In the shadowed streets of Toronto, there exists a garrison of soldiers like no other—nine immortal warriors, half-Archangel/half-human, living unknown amongst the city, defending humanity from the Daemons of the Hell realm. After millennia of death and violence, Lady Divinity has granted them reward for their servitude, a gift that makes her mighty warriors stronger than ever--Love.
Before his transition, Bo, the immortal Viking, had love taken from him. Now, over eight hundred years later, he has a second chance. The only problem? He's falling for the enemy.
Unhappy with her brother the Djinn Master agreeing to an alliance with the Watchers Layne joined the red-metal rebellion. She not only invaded Bo's mind and found their greatest weakness, their mates, but she got him to give the rebels access to a meeting of the newly formed Council. When she was caught he began to teach her the realities of Watcher life. When the rebels went to attack at the heart of the Watchers she needed to take a side. This is a complete book with no cheating or cliffhangers. I read this book in exchange for an honest review.
I have yet to be disappointed by this author. Her character development and the humor she infuses into her stories are consistent and woven together beautifully. I had to give this one a 4 because it feels like at least one chapter was left out. Layne's change of heart was way too abrupt for me. The explanation for what she saw in Bo after he opened to her should have come sooner maybe--I dunno. Something was missing between the links in the story for me at the end, and since I like this storyteller, I kinda feel cheated.
So. Really good read. SPOILER ALERT 🚨 Extremely disappointed there was no steamy sex with the HEAs! WTF? 🚨. Also, why no in-depth description of Bo. I had no picture in my mind of him, and I realized, I don’t have a picture of any of the warriors in my head. Author really needs to get better on the physical description of the characters so readers can envision them while reading. What color are Bo’s eyes?
This set of books are a must if you love the dark side and have men that protects the inasents of women and children then this set is for you.it has everything you need.I would like to say thank you for all your hard work and may fortune smile 😃on you always 😁from a bookworm
This is an enjoyable urban type of fantasy, well paced with a good plot. The only thing missing is possibly a fuller description of Bo, I feel he hasn't been developed quite as well as say Zander and Pheonix. Overall an enjoyable PNR read.
This story felt more like filler then the books prior. I'll be reading the next one, I just hope it's not because she's bored writing them. Maybe it's just me, because I'm really looking forward to Brennus's story.
My heart broke with the sunshine story line. I literally had tears in my eyes , it was wrote with due care on such a sensitive subject. Really liked bo's story very romantic and backwards . Very funny as Well .
No is compelled to let the enemy into home where his brother's and family live he.No is shocked when he finds out but has to fight to no left any harm come to his little Djjin as she is his mate. Now she has to prove she is loyal to the watchers
This one felt like a filler. It was informative but I don’t feel as connected to the characters as the others. Still, great story building and suspense, as well as the drop ins to the other established couples. All in all a good read.
