you don't mind poor editing and rambling stream of consciousness writing. 3 stars for premise, woman power and funny familiars. I found myself pressing scroll to zip through chapters. A writer with a serious journalism background ? What happened?

A lot of action packed into one book. The DLC grows, beings to trust in and expand their powers, the balance is shifting and in question between the many paranormal beings in town, a festival is planned and threatened, and all atop a murder investigation and more. Ancient evil beckons and Marzie and friends are right in the middle of it.

An exciting ride
Things are heating up even though it's snowing. Learning to ride a broom is the least of Marzies problems with another murder and an influx of bad guys. Will she solve it and kick some butt? Of course but it's fun to go along for the ride. Great series. Can't wait to start the next one

Loved it!
This is one of the few series that I have been able to read past the second or third book... They usually drone on and on and you lose interest quickly...but not these. I've been living the change of storylines and the evolution of the characters. Good work! Keep it coming! On to book four!!! Yay!!!

Between covering the mayoral election in which her friend Candy is running and the upcoming festival in Widow's Bay, Marzine has her hands full as a reporter. Add to that a murder, a possible arsonist and the big bad coming to town, Marzine is definitely loosing sleep. But with her friends at her side Marzine will get the scoop and solve the crimes.

This is a fun read with lots of humor as these witches try to learn the tools of the trade and solve a mystery too.
I enjoyed it and found myself smiling as I read the story.
I am voluntarily reviewing a copy I received.

Love these group of ladies learning how to deal with their magic and plus trying to keep the bad guys out. It always seem that everything is going good for them and then something happens and they have to get to the bottom of it. Love these books and can’t wait for the next one to come out

Things are heating up in Widow’s Bay as outsiders battle Yooper Naturals for control... of everything.
Multiple groups have need of the sanctuary of Widow’s Bay; but only friendlies need apply. But it’s taking some effort to keep the distance. It’s working so far.

Good
I have really enjoyed this series. The characters are engaging and the world building is very good. I love that the Widow's Bay Witches are Women. They don't reach their full potential until they are 40.
