Dragons Secret Society #1

Dragon's First Shift

Rate this book

I never wanted a love story...
True love doesn’t exist for a person like me,..
Or the creature that lurks within!

Funny isn’t it, how blind people can be. Dazzled by the fancy cars and pretty girls. Tailored suits and slick haircuts. Almost all of them they fail to see the lie. Smell the stinking truth right under their up-turned noses.

I’ll soon turn twenty-five, but my life has been one big, dangerous deception. I was born into a destiny I never chose, and a war I never asked for. But the biggest secret of all is running through my veins, hidden deep within my bones. A slumbering beast, that’s only now beginning to awaken.

And right when it feels like my sanity is starting to slip, she appears. Fiery, seductive, and holding an envelope that’s about to smash my life to pieces.

I never wanted a love story. But the last thing I expected was a tragedy.

Daniel is about to turn 25 and he's going to get way more than he expects. He's not who he thought he was, there's a whole other world of paranormal he never knew, his father isn't his father, AND he's about to shift into a Dragon for the first time. Natasha was an orphan, but she's always known she was a dragon shifter and she is a trained assassin, working for an organization that takes out evil dragons. She's sent to retrieve Daniel right before he turns 25, not knowing anything about him. When the bombshells of knowledge get dropped on Daniel, I kept waiting for him to make them prove they were shifters but he just accepts that part and seems to get stuck on his father not being who raised him. While Daniel is processing the heat between Natasha and him escalates. She pushes him away and he's determined to have her. Their, 'I love you' moment happens in just a couple days and may leave you feeling like you missed the build up, but your certainly didn't miss their chemistry.

I voluntarily received this book for an honest review. In reading an arc there can be editing issues, and while there were a couple I expect they will be fixed before release. Overall I liked this story, at the end I was smiling and it was definitely an 'I am glad I read this story kind of feeling.' I was grinning as I closed this book. I'm looking forward to seeing how this series develops.

First book in a four book series.
The back cover made it sound really interesting. Let’s see shall we? .....
Natasha has a destiny to fulfil, and since being left at an orphanage as a baby, she’s worked hard to make the people who brought her up proud. And now she’s gets a chance to repay them. And she won’t let them down..... She has always know her origins, she’s aware of who and what she is, and being an assassin for an organisation that hunts rogue dragons is her life work.
Daniel turns 25 this weekend, and his father is throwing him a birthday celebration that will last all weekend!! But to be honest, that’s not what Daniel wants, all he wants is to be left alone .... to live his life his way ..... but that’s not going to happen for the most eligible bachelor in town. Called to the family home, Daniel grits his teeth and heads home.
Natasha and Daniel’s first meeting doesn’t really go to plan, as they both pull up in their own cars, both are preoccupied with their own thoughts....
Daniel is home, but under pressure from the family. He wants to say hi, then go as soon as he’s can, but that changes when a gorgeous woman literally falls into his arms. The night may have a little merit now.
Natasha is a guest. She literally falls into his arms (she trips whilst wearing too high a heel) after that encounter they bump into each other a few more times, he’s fascinated with her, she’s not really interested, she thinks he’s a pompous idiot.
But it all that changes after a dance he insists on and a passionate kiss!!
The twists keep coming, in the form of the bombshell Daniel’s father relays to him..... he’s not his real father, and he’s a dragon shifter, and your best friends are really your brothers .... oh and lovely young lady you’ve been getting close to, she’s a shifter too, and she’s here to help you..... but Daniel wasn’t aware he was a dragon shifter. And it’s strange, but the shifters never worried Daniel, what really pisses him off is the fact his father hid the truth from him, and Daniel can’t forgive the man that brought him up.
It’s a good story, a little short, and maybe a little more content and less sex would have been nice, plot is pretty good. Although it made me frown that Daniel didn’t have issues with shifters being around, but had issues with his father not being in his life (he went for 25 years believing the man he grew up with was his father) Characters are well written, the only issue I have the story, it felt a little rushed (maybe less sex and more story) especially towards the end. If this is a prequel, then it’s ok, but if this is the first book, I hope more thought is given to the amount of pages sex will occupy.
Oh ...... And the ending !!!! 🤔🤔🤔

This is the first book in a series that I voluntarily received for an honest review. First of all SPOILER it is a cliff hanger, the story just stops. But I will say that there was so much story packed into this book. Daniel has no idea what is in store for him within the next few days. The first of story is vague and mysterious that I had all kinds of thoughts running through my mind of what was going to happen and WOW when you did find out it was nothing that I expected. He has many choices and decisions to make with the next few weeks. Natasha has always know what she is and what she has trained for, yet when it is time for her assignment it is not at all what she expected.
The characters are full of mystery and personality that you just want to read more about them. So much mystery with in the book it really peeks your interest as to who is who and what is happening or going to happen. I really liked this book and look forward to the next one in the series to find out what happens next!

Personal opinion of the story. I know every author has their own directive as how a story goes or how things should be in their story so this is in no way saying I did not like the story. I find it odd that the Dragons and humans never talk to each other. By not communicating with each other it seemed as if they were two different beings not one.. Also they seem to have no history of how dragons came to be so long ago. I guess reading so many shifter books I have in my own mind how things work. These things in no way diminished the story, this author just has another view of shifters.

Paranormal Dragon Shifter Romance

He also learned about dragon shifters and that he is one along with both of his parents and brothers he always though was his best friend's
When the our heroine and hero meet there is instant attraction desire but she has to train him to be a dragon shifter and help him with his first shift and to develop his dragon powers before the dragon shifter who wishes to kill our dragon discovers where he is
Warning there is a cliff hanger

A fantastic story!
I adored the characters in this story. Daniel and Natasha are a perfect match in every way. It was fun watching them give into to their new feelings.
Daniel always felt like he never fit in, something was missing in his life. He never understood why? Until a family secret is revealed.
Natasha is sent to bring Daniel back to his father.
The connection to Natasha is strange at first for Daniel. He’s never felt such a strong connection to anyone before. Natasha makes his heart beat faster and makes him feel alive. Her touch calms and soothes his inner beast.
The spark they feel when they first meet is nothing compared to the fire that burns bright and reaches their very soul when their together.
I can’t wait for the next one in this series!

Daniel & Natasha: umm, I'm not sure how to feel about this book. there's both too much and not enough of the story for it to be enjoyable to me. 🤦🏾‍♀️🤷🏾‍♀️. I literally had to start the book over to figure out what was going on because the beginning is so slow and dry. when you have a short novella, you need to get to the point quickly, hit the books climax and bring it down. especially if this couple's story ends here or ends until a book or two down the series. not steamy enough for me, not enough action (fighting, drama) and my biggest pet peeve... spelling and grammatical errors. I know no one is perfect but isn't that what editors are for... AH, the joys of self publishing. 🤦🏾‍♀️. since this is a box set, I will read at least one more bill but right not I'm not feeling this book.

This is the start to another new series from the very talented Serena Meadows and is past series and this first book are any indication she will have another hit on her hands.

Daniel is in for the shock of his life when he discovers he is a dragon shifter something he didn't even know existed until he hit his firt change at 25 Now he has Natasha to help him though all the changes in his life she has ben sent with a letter explaining his part in a future war in the supernatural world and to help him with all the changes happening in his life. They will have to work together if they are both to survive what is heading their way and in the process they may get a HEA

I definitely liked this book, It's an interesting plot line I was not expecting. This book is a define recommend for everyone who likes a good shifter book. I do love Natasha's character and I was really sad for Scott and Daniel being left in the dark for so long but I loved how they figured it all out. I actually want more on Scott and I am hoping that the ending means there will be more adventures and we will learn more about the other characters I would love to know more.

I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.

I love a good shifter book

I loved the dragon aspect to the story. It didn’t necessarily flow as well as I thought it should, but I still enjoyed the book. I liked the back and forth between the main characters. I can’t wait to read more from them as well as read more series by this author.

Danial was soon to be 25 and was dreading the party his dad was having for him. After arriving he met Natasha but had no idea who she was. Little did he know as his party was nearing the end secrets would be told and lives would be in danger. I loved this book and can’t wait to read the next one

A good short read. We have a Daniel who’s life is going to change forever. We have Natasha who was trained to be an assassin. What will happen when everything comes out? What are the feelings they have for one another? Can they get past their attitude toward each other? I received a free copy for my honest review.

The story of Daniel and Natasha. I loved this book though I felt it was a little short but leaves the opening for the next story in line. The story is well written and the chemistry between them is sizzling. A very interesting plot and I can't wait for the next installment. Definitely recommend this book.

I received this book in exchange for a fair review. Daniel is an office executive for his father and then he turns twenty five and his life is turned upside down. A very good book, well written with fully developed characters. The only thing I didn't like was the ending. It just felt kind of rushed. I hope more is written about Daniel, Natasha, and the secret dragon society.

Dragons and CEOs

This book felt like several tropes mixed into one. Shifter, Spy, Billionaire, CEO, etc. A lot going on but not truly committing to anything. I hope the story is more filled out in future books. Good start though.

This one gets off to a slow start but it's building towards the end I think book number two well be a really fun read. There's action, romance, and some steamy sex just for good measure so I read on.

Dragon's First Shift

The book is interesting. It has some action in it but not enough for me. I loved Natasha and what her dragon finally was. Daniel was the typical rich boy until he found out that he had been living a lie his whole life.

Different

A Dragon switched at birth with a human, a child abandoned by her parents, a witch partnered with an evil shifter and both mystery and romance. What more can you want in a easy to read relaxing book

Dragon’s First Shift

The story was enticing, but with too many flow flaws. There could also have been more depth to the overall story. I mostly liked the characters, the background story and the plot. It just needs to be better developed.

New one

This story was good if a little confusing at times. Not having some important details early on really detracted from the story.
