The sequel was just as good as the first book. Those old Wattpad days truly were golden.

Personal Response:
I find the book, Truth Comes Second ,by Mason Fitzy very entertaining. At times it is a bit creepy, but I still enjoy reading it. I would definitely read this book again. I like the plot very much. I am sure I would recommend this book to a friend.

Plot Summary:
After escaping this creepy family and their disgusting traditions, Julie stays in the hospital recovering from her injury. She suffers from Stockholm Syndrome. She wants to find Jimmy and protect him. It is hard to get to Jimmy without the police knowing. Tommy comes to visit Julie and tells her that he is going to come to get her. If she tells anyone, he will release Jimmy’s location to the police. Jimmy is actually a nice guy with morals, but Carrie, Julie’s roommate and Tommy’s wife, never saw that side of him. It is hard for Jimmy to get to Julie because he has a big scar across his face that anyone can recognize him. Julie gets released from the hospital. Jimmy decides to come to find Julie. Tommy follows Jimmy and injures him in hopes that the police will find him. Jimmy ends up in the hospital. Julie stays there with him. Carrie is watching Hunter when Tommy comes to the apartment. He injures her too. Julie is taken by Tommy when she is left unattended in her wheelchair outside the hospital along with her son Hunter. Julie manages to escape from Tommy. She calls the cops and the cops kill him while he is on the run.
Characterization:
I think the person who changes the most in this book, is Jimmy. He did not grow up in a good home, but he recognizes this and decides not to follow in his family’s footsteps. He is a genuinely good person. He cares for Julie and does everything he can to protect her and care for her. Another character who changes a lot is Carrie. She is not much of a fighter in the past, but she learns how to protect herself. She grows up in a bad home and learns how to cope with it.
Setting:
They live in Canada. The city is not specified. It takes place in Julie and Carrie’s apartment in the city. The location is important to the story because it is very hard for Jimmy to get to Julie and it makes it very easy for Tommy.
Recommendation:
I recommend this book. It has many twists and it is hard to tell what is going to happen next. It has some creepy material so I do not recommend this for anyone under the age of 13 or anyone who cannot handle scary events. I think both boys and girls will like this book because there are events both will enjoy. There is some romance, but there is a lot of action as well. I give this book a good recommendation. I give it 4.5 out of 5 stars.
