About the author

Amazon bestselling author of romantic suspense, Lorelei Confer, has been writing since the fourth grade. She lives on the Gulf Coast of Florida with her husband and AJ, a longhaired Chihuahua, who are both her constant companions.

In 2010, her first novel, Deadly Deception was published, the first in the Deadly series. Another series, Saddle Creek, began with the first release, Rustlers and Romance in 2016. This series is set in the shadows of the Grand Teton mountains in Jackson Hole, Wyoming.

Mentoring children years ago led to helping aspiring authors set goals, and generally, meet their objective to finish the book. She practices her own discipline every day.

After six years as a copy editor and two years as an editor at The Wild Rose Press, she ventured out on her own as an indie author.

FBI Agent Luke Miller is on a task force hunting human traffickers.He also teaches a class on how to keep safe an not be abducted.Lexi Morris is an accountant she goes to the seminar but shes late an when she sees Like she freezes hes so handsome with beautiful blue eyes. She doesnt really heat a word he says because shes lost looking at him. When on the way to her car she doesnt see security that usually takes her to her car Lexi is abducted waking in a cabin on the middle of nowhere.Will Like rescue her? Will they give into the smoking hot chemistry that they have between them?Will they fall in love ?There are so many twists and turns to this story will keep you riveted until the very last page and leave you begging for more.I love the way this amazing author brings the characters to life before your eyes and you can feel their emotions and their pain.I can hardly wait to see what;s next by this multi talented author.

This book is about a young woman named Lexi who is abducted into sex slavery. Luke is the Special Agent on the Human Trafficking Task Force who rescues her. And they are very attracted to each other. But Lexi happens to check the pocket of the jacket he gave her to wear and finds a LOT of money. So she is full of doubts. Is he a rescuer or actually a man who was intent on buying her as a sex slave? And her biggest problem is that the sex traffickers are still after her! So there is a lot of romance and danger. I guess the most fun I had reading this was in the descriptions of self-defense techniques Lexi had to learn. And I learned a lot myself! I highly recommend this book.

This is the fourth book, and all I can say is Holy Moly! You can barely see a resemblance between this book and the first one in terms of the style of writing, but the story line is the same thank God, and it's only getting better!!

The chemistry between the characters is off the chart, and you almost feel like you're actually watching them in real life instead of just reading about them. Ms. Confer is still using sensitive topics such as kidnapping and sex trafficking, and bringing them to light in such a way to make them, while still EXTREMELY IMPORTANT and DANGEROUS, able to be read in an easy manner.

If you haven't read any of the Deadly series, I highly suggest you give it a chance, you will love all the twists, turns, and others surprises that jump out at you.

Our heroine is grabbed outside a seminar on human trafficking (bit of irony there), and taken to a cabin in the woods. Fortunately, our hero is nearby and rescues her, but she is rather skeptical of the whole thing.

This is book four of the series, but it is written as a standalone. No prior reading is required.

This is a romantic suspense story with some intrigue, action and romance in the mix. I think this is the best one yet in the series, with a nice plot that has some twists and turns to it that made for an intense story. I thought the characters here were well developed and real chemistry, although it took them a while to accept it. Overall, a highly enjoyable read.

Deadly Lessons is the fourth book in the Deadly series and is a great romantic suspense story.

Lexi and Luke are terrific characters who have great chemistry together but she doesn't know if she can trust him. The storyline is well written and engaging, keeping my interest from start to finish. The author handled the sensitive subject of human trafficking very well.

This is the story of Lexi and Luke. When they meet at a human trafficking awareness seminar he is giving, they feel a spark. She gets abducted and Luke rescues her but when she finds a lot of cash in his pocket, she doesn’t know if she can trust him. I enjoyed the suspense and romance in this story. A fairly solid romantic thriller. The subject matter is sexual trafficking, so it's not a light. The ending is possibly the weakest part... it's quick and gets the job done, but the speed of that takes the oomph out of the rest of the story. Still. The rest of the book is quite well done.
