If I have to face another year avoiding the guys at my accounting firm, I'm going to lose my ever-loving mind.

3.7 I have been hooked on the Resolution Series but I just couldn’t get deep into this story. I was excited when the book started out but then I felt the storyline fizzle a little and I found myself putting my kindle down to do other things and not having that desire to jump back and see what happens. In the end I will say that I am happy I finished through the acknowledgements, it is a HEA ending.

i read this book as part of an arc program. This is a book that is part of the Resolutions series written by a variety of authors. In this book, Annalise is an accountant and she decides this New Year's resolution is to do something fun for herself and to find love. Annalise applies for a job as a ski instructor on the weekends at a resort where she spend a lot of time with her father. On the first day she is there skiing, she accidentally runs into a man on the ski hill. Markus has taken a job at the ski hill as an instructor while he is on leave from his law firm, dealing with the death of his parents and the break up of a relationship. When Markus sees Annalise, he thinks she is gorgeous and wants to spend time with her. When Markus has to take Annalise skiing to judge her skill, they have a lot of fun. When He asks her to dinner, Annalise accepts and they have a great time, until they return to his cabin and find his ex. I liked this story. I think Annalise was great, i loved how she stood up for herself and wouldn't let anyone bully her. I liked Markus too, i thought he needed time to grieve and find out what he wanted in life. Good one.

I received this book with the understanding that I could leave a voluntary and honest review.

In this book we meet Annalise Walsh and Markus Donnelly. Both of these characters need a change from their regular lives but for totally different reasons. Annalise is looking to get out and meet new people with her position at her 9-5 job she knows that isn't going to happen. So she sees and ad for a ski instructor at the Wonderland ski resort. She thinks this could just be her ticket. Markus has taken a leave of absence from his normal job. He needs this time to recover from the loss of both his parents and the fact that his fiance left him when he needed her most. So he decides to also answer and ad for a ski instructor at the Wonderland ski resort. Little did either of them know what they would find. Can these two find more than a little adventure while taking time from their regular lives or will it just be something they will remember when they are old?

This is a great story. It does have its ups and downs I really want to tell you about. However I don't want to ruin it for any other readers. I will say this book will take you on an adventure you didn't know you would have. I would highly recommend it to anyone and everyone.

Great Holiday Romance

Marcus lost his parents, took a peace of absence from his law firm, then his girlfriend dumped him. Feeling adrift he takes a.weekend job as a ski instructor at the small resort he learns to ski at.
Annalise has made it to a.supervisory position in the short time she has been at the accounting firm she was hired at just put of college. She has been all work, has let her friendships slide. Her new year resolution is to avoid becoming a cat.lady. She applies for a weekend job as a ski instructor a the small.resort her father taught her to ski at.
Marcus and Annalise meet in a.collision on the slope. He was a jerk to her. Then she finds he will be the one to conduct her practical for the interview and find they have a lot in common.
A fellow ski instructor has her eye on Marcus. Then.their is his ex trying to get her claws back into him. Annalise is no pushover.
A sweet and steamy short holiday romance with a nice epilogue to wrap up their story.

Marcus needs a breather he is a hot shot lawyer from a top firm but since the death of his parents he hasn't felt the same about it when he takes a leave of absence his girlfriend Cara ditches him. now he is working as a ski instructor and getting the breather he needs that is until a blonde bombshell knocks him off his feet literarily when he nearly bites her head off for knocking him over she gives as good as she gets. Annalise is top accountant at her firm but she is fed up with the men she works with continually hassling her and decides to take a second job as a ski instructor imagine her horror when she discovers the man interviewing her is the man she knocked over less than 24 hours ago. These two will hit it off but do they have any chance when Marcus's ex comes back on the scene

Wonderland ski resort turns out to be a wonderland for Annalise and Markus but not completely without challenges. Thoroughly enjoyed this story. Annalise is really smart & doesnt take any stuff from anyone. She just needs to open her horizons more so she doesn't become a crazy cat lady. Markus is emotionally scarred & needs to step away from his life for awhile. Here's where Wonderland comes in. It's a place that holds cherished memories from their pasts and it's where they come to find 'something else, more'. This story was funny, sexy & made my heart melt.

Annalise is an accountant for one of the biggest accounting firms in the city and after the breakup with her boyfriend she’s put all of her energy into her job and it paid off. Marcus was the youngest partner in a law firm he put in for a leave of absence so his girlfriend left him, and now he has a job as a ski instructor for a couple of days. Today Marcus wasn’t working so he decided to go for a ski by himself and just as he took off something hit him in the back and he went flying face first in the snow lol. A gorgeous woman with long blonde hair asks if he’s alright but he nearly bites her head off, if he didn’t have the earbuds in his ears he would of heard her shouting. This is a fantastic short story I also had a laugh with these two characters, this is a fantastic story and I highly recommend this book it’s definitely well worth the read.

Annalise wants to makes some changes in her life so she can experience more than just her job. So when she finds an ad for a ski instructor she jumps at it. Markus is recovering from losing his parents and then his fiancé leaving him. He knows that he needs something more in his life so he decided to take a leave of absence from his job and apply to be a ski instructor. When they meet sparks fly and its like then wake each other up to life again. However will a misunderstanding keep them apart?


This is a great story that will draw you in and keep you reading until the end. The chemistry between them is blazing hot. This is a well written and very entertaining story. I would recommend this book to any book lover.

I liked this story a lot because it felt so real. It has real life issues. It is on the shorter side but absolutely worth the read and one-click. It is very well written and has a great storyline and plot. The characters are well described and they develop well through the story. It is not that fast paced and that suits the story.
I like the main characters and how they have their issues to handle but they do it well. A story that shows prejudice should not be a thing we have towards others. This couple handles the things fate throws at them with communication and open hearts. I like it has an epilogue to show a bit of what happens next.
Captivating, engaging and a story I read in one setting because it caught me from start to finish.

No More Cold Nights

I am so in love with the Spar Island girls! They are feisty, sassy, sexy and they truly know what they want. But underneath all of the tough personas that each girl has is a heart that needs to be captured and revered much like Annalisse's. Markus is the perfect man to complete the picture.

Laney Powell's writing is truly impressive. I love that she can weave her stories so concisely, not even needing so many words to get the point across. The story does not suffer tho, there is still some conflict and steamy scenes enough that you want to go back for more books from her!

A quick read, perfect for the new year. The connection between Annalise and Markus is instant and believable, as are their individual situations. I enjoyed getting to know them and their backgrounds as well as being out there on the ski slops teaching with them. I would have liked a little bit more of them as I liked their strength and hope individually and would have liked to see that as a couple, but for a short read it ticked all the boxes for me.

Annalise wanted a break from her everyday life as an accountant so she went back to her favorite ski resort wonderland and got a part time job there as an instructor. While skiing down the hill she ran in to Markus who also worked there and ended up giving Annalise her interview for the job. Sparks were flying the moment they touched hands. After getting to go on their first date they have a few bumps in the road. Ex's and snarky girls who just want to make a scene will be one of the big factors that may keep them apart. all is fair in love and wonderfall

This is a quick sexy read about two people who need to get away from it all and head for the ski resort. Annalise and Markus meet by accident because she literally runs into Markus on the slopes at the ski resort. Both have decided to start the new year with changes little did they realize together they are perfect for each other. This is a cute, fun story with believable characters. I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book.

Great sexy and sweet read!

This story was the longest of the all from series I had a pleasure to read. It has more elaborate story line and some twists in the plot that bring us drama and some angst. Will those circumstances allow main characters to achieve their resolution? This read gave me a lot of fun, there are funny moments, great banter and some sweetness in the way how characters behave.

Love this story!! Annalise is afraid she is going to be alone and become the cat lady. She goes to Wonderland ski resort to be an instructor to add some excitement back to her life. Marks took a year off since his parents passing and went to Wonderland to instruct to try and get his mind, heart and life back on track. They seem destined to be together.

I enjoyed this book. It was an interesting take on two people needing time away from their normal busy stressful lives and doing something that made their hearts happy. I enjoyed watching the banter between the two and then how the other guys all rallied around Markus having already decided Annalise was his girl. Lovely story. Lots of back story for a novella.
