Raised by white men, Indian Touch the Sky does not fit into either community, but he is determined to try to fit in with the Cheyenne and sets out into the wilderness to prove himself worthy. Original.
The Cheyenne series of historical westerns remains the only long-running westerns series in which I've read every volume. There were a total of 22 volumes. The author, Judd Cole, is someone I know, and he is a professional writer who writes both quickly and well. These books are told from the Cheyenne point of view, with a native American character who was raised by whites but returns to the Cheyenne as a young man. He is not completely accepted there either, and he finds many adventures on his way to being accepted by his people.
These are fast paced stories with a sympathetic hero and a lot of action and adventure. I highly recommend them all.
