The story of a pampered, uptown rat named Roddy who is flushed down the toilet in his penthouse apartment and ends up in the London sewers. In the city of Ratropolis, he meets the lovely Rita, who might-or might not-help him to return home. But first, he must confront the villainous Toad and his henchfrogs who plan to take over Ratropolis. Roddy must learn a different way of life if he's to survive and save the world.

Sarah Durkee has had success as a writer, lyricist, comedy writer, scriptwriter and poet. Currently, her songs, scripts and poetry are featured on the PBS reading show Between the Lions, as well as on Dora the Explorer, Arthur, and others. Her writing for grown-ups includes The Book of Sequels, a collection of literary parodies co-authored with fellow National Lampoon alumni Chris Cerf, Henry Beard, and Sean Kelly. She and her husband live in New York City and have two kids.

Flushed Away by Sarah Durkee is a funny book. It takes place in England around summer. It's about a mouse ,Roddy, was flushed away from his own home by a rat. When he gets pulled up from the dirty water ( the sewer), he sees a new ''town''. To get home, he needs to find a way to get out of the dirty sewer. So he has his partner, Rita, a girl who is smart and adventurous little mouse, to help him get out and to his owners.

But things stop him from getting out. The soccer finals in England are here and an evil frog/toad is planning something evil. To find what the evil frog does and if Roddy gets home to his family, read Flushed Away by Sarah Durkee to find out!
