"Knowing exactly what you want in life is the first principle of wealth attraction. You must decide on specific goals that you want to achieve and be very clear about those goals and their importance in your life. The key is to keep that goal in the forefront of your mind and be open to adjusting it as new opportunities arise." (Andres Pira, Homeless to Billionaire)

Written by billionaire, Andres Pira. Actually, at the end of the book (About the Authors), you will discover that his billionaire status is in Thai dollars at 1.8 Billion THB, which is equivalent to $32,900,500.00 United States Dollars. So, a millionaire, not a billionaire. The book could have been appropriately named Homeless to Millionaire, but may not have sold as many copies. To me, the Authors should have disclosed this at the beginning of the book, and not toward the end. Nevertheless, the Author is rich, but not as rich as a billionaire.

His story is one of inheriting some money, leaving home, and flying to Thailand. After his money was gone, he became homeless and had to survive. He met some people who helped him out along the way, and eventually started working for a real estate company handing out flyers. One day, a real estate agent was not able to meet a customer; therefore, he took this opportunity, and sold the property. He was then promoted to realtor, and became successful selling. After this stint, he started his own real estate business, and became a developer. He then became very wealthy.

He shares 18 Principles of Wealth Attraction in this book, which are:

1. Lead A Laser-Focused Life

2. Take Risks, Responsibility, and Action

3. Focus on "I AM"

4. Thinking Time: Make It a Priority

5. Celebration Creates Addiction to Progress

6. The Law of Vibrational Giving

7. Gratitude

8. Have Ideas So Massive Others Get Uncomfortable

9. Be Passionate

10. Master Your Emotions

11. Wake Up Expecting Problems

12. Embrace Apology

13. Fit Body, Stronger Mind

14. Pay More, Give More, Keep More

15. Perfect Mimicking and Mentorship

16. Invest In Your Employees

17. Value Positivity Over Results

18. Do. Be. Go. Have

My favourite chapter was the last chapter, Do. Be. Go. Have.. He says, "We only get one life, and if you live it the right way, one life is more than enough. I advocate living a life of "Do. Be. Go. Have."

Do the actions necessary to attract wealth and unlimited opportunity into your life.
Be focused on bringing your future into reality.
Go think, risk, and believe more than you feel comfortable in achieving.
Have the confidence and faith that you can do it...I discovered early that you don't need to travel far to live life to the fullest. It can start with you and where you are living now. However, you must "Do. Be. Go. Have."

This book is part autobiographical and instructional on wealth attraction, and was co-written with Joe Vitale, one of the speakers featured in the famous The Secret video. An interesting story in this book is that when the Author was broke, he phoned his friend to help him with some money. The friend declined to send him money, and instead sent him the book The Secret. After this, he became a learning magnet and started studying other authors like Brian Tracy, Jim Rohn...

I didn't agree with everything in this book, and he advocates the teachings of Buddism, and some of the books he mentions are New Age and vain, and can lead people astray. Also, his teaching on vibrational giving is interesting, but says you only get 10 fold when we give. I'll believe Jesus instead when He said, you would receive 30, 60, or 100 times what you give. (See Matthew 13:8).

Watch out for the weeds among the wheat when you read.

Ok, look. I read a comment where someone referenced this book/author so I downloaded it as a free read. I thought it was about the story of a guy who went from being homeless to a billionaire (like the title says!). I failed to read the subheading which talks about “wealth attraction principles”. That’s on me.
But less than an hour into this, I realized it wasn’t an autobiographical description of his rags to riches story, but a visualization/actualization book disguised as a narrative. Spends a minute on his homeless night and then the rest of the book on positive thinking and other splendid nonsensical wishful thinking. “Work hard, stay positive, avoid negativity, be generous, and take risks.” Just saved you a credit ;)

“I am a high school dropout with no higher intelligence than you. I came to a country with no knowledge of the local language or culture. Worse, I had no money, and slept on the beaches of Phuket with a suitcase for a pillow.”

Today, Andres Pira is one of Thailand’s largest real estate developers, with holdings in the billions. In his new book, Homeless to Billionaire – The 18 Principles of Wealth Attraction and Creating Unlimited Opportunity (ForbesBooks), he tells his remarkable story and shares the framework from which others can unlock their full potential and obtain their life goals.

Rags-to-riches stories are inspirational and motivating, and this one is no exception. So what makes this book different from the others of its genre?

As Jack Canfield, co-author of Chicken Soup for the Soul, says in his foreword, “I’ve worked with millions of people worldwide who generally want to learn the principles I teach. Andres was different. He wanted proof.”

And so do millennials, receptive as a group to learning and to new ideas but questioning and demanding of proof before complying.

Pira, according to Canfield, represents that new generation of transformational leaders who deliver on what the new generation is looking for. That’s likely because he was a skeptic himself until he was able to put acquired knowledge into practice in the real world.

Hits every cliche and sharp corner in the positive thinking world hugging universe of karma garage sale.

However, just let go for a while and listen to him. Temper your cynicism and nuggets of truth are there. The delivery may be over the top but somehow you can’t help but like the writer and his optimistic outlook and simple truths.

It was an inspiring book! Andres share with us his 18 principles that helped him achieve massive success from the point he became literally homeless at a foreign country. Andres has a special perspective about business and success and I enjoyed reading this book.

"knowledge is not what gets us what we want in life—it is putting that knowledge into action." p. 18

"I was living a life without focus, without knowing what I wanted to do, be, or have in life. I walked through life not connecting my choices to my outcomes." p. 23

"Knowing exactly what you want in life is the first principle of wealth attraction. You must decide on specific goals that you want to achieve and be very clear about those goals and their importance in your life. The key is to keep that goal in the forefront of your mind and be open to adjusting it as new opportunities arise." p. 27

"successful leaders share a trait with some of the wealthiest people in the world: writing down their goals. The research supports it, the masters preach it, and my own experience has proven it to me. Writing down goals is nonnegotiable. Each year I write down 101 goals that I will achieve in the next twelve months. It works! I make it a big part of running my companies." p. 27

"1. Write down all the things you don’t want in life. 2. Once you have nothing left to write, draw a line after the last thing you don’t want in life. 3. Then, on a new sheet of paper, write the opposite of what you just wrote. For example, if you wrote, “I don’t want to be poor,” then on your new sheet of paper write, “I want to be rich.” If you wrote, “I don’t want to be alone,” then write the opposite, “I want to be in a relationship.” And so on: I don’t want to be sick—I want to be healthy. I don’t want to be stuck here forever—I want to travel and see new things. 4. Once you have completed your opposite list, make a third list: “What can I start doing today?” p. 28

"When you set a new goal, always ask and answer these three questions: How will that item or experience look in detail when I receive it? How long do I give myself until I reach it? How will I feel and act when I achieve it?" p. 31

"Taking personal responsibility means not blaming others for your unhappiness. It means figuring out ways you can be happy despite others’ (negative) behaviors and despite external circumstances." p. 39

"It is useful to think of the ability to control your emotional response to a specific event as a muscle. Just as your biceps become stronger only when you exercise them, if you allow relatively minor incidents—like an encounter with a rude waitress—to spoil your mood, how can you expect to maintain your happiness when a more extreme event—like a weeklong visit from an unpleasant relative—happens?" p. 40

"While this may seem silly or a waste of time to you, consider that if you can control your mind, you can control your life. Your mind is mostly a subconscious machine when you consider all of the things it has you do without conscious thought, like breathing. Focusing forces the mind to reprogram itself." p. 46-47

"Be alone, that is the secret of invention; be alone, that is when ideas are born." —Nikola Tesla (p. 50)

"Crisis enters our life because we lose personal focus and inner confidence." p. 52-53

"I was surprised to discover that the same substance that gets people hooked on gambling, nicotine, and alcohol essentially creates an addiction to progress." p. 60

"We’ve all heard about the “runner’s high,” the result of endorphin levels rising. Helper’s high occurs when people perform good deeds for other people. In other words, it’s a classic example of nature’s built-in reward system for those who help others. After spending so many years finding my “high” in unhealthy ways, I was fascinated by this concept." p. 67

"The first step to switching on your gratitude mindset is to start internally and feel gratitude for yourself, your gifts, and what you have accomplished. Being grateful internally is very challenging because it can often make us feel selfish or egotistical. It is an odd feeling to appreciate yourself and your gifts." p. 74

"The mind is its own place, and in itself can make a heaven of hell, a hell of heaven." —John Milton (p. 78)

"Make [your idea] so grand that, when you describe it, people get uncomfortable." p. 79

"For an idea to grow big and expand, you must accept the harsh realities of life and respond by adjusting where needed but never shrinking. To think big is to do big." p. 87

"By answering these questions honestly, you can work out what to do with the rest of your life: What subject could you read five hundred books on without getting bored? What could you do for five years straight without getting paid? What would you spend your time doing if you had the financial freedom to do anything? . . . You don’t have to be great at something to be passionate about it. If you can’t imagine not doing something, it’s a passion." p. 90

"If I were to share my goals with everyone, most would say that I will never be able to do that, or have that, or be that person who has that achievement in life. That’s the type of negativity I don’t need in my life, especially when a new inspired idea comes to me. My rule of thumb when it comes to my personal goals is that I only share them with people who can help me achieve them. Many times, that includes not sharing my goals with my family. While I love my family, and I know they will always support me in whatever I put my mind to, I don’t need them to doubt me for one second. Therefore, I keep my goals close to my heart, and I never let anybody rain on my parade. I want to keep the energy up and growing when it comes to my goals, and that usually means keeping them to myself." p. 98-99

"Once you fill your mind with the details of what you want to achieve and then take action to do just that, you’ll be able to prove your doubters wrong. Work with me as we prove them all wrong. There is nothing more satisfying. Use any form of outside negativity from others as fuel for the fire that burns inside you; passion propels you toward success. You can do it, no matter how big your goal is, no matter how challenging, regardless of what other people tell you. Deep down inside, believe you will succeed." p. 99

"Principle 11: Wake up expecting problems." p. 100

"Remember, you can be wealthy just because of what you have learned from the life experiences you’ve overcome and conquered. You are capable of doing anything, of triumphing over any problem and gaining every bit of knowledge you need to succeed and see your goals accomplished." p. 108

"When I started to push myself farther and farther to achieve the 101 goals I set for myself each year, I researched the habits of other highly successful people. How did they accomplish so much in the same twenty-four-hour period I had to accomplish things? How did they increase their output of great ideas? As with anything, study habits and you will uncover the formula for success." p. 117

"If a business is always looking to maximize profit, it focuses on cutting expenses whenever possible—including employees’ wages. The truth is that most companies pay employees as little as they can get away with. That’s the perfect way to encourage workers who will, in turn, provide as little effort as they can get away with. This is a backward way of thinking about compensation. A profit-first mentality of paying the lowest-possible wages ultimately cripples employee performance and engagement and damages your bottom line." p. 123

"Whatever you want to be, find a person who already has achieved it, and just do it." p. 133

"A mentor has also “been there, done that, and survived it!” The point of having a mentor is so that you can learn from their mistakes and their innovations. A mentor gets you to your goal faster through previous knowledge." p. 135

"Our modern world has fallen into a deep lie: most people believe that once we finish school, we stop learning, or that there is no more to discover in our fields, and we don’t need to continue developing ourselves. We only start learning about ourselves and our unlimited human potential after we have graduated." p. 136-37

"Great minds discuss ideas; average minds discuss events; small minds discuss people." —Eleanor Roosevelt (p. 142)

"Negative people with an aversion to learning need to be cut from your team immediately." p. 146

"One of the most difficult things to do is separate yourself from bad conversations. However, when you do it, your life transforms overnight." p. 146

"If I ever end up in a negative conversation somewhere in public, I always make sure to excuse myself and pretend that I have to make an urgent phone call or go to the restroom. I refuse to get dragged down by negative energy—that leads to more problems in life and business. The same thing is true in business." p.147

"Put distance between you and any negative people as quickly as possible. You always become the sum total of the people around you." p. 149

"You can get help from teachers, but you are going to have to learn a lot by yourself, sitting alone in a room." —Dr. Seuss

"Forget about the usual rat race, the same routines and habits of everyday life, and change your thinking. Get out and enjoy life! The world is yours to see and conquer. We are meant to see the magnificent wonders of this amazing heaven on earth." p. 163

I liked it a lot pretty handy and practical read. Even if you don’t become fabulously wealthy from the principles - not saying you won’t! - I think it would improve most people’s lives in general. It’s pretty inspiring as well.

One minor point - the author is a billionaire in Thai Bhat not USD. It feels slightly disingenuous BUT I admit the title is better this way 🤣 takes nothing away from the books message though and he’s still much richer than the average Joe

"Homeless to Billionaire: The 18 Principles of Wealth Attraction and Creating Unlimited Opportunity" is a compelling guide that offers readers a rare glimpse into the mindset and practices that can transform dire circumstances into astounding success. This book was a decent read with good principles for success

The Book Is Part Autobiography, Part Success Workbook, And 100% Life Lessons As Pira Details How To Move From Fear To Inspiration, Competitiveness To Domination, And Student To Mentor In Business.

His Call To Action Is For Readers To Live Their Legacy Every Day.

My takeaways

1- Write down 101 goals I will achieve in the next 12 months

Write down all things I don't want in life

and on new sheet write “I do want to”

Then do a “what can I do today list” that brings those goals closer

2- Dont get gifts on your birthday give gifts instead For example volunteer your time

It is the law of vibrational giving.
Giving with pure heart not to get anything in return.

Great example:
Toms shoe company that give a pair of shoes to impoverished kids for every shoe bought in America

3- Wake up everyday expecting problems —fear comes from being unprepared.

Have the anticipation that you can positively have a solution

4- Respect the old when you are young
Help the week when you are strong
Confess when you are wrong
Because one day you will be old week and wrong

Great advice in wealth and business the authors best piece of advice

Can't.

I'm not going to make it.

I don't have the knowledge.

I don't have the money.

Some of the multiple excuses we make up for not being happy in life.

"Homeless to Millionaire" is the story of a lost soul, born, perhaps, where he should not have been born, with no goals in his life (despite the fact that his parents gave him the best education), and whose youth was spent between alcohol, drugs and criminal gangs.

Interesting (it happened to me) how on one occasion she heard a voice that in her case told her: “you are much more than what you appear to be”, “you are not what you show now”. And that was not a moment of enlightenment but the beginning of a change.

And so, Andres Pira tells us about his path, which shows me that we all have hope and can get where we want. His 18 laws for success in life were all familiar to me, but knowing them is one thing and applying them is another.

Excellent book.

Great book on success and success principles from an author who had experienced life from rag to riches. The 18 principles to wealth are those Andrew Pira used to turn his life around... from homelessness to a billionaire lifestyle. The book is well written and full of valuable researched information to validate the claims in the book. I would recommend the book to anyone that need inspiration and insight on how to make success of their present situation and circumstances.

I enjoyed reading the book and will action most of the ideas. I've given the book a five star because the ideas are very practical. You can discover the mindset, skillset and the vehicles which enabled him to win. The book will give budding entrepreneurs strategies and systems to create a flourishing business empire. Very interesting read.

Many entrepreneur books are similar and I was hoping this book would provide a unique look at running a successful business. Overall, I was quite happy with what I learned. All of his principles are very important and I am glad that I follow many of these principles in my life already. However, I felt like he was over the top at times. I really appreciate how positive he continues to be and I believe that plays a major role in his success. An area where he went over the top was when he said to ban gossip at a company. I wish he provided more stories to support his claims. Whenever he provided an anecdote I learned more. Sometimes it felt like he was just preaching. Nonetheless, I still learned a few new perspectives and would recommend this book to others.

Good book! A combination of self help and auto-biography. Didn’t really go into the details of how he got started, other than he got a few breaks and worked hard. Some of the main points that I liked

- set goals, write them down

- meditate

- positive affirmations

- visualize yourself achieving the goals

- vibrational giving - give with the attitude of charity with no expectations and you will receive

- be kind and you will receive kindness

- gratitude - be grateful for small daily acts during day. Verbalize gratitude, spend 10 minutes each day thinking I’d thinks you are grateful for

- have big thoughts, take action

- master emotions, stop worrying and being fearful

- solve problems by 1- rethink the question, 2- brainstorm bad ideas, right down ideas, don’t look for the perfect idea 3- challenge rules

- embrace apology, take responsibility when you are wrong

- fit body, strong mind. take care of your body, it is the only place you have to live in.

- life will always be busy, there is never a perfect time to start anything new, just do it!

- pay more, give more, keep more

Homeless to rich. For anyone who is or has been homeless, becoming rich can seem even more of an impossible dream than for those who have stable accomodation. Yet so many people have done just that. Dr John Demartini did it. Dr Joe Vitale did it. And in this book, Vitale's co-author, Andres Pira, has done it. The difference with Pira is he was first a student of all the classic personal development teachers and set out to prove their ideas didn't work by acting on them. In this book, he shares the adventures that resulted from learning that personal development does work. If you want to see how business intersects with personal development and wealth creation, this is the book for you.

Mindset wealth

Great book! I read this book 3x fantastic mindset the author has. I have to say it all starts with our minds if we want to achieve something in our lives. I highly recommend this book to anyone in personal development industry or discovering themselves to read this book after Napolian hill and Robert Kiyosaki or Brian Tracy books.
This book is a great personal development and personal growth book.

Not much new in the book in terms of success principles but nice affirmation that all those books work. The tiny personal story portion of the book was the best part.

The overall score is low because the chapters are listed as chapter 1, chapter 2, and so on. This is audio book on Audible; it seems the conversion to audible version was lazy; the chapters should have been named to make it easy for the listeners.

I don't know if this guy is an actual billionaire but he has an interesting story. The advice he gives is valuable to business owners and freelancers. He has an interesting take on goal setting and leveraging your skills/passions. The takes are different from the other books out there. It's a short book, broken down into several short chapters. That makes it easy to skip around to the advice that right for you.

Billions in Thai baht. Yeah, he’s not actually a billionaire. Second, all of his ventures are now failed and I guess investors are looking for their money back. I’m waiting for an episode of American Greed on this guy. The book itself was just okay and very vague on how to actually get from point A to point B. I agree that mindset is super important, but there’s a lot more to making money than just visualizations and treating people well. Seemed fluffy.

Overall, the book is inspiring in short bursts by providing nuggets of mostly conventional wisdom, but it was interesting to read how he manages his companies with his personal philosophy. Sounds like a great leader. Would love to implement but certain chapters made me wonder "how" do you get to that point. I'm hoping to send this to my family.

The authors story is incredible and relatable. He comes across very honest and humble. This book is part biographical and part motivational. I totally agree with knowing your purpose and goals and how to use positive energy in the work place and believing in visualisation to achieve your desires. Andres Pira story is truly a rags to riches

I would have loved to hear more about his story, he mostly teaching common success concepts.

He joined a gang always in trouble no money homeless but a friend offers a book (the secret - law of attraction) that book was catalyst to changing his thinking. He hates the book and tried to prove it was wrong but then found it did work

He's a billionaire in Thailand, not the U.S.

$28M net worth is still very impressive. There's much to learn from this book if you are attending the school of hard knocks on your way to success.

I know the things he says are true because I've used those same visualization techniques to create actual physical manifestations and situations. I recommend this book 📖 👌.

Nothing is difficult for God

This book is a live demonstration that whatever desire you have, God will fulfill as long as you are not hasty. You say I prayed and I prayed and I did not see a response.

Wow!

I am so happy that I have come across this book. Excellent ideas that make sense. It is really good to read. I am curious to apply the principles and see what comes up. Well done!
