The book is a good introduction to Tai Chi, barebones information you need to get started. But it is difficult to learn Tai Chi from a book. Videos are much more helpful, so the dvd with this book will help you learn the movements quicker and more accurately. Dvd has beautiful music and movements are accurately depicted. However, mirroring by one demonstrator alongside rear shots of the other demonstrator would have been most helpful. I'm taking a class now and that type of demo works well.

Comes with a DVD which demonstrates what they show in book. Not a class I'd do over and over though. It's a little hard to follow since they don’t do a mirror image of the action. I can follow along mirroring them but all the verbal cues are reversed.

They do show a view from the back at the end of the DVD, but then it's hard to keep track of the arm/hand motions.

Still, it does help fine tune some of the movement.

Very interesting, very basic, very... for beginners only. It seemed like a good idea, but the moves really do require time to master. Personally, I prefer yoga when it comes to the Patience Arts.
