I am not that interested in samurais nor do I know much about it. I have watched some shows with samurai in them. they weren't that bad but they weren't that great either. Geronimo and his friends went to a country to find for the secret parchment which contains a special technique to attack someone within 5 seconds. amazing right but its difficult to get. his dream comes true and he gets karate lessons with his family members. My Favourite character in this book is Wild Willy because he is very adventurous and goes crazy . He does so many crazy fun things. My Favourite part in this story was when when they got attacked because the secret technique to defend themselves
Geronimo Stilton considers himself the most important mouse around. He is a best selling author and runs The Rodent's Gazette on Mouse Island. He fancies himself to be a scaredy mouse but has done quite a bit of traveling in spite of it. He is pretty routine when at home, for example, on Saturdays he eats a large cheese pizza, one large mozzarella milk shake, and one large cheese danish. He also always wears his pj's and cat-fur slippers. It wasn't until he received a call from Wild Willie that his routine was interrupted. You see, Wild Willie is very adventurous. When Geronimo goes out to meet Willie he finds himself in a very odd predicament. Geronimo has been bamboozled. He was put on a stage as the assistant to Willie, but not just any assistant. Geronimo has suddenly become Wild Willie's karate assistant. Photographers snapped and flashed their cameras and spectators clapped and squeaked as Geronimo was kicked, smacked and chopped by Willie. But that wasn't all, Wild Willie announces to the crowd and Geronimo's family that Geronimo will travel with him to Japan where Karate was born. Geronimo goes along with this unwelcome adventure just to save himself any further embarrassment in front of his family, with the hope he will survive the adventure. Geronimo Stilton has an exciting series of stories. Boys and girls alike will love the quirky illustrations found throughout the book and the humor they display. Bold and varied fonts make reading a lot of fun. Middle graders will learn about Tokyo, Japanese cuisine, and so many other fun facts about the culture of Japan. The back of the book shows layouts of the gazette, New Mouse City and Mouse Island.
I am read this book 3 times because of how short but fantastic it is. It teaches me a little about Japanese culture, and the book has funny events so this is sooo coool
Really interesting and funny story. Love the mystery aspect of it. I thought this one was pretty funny. I found the facts on Japan and karate very fascinating. It captivates me as a reader.
I bought this book years ago and it has been collecting dust in some random corner in my house for a long while now. Suddenly, I had the sudden urge to read it once again at around 12am for some reason (I've been experiencing a reading slump). Et voila! I finished it in one sitting at around 2:14am with Satisfied from Hamilton playing on repeat in my mind (I'm not sure why). And I loved it! I used to read a lot of Geronimo and Thea Stilton books before and it was refreshing to experience reading a book like this once again!
Geronimo takes up karate--or rather becomes an unwilling assistant to his friend Wild Willie. Later the two of them travel to Japan, answering the summons of Wild Willie's old Karate instructor, Noblemouse. He asks them to locate an ancient samurai scroll before it falls into the hands of Shrewdpaws and his evil ninja warriors.
I really enjoyed this story about Geronimo’s adventure in Japan. There were some really funny parts. I also learned a few things about pressure points and how you don’t need to be strong to win in karate!
Yet again we have a story that deals with karate. It seems like a lot of Geronimo’s adventures have to deal with karate. But it’s still an interesting story that gives some insight into a culture that I don’t know much about.
Hey, it's a Geronimo Stilton book. Informative and well-written for children. While it isn't the best of Geronimo Stilton series, this is still pretty great. Surprisingly not much information about Samurais but that's understandable.
Charlie and I hated the beginning of this book when the main character is essentially beat up against his will and no one seemed to think it was a problem. A red flag for both of us. The rest of it was good though.
I can relate to Geronimo someone who is flawed but not ashamed of his weakness. Like Neil Gaiman says "Being brave means being scared and doing the right thing"
Reading these books to my youngest daughter as her older sister loves them. They're sweet stories but also contain information about different cultures which is a plus.
