Rate this book
A doctor with a special gift to heal those suffering from their most horrific nightmares. His patients in desperate need to rid the demons in their sleep. But there is one catch...he must enter their night terrors, often putting their lives and souls in mortal danger.

The Beginning takes us back to how it all started for Joseph and how he came to possess his power and at times, curse. As a young boy, he discovers a dark and dangerous world within his dreams and soon, he holds his mother's life in his own hands with each action he takes in her nightmares.

Dream Psychologist, Dr. Joseph Rickettes uses the experiences from his youth to better understand his gift as an adult and help rid his patients of their demons. He is bound by the demons in their dreams, while he struggles to make sense of the nightmares that plague his own life. Each patient he sees suffers from their own unique night terrors that threaten to consume them all in their sleep, and if left unaddressed, claim their souls. Can Joseph navigate the thin line between good and evil to help his mother, and as an adult, will he continue to use his dangerous gift to help others?

If you like your fiction taking you into the dark unknown, possibly leading to the darkest depths of hell, then the Night Dreams Series will be worth the ride.

If you had the gift . . . would you use it?

I received this book as a First Reads book.
Night Dreams is a very interesting book, especially for those that are intrigued by dreams. I found it very fast paced and smooth reading. I thing it would be appropriate for anyone from young adult to adult. It captures your attention right away and in the end you want to know more.
I am looking forward to the next installment of this series.

I was looking for a series in horror and found Night Dreams #1. First time I've read A. Lopez, Jr. and his first story in the series was very good and creepy and moved at a good pace. Had me wanting to know what happens next. Would have given a 4.5 if I could. Will be looking for #2.

As the first installment of this collection, I found that Night Dreams 1 was a very interesting read. The concept of a man that can invade people's dreams and help them defeat their inner demons while in the process defeating his own, was very attractive.
I enjoyed it.

Although this is a Horror story, in my opinion it was more of a Psychological Horror. True to it's name, it was based on dreams. No, not dreams... NIGHTMARES! And I must say, it did an amazing job of describing the dreams. So much so, that you feel as though they are your dreams and not the characters.
This is definitely NOT a cliff-hanger type of story: it runs completely - beginning to end. Yet, it's also very apparent that it's the first part. I can't wait to read the next part.

A. Lopez Jr. was an extremely talented Author. I'm an INSTANT fan!
