i.... why is this on goodreads. WHY. I READ THIS AT AGE 11. THIS BOOK DOES NOT HAVE SUITABLE MATERIAL FOR 11 YEAR OLDS. DO NOT LET UR CHILDREN ON WATTPAD. I- I WAS SO INVESTED IN THE SERIES TOO I WOULD OBSESS OVER EVERY UPDATE I AHTE MYSLEDNDKSNSKQNQ
Okay, let me start off by saying I didn’t give this book a high rating because it’s an incredible piece of literature everyone should read. I gave this book a high rating because it’s a very good telling of the reality of Stockholm Syndrome. You watch the main character develop it and her descent into what is, essentially, insanity. With this being a book that is on Wattpad, there are going to be issues. There are some misspellings, grammatical errors and some general problems that do lower the book’s quality. But for being a Wattpad story, this book is incredibly extensive, realistic, and a well told story. For the content itself, be warned there are some very graphic parts that should not be read by young audiences. There is rape, killings, torture, violence, sexual abuse, mental abuse, physical abuse, swearing, and to top it all off, cannibalism. I read the book within a 24 hour period but it is not necessarily a “fast read”. The plot can be rather slow moving and is driven by the mental descent of the MC, but the plot does move. There’s foreshadowing and plot twists and lots of other good stuff but this book does have the potential to mess you up. It can be very mentally draining and challenging. With all this being said, I love this book. It’s definitely a piece of psychological horror in my opinion and not my usual cup of tea but I loved it nevertheless. If you still think you’d like to give it a shot, then have fun and prepare for a joyride like no other.

Read this book way back on Wattpad, and it is definitely one of those stories you could never forget because of how unique the plot is. It is dark, it is thrilling and it might have a hell lot of triggers but it definitely is good stuff. Never have read a book on cannibalism before this or after this.
Wow. This book was a great representation of Stockholm syndrome. I could not put this book down! It was so intriguing and I was waiting to see what would happen next. It’s a lot darker than anything I’ve read before but It was very interesting. I read the authors other stories about other members of the family on wattpad and those were just as good!
This story is crazy and I might be crazy too because I’m absolutely here for it. This is my second time reading it. My first time was years ago and I’ve always hoped for this to become a physical book so I can put it on my shelf. I’ll have to continue to cross my fingers until it happens. 🤞🏻🤞🏻
Personal Response: I found the book, Family Comes First ,by Mason Fitzy very interesting. At times it may have been a bit creepy, but I still enjoy reading it. I don’t know if I would read it more than once, though. I liked the plot very much. I am sure I would recommend this book to a friend.
Plot Summary: Juliet has grown up on her own. She has lived on her own since she was little. Julie just turns 16 when she gets a job waitressing at a club. She meets an old man named Charles, who asks if she can take a survey for him. Later that night, he follows her and kidnaps her. When she gets to the house, Charles tells her that there are certain rules of the house. She must follow them or she will be brutally punished. They tell her that she will marry his son Jimmy. She later learns that the family are cannibals. She also finds out that the reason Charles only has sons is because they kill their daughters. They claim that they have less chance of surviving. Tommy, the younger brother, does terrible things to Juliet. He tries to rape her. Jimmy is actually a nice guy with morals, but he can’t show that to Charles or he will start getting punished. Juliet finds out that she is pregnant. When Tommy is told the news, he tries to kill the baby by throwing Julie down the stairs. His plan is to kill the baby so Jimmy will be crushed and take his own life. Then he would get Juliet all to himself. She convinces him not to because she claims that it will be a girl and it will hurt Jimmy more to lose the daughter at birth. To keep up the charade, she pretends to be in love with Tommy. Charles, in an attempt to stop Tommy from doing these things to Julie, goes out and finds Jimmy a girl to marry. Tommy treats his girl very poorly. Julie tries to protect and makes a deal with Tommy to do so. Juliet finally gives birth to a baby boy. Tommy is furious when he finds this out. Charles passes away from a heart attack. Jimmy goes into town and Tommy takes this as an opportunity. Tommy tries to kidnap Julie. Tommy stabs Julie in the leg when she tries to escape. Jimmy gets Tommy and himself out of there and calls the police so Julie can get the medical care she needs. She goes to the hospital leaving Jimmy behind. Characterization: I think the person who changes the most in this book, would probably be Juliet. She is never comfortable with meeting anyone. She never had a family. She never learns to love anyone. Charles and Jimmy teach her to. She also learns to be more confident. Another character who I think changes a lot is Jimmy. He grew up in a bad home and now he is a genuinely good person. He cares for Julie and he is the one who helps her escape in the end. Setting: The location of the house is not specified in this book, but it takes place in Canada. Julie is left in a big house on a farm. The location is important to the story because it is very far away from any city. She is stuck in that house for two years because of how remote the location is. Recommendation: I highly recommend this book. It had many twists, and it is hard to tell what is going to happen next. It may have some creepy material, so I do not recommend this for anyone under the age of 13 or anyone who cannot handle scary events. I think both boys and girls would like this book because there are things both would enjoy. There is some romance, but there is a lot of action as well. I would recommend this book to a friend.

Listen there was no reading material with me last year during the month of july but wattpad and I was interested in something thriller and suspense and all that gist instead I settled on this book of a nightmare. Talk about Stockholm syndrome. I think I might have skimmed through the last bit cause I wanted to know how it ends. Wouldn't recommend this to anyone.
I've been reading and re-reading this book on Wattpad for years along with its sequels and it's sooooooooo good! The psychological aspect of it is handled really well where we see the main character start to adapt to the family's lifestyle over time either out of Stockholm syndrome and/or trauma bonding. It is just an amazing book series. If it ever comes out with a physical copy, I buy it so fast like the family grabbing strangers off their land 😂

Amazing, absolutely amazing. Should I have read it at the age I was? Nope. For a wattpad book this was an absolutely amazing read. 100% gonna re-read. Like, UGHHH had me dreaming of being kidnapped by a pycho to become someone’s wife (even tho I’m a dude) for WEEKS. this book had me HYPERFIXATED.
I've been looking for this novel on wattpad ever since I've finished reading it years ago. It freaked me out but it is one of the best and only cannibalism story I've read on the platform. I didn't even know it got published until now.

No formality with this review. Read this years ago in middle school and was captivated to reread it. Had the same grip it had on me years ago and not sure if that’s a good thing. Can’t say I wouldn’t recommend it🤷♀️
This book Stockholm syndrome’d me faster than Julie though
Writing is basic but geez what a page turner! I couldn’t put it down! I do love that at times you are rooting for the bad guys. Also it’s a well designed example of Stockholm syndrome. I also loved the twist at the end… didn’t see it coming, but worked perfectly.
This book has stuck with me since I first read it. Thrilling, exciting and wonderfully written. I could not guess what would happen next and it kept me on the end of my seat the entire time. I will forever recommend this book.
Honestly it’s the first book i remember reading on wattpad (pre the 1D, 5SOS and Harry Potter fanfics..) and it’s so good. I still remember it to this day and i’m almost 20🙈 very well written and really gripping!
When I tell you middle school aged me was SEATEDDD for this series? I was obsesseddddd and honestly still am. Have yet to have another book series give me the feeling this one did
