i loved it. not familiar Laney Powell, newbie author to me ... are these books in the Matchmaker series are they just a collection ... or suppose to be similar in any way? i felt like some were similar in characters ... did i dream that? love finding newbie authors and hope to read more from Laney soon enough!! well done! great cover. Heart melting love story I'm so glad Nat got her story. I love when characters from previous stories get their day. Nat has a lot going for her. She's successful in the family business & is working toward her life goals but there's something missing, someone special. So she seeks the help of Grace Graham's matchmaking services. Her match is found in Christopher. Christopher is handsome & successful in his own right but wary because he's been hurt before. That hurt has made him close himself off but with a nudge from Grace he sees a sliver of hope. A misunderstanding threatens to ruin everything and it's up to Christopher to fix it. Heartfelt story of love & of overcoming the barriers we put up for ourselves with honesty & hope in order to find love.
The Matchmaker Series is a collaboration of short stories by different authors linked in the same world. Grab some coffee or wine if you prefer. Get comfy and prepare to be romanced into Valentine's just as these authors know how to do. Swooning!! I love, love, love these short stories of romance with just enough steam to keep it more interesting
Natalia,Nat, loves her job in the family business, that will someday be hers, supplying Santa's to various venues in her home stated. Adding in School, it doesn't leave her much time for a social life. Now her friends are getting engaged, some starting families. She wants that. She turns to a match maker. She has 3 older brother and a traditional Russian dad, so the local men give her a wide birth. Her friends fix ups have been a bust. Christopher works as a web designer and manager, has his own business. A stutter that comes out when he is upset or nervous has had left him with a non existent social life. Grace, the matchmaker he works for is going to change.that. Grace is old fashioned and uses letter writing between matches as introduction. Nat and Christopher hit it off. They agree to meet on Valentine's day, but things don't go as planned and they are both hurt. Christopher refuses to give up. A sweet and steamy short story romance, with a great epilogue
This series has been so much fun to read. I am really enjoying hearing new to me authors voices in come of these books and this one by Laney Powell is one of them. I really liked her "voice". She has a wonderful gift for telling a story. Nat and Christopher made for a sweet couple. I have really enjoyed the old school letter writing in this series. It was an interesting tool well used by this author in the fabric of her storyline. Christopher is a sweet, kind, painfully shy guy making the letter writing a perfect fit for him to find love. Natalia is strong and independent yet has had to hide those characteristics from her very traditional overprotective family. These two fit together like two peas in a pod. They are perfect for each other. I highly recommend this book and all of the books in this Matchmaker series.

This is a short heart melting love story. The Matchmaker Series is a collaboration of short stories by different authors linked in the same world.
Nat is in charge of her family business. Worked as an elf. She is the only woman in her family, with some protective brothers. That is one of her difficulties to have a relationship. One day she decided to venturing and try a different way to get a date. She participated in a matchmaker services, which consists in send letters to her prospect.
She meets Christopher. A sweet, kind, shy guy. He is an IT, who gave service to the Matchmaker software. And have a "disability".
Nat and Christopher are a sweet couple. You can fall in love with them easily. They are perfect together.
To the Author: I found two mistakes in this story. One was Nat age. In one chapter she had twenty and the next, twenty-one. Second mistake, The chapter 13 appeared as chapter 14. Number 13 was skipped.
Once again, our matchmaker does her magic, this time with one of her own employees.
This is another story in the loosely connection Matchmaker series. Each story is written by a different author and feature different settings and couples, but they share the same common starting point, in this case employing the help of the Matchmaker.
One of the things that I like about these story series is that they are all well written and presented. Here we have two honest but withdrawn people who are reluctant to put themselves out there. With the help of our matchmaker, they give it a try and the connection between them is is something to behold. Along the way we get a bit of steam, a bit of romance and a nice relaxing read with a solid HEA. Perfect for a nice evening read.
Highly recommended.

“A lid for every pot.” Dear Shy Guy, The Matchmaker Series, by author Laney Powell is a quant love story that takes place within a traditional family who has an only daughter, Nat. She decides to use the Matchmaker services. The Matchmaker matches Nat up with her IT guy, Christopher as a thank you for his work on the Matchmaker’s app. He’s reluctant because of he’s more of a recluse due to his stuttering when stressed. But, the begin the letter writing and develop an attraction. Should they meet? What would her family think? Definitely recommending this book for your reading enjoyment and the author really wrote an enjoyable short story. The personality of Nat was strong and feminine which Christopher had to deal with. There were sweet twists in this story. I am leaving this review for your consideration. Happy Valentine’s Day. Peace.
Nat comes from a very traditional Russian family and she has everything in her life except someone to be with. Christopher is an IT guy and when he does work on the match making software he gets a free membership. Nat signs up to the site because she wants to find someone to be with. Christopher is against being matched up but gives in and really connects through letters with Nat. Nat gets excited waiting for responses from shy guy and can't wait to meet him. When they do finally plan to meet up Christopher is late and when he does go to see her she has left. Will Nat give him another chance?
This is a great story once I started it I couldn't put it down. The chemistry between them is blazing hot. This is a well written and very entertaining story. I would recommend this book to any book lover.

Another great story in the matchmaker series where the members are encouraged to write and get to know one another that way before meeting and this is Christopher and Natalia's story
She is the only daughter of a russian american family with three brothers she works hard in the family business but has never met that someone special so she turns to Grace Graham to matchmake her. Grace picks her own IT specialist as the perfect match for Natalia he is not you typical romantic hero he is quite and shy and has a stutter that has stopped him from meeting women but grace knows they will be perfect for one another. As usual things won't run smooth and a misunderstanding nearly derails their relationship but this time Christopher has found a reason to fight for what he wants. Another sweet romance story from this fun multi author series
Nat signs up with a matchmaking service & is surprised to find instructions to write letters when she is matched with someone. Hesitant, she gives it a shot & hopes for the best. Christopher is a shy guy who is insecure with a speech impediment he has. When his client matches him up with Nat, he goes along with it, finally feeling comfortable with the anonymity of writing letters & not having to verbally stumble over words. When he unexpectedly hurts Nat, will he be able to step out of his comfort zone & fix things with her?
I thought this was a great story with good side characters. Both Nat & Christopher are nice, hardworking people who needed to find each other to complete themselves. I need to read the rest of Nat’s friends stories to see how they found their happy ever afters.
Natalia is a relatable leading lady - she has a protective family but don't realize she can hold her own. She wants a man to see her and not have to play a role.
Christopher...he's going to warm you up. He's not like most leading men. He's shy and has a bit of a problem of which has kept him from serious relationship.
Enter in our matchmaking genius Grace, who actually has Christopher as her website guy. She takes his application and he is a perfect match for Natalia.
What happens when her and "shy guy" actually meet? How will "shy guy" get past the protection of her family?
Very cute read where love is found in letters. These two deserve the storybook happy ever after.

Nat feels like there is something missing in her life. When she see the ad for matchmaking service and gets her envelopes to start writing her match she is both excited and terrified of what's next. Christopher is ok being alone so he doesnt get hurt. When he works on a website upgrade for a matchmaker and discovers she put his information in the system he is leery. When he finds out he has a match he is nervous. Once they start exchanging letters they both feel excited and when they decide to meet they couldn't be happier. Unfortunately, his nerves get the best of him and the night doesn't go as planned. Will he be able to make it up to her? Will she give him another chance?
I liked this story a lot. I liked the different approach because he was a bit shy and pushed into the dating game. She was a succesful woman but missed romance and a man in her life. I liked the characters a lot because they were both described so they felt real. Great chemistry, storyline and plot. It is a bit fast paced at times and that was a bit confusing because the timeline did not add up. He is a webdesigner/computer programmer and she is the CEO of her familys Santa company. They live far apart from each other but does that matter when it comes to love? Some mistakes happens but can they forgive each other and take their HEA? A story that I read in one setting. It is on the shorter side but absolutely captivating and entertaining to read.
This so far is my favorite story in the "Matchmaker" series! It's a great story and well written, especially for the length. All of these stories are so different but focus on meeting through Grace the matchmaker. Grace has a different take on matchmaking that is a little old school. It's a refreshing approach to meeting your perfect match. I loved Nat and Christopher!! Great characters with great chemistry. The each have insecurities which cause their first meet up not to go so well. Overall a wonderful story that develops nicely. I liked the over protective brothers. I also love Christopher's response to their warning. This is a fun story with a little angst and some steam.
For those who’ve ever been slighted or bullied or hurt because of just who we are. They get under our skin and as kids it festers and follows us through to adulthood. Then as an adult if we somehow can find that spark of hope and acceptance, we slowly build ourselves up into someone strong enough to tackle the world. The author wrote this book with such feeling and sensitivity that you’ll be ensconced into the story.

Oh Christopher was so cute! I love getting the Spar Island Girls stories and was so glad to see Nat's story. It didn't hurt that we also got a glimpse of Aleks and Cate. Nat and Christopher needed someone that would see them for them not what anyone else wanted and this didn't disappoint. They are perfect for each other. They were so sexy hot together too! I am glad Christopher was able to put his "disability" behind him and let Nat in.

ceritanya biasa aja, hero nya ini shy, seorang IT, dan kebetulan dapat free match dari owner yg punya web yang lagi si hero rapihin, dan dapet cocok sama si heroine, uda chat segala macam, akhirnya mau ketemua, si heroine di stood up sama hero karena malu, si heroinenya ini cantik dll. dan kesel lah si heroine nya di stood up gtu, eh si hero nya say sorry, dan menjelaskan kenapa stood up, dan jadi deh. ya biasa aja sih, tapi kalau buat baca santai ga tau mau baca apa, buku ini oke untuk dibaca :)
Nat is Christopher's total opposite but they are so perfect together. I loved the way Grace Graham uses the letters to bring her clients together by getting to know each other before they can meet in person. This is a sweet romance with a great ending and a great addition to The Matchmaker Series. I am loving all the novellas in this series and the covers are drool worthy. I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book.
My first Laney Powell book and I am tottally in love with your writing! I love that it is short and direct to the point! No dressing it up, no long narrations because the story does not need one. Sweetness overload as well. You cannot find a better match indeed in Natalia and Christopher. Making Christopher not a completely alpha male makes him terribly endearing! Onto the next Laney Powell book!
He works at a dating site helping couples get together but he is not interested as he has enough of love. He is signed up by his boss and he gets to meet her, he is hoping this is going to be the right girl for him. Can this shy guy get the girl? How will they get on? Will Cupid spear them both? See if Cupid works for them

Dear Shy Guy by Laney Powell a five-star read that will make you blush. This was such a sweet read, it showed us how honest you can be on paper and how compelling it can be to be yourself no matter how difficult it is to be honest with everyone sometimes even yourself. This is one of my favourites of this stand-alone series.
Powell goes for an angsty feel with Natalia and Christopher. Christopher is the guy that's always around, yet no one seems to notice. Nat is the woman of his dreams. For a man used to existing in the background can his dream girl show him how it feels to live in the spotlight? Dear Shy Guy flips the switch. The fantasy of romance becomes a reality of the heart.
A quick steamy romance – another amazing addition to “The Matchmaker” series! It is a well written, fast pace page-turner that is believable, witty, funny, and moves at a brisk pace. Loveable sweet characters; their chemistry is intense and sweet. Really enjoyable and exciting! Definitely recommended.

This was a great short story. Christopher and Nat both signed up for matchmaker. They are paired together and they begin to write letters to each other. They finally plan on meeting but things don;pt go the way they planned. After some disappointment things are explained and they give it another try. This time it works and they get their HEA.
I enjoyed this, thought I’d read all the books in this series but found this one. I love the whole premise of letter writing as a way of getting to know each other. These two complimented each other and I loved how Christopher could be himself and have confidence and not stutter around Nat or her family.
Nat and Christopher are two similar people who are looking for a lasting love. Both are skeptical of matchmaking services but as they communicate more, they believe in how it works. Even though they face a bit of drama, they find their feelings for each other and overcome it. Excellent story and well written story line!
