Never a dull moment

Tim is a retired CIA/social security worker, he has a quiet life with a new girlfriend who is the bartender and owner of the perfect pig. Everything is going along nicely until he goes to the Dominican republic to be a part of a study to cure retrograde amnesia. This is where he thinks he sees someone he knows it is not until he goes back to Baltimore that he realizes it is his old CIA buddy Sabastian, but is he there but he wants to take Tim to see his wife… Yes the one that is supposed to be dead. This is a great book there is turn off the turn. I couldn’t put it down it was so good this is the edge of your seat entertainment without a doubt!

This is a unique story about a former spy, who is involved in a car accident and as a result he has amnesia, this same car accident killed his wife or did it?
He is going out with the strangest bar maid, is she really? And to top it all off, throw in some political intrigue and you have a terrific roller coaster read.

I received a ARC from the publisher via #NetGalley in exchange for a fair review.

Tim is a retired Social security government worker in Baltimore. He was transferred from the CIA, after a road accident lead to amnesia. The loss of a large number of years of memories, including all of his time serving in the CIA. All of his memories of his late wife Pam. Pam was killed in the road traffic accident.

He has been well looked after with the best health care and a generous salary. Any attempt dig into his past is met with complete obstruction and dead ends.

Life in Baltimore is extremely mundane, until he starts to dates the owner of his local bar. Mary Ann, a biker chick is fiery and add a element of spice to life.

A "chance" conversation with a fellow bar fly leads to Tim seeking out information on Experimental Stem Cell therapy. He believes this may reverse his amnesia, and possibly stop the effect of Dementia, he believes are starting to appear.

He is accepted and after mysterious experiential treatment in the Dominican Republic , he finds that all aspects of his health improved. His memories start to return. Strangely he encounters people who he doesn’t seem to know but are strangely familiar. A strange feeling of being watched.

A gripping narrative races ahead. There are many other books set in the murky world of the CIA. This is different, in that Tim is not Jason Bourn, he is not a fictional augmented killing machine. Tim is very real and could the bloke sat with you in the bar. You can get under his skin. Set in the present time, the plot rings very true with current events. All actually quite possible and believable.

The Story moves forward and is certainly not predictable. It moves with pace and interest is held from beginning to end. There is scope here for a brand new franchise and I am really hoping that we see further story’s set in this world. In Summary a gripping and pounding page turner. Completely recommend.

First book in a series, and now I must read the sequels. Even though the first book is a standalone, the action and characters are addictive. An Everyman CIA operative with amnesia has his past unravel in many ways with a plot to take the president’s life mixed in. Alliances and betrayals abound ending in a satisfying climax. I received an advanced digital copy of this book from NetGalley and the publisher in exchange for an honest review.

I received this book for free. I am voluntarily posting this review and all opinions expressed herein are my own.

What a unique roller coaster ride! A man who believes he is a CIA operative but has no memory and no one believes him. He participates in, what he believes, to be a medical treatment to help restore his memory loss only to learn - he was actually a CIA operative. This was very entertaining.

The narrator, Kathy Bell Denton, did a fine job. However, I wish, since the MC was a male that the narrator was male - and this slightly took me out of the story. Overall, the narration was competent.

A CIA canal to kill a president who, while it named, sounds remarkably like the present occupant of the White House is the plot that drives this pedestrian thriller. It's all made murkier by a former spy with amnesia, the wife he thinks us dead, the strangest bar maid in recent memory, and a few other diversions. Mostly it's an exercise in wish fulfillment for one side of the political divide and a cause for teeth-gnashing for the other
