Will read again and again.

What a wonderful story to teach children kindness and how to be confident about themselves. This is a short rhyming story with soft illustrations and is almost like a mantra for children. It teaches them by examples on each page about being calm, kind, having manners, not giving up etc... I read it to my 5 year old and she loved it.

What a beautiful, inspirational and uplifting story for children!

I very rarely leave reviews, but I felt the need to do so with this book. As a mom of 5 beautiful children of many ages, I have watched them go through many stages and emotions, which I remember also experiencing growing up. This book not only is joyful and very uplifting for children (and adults too), but it also helps to build their self esteem, their self worth, and learn to truly love who they are inside and out! Something else I love so much about it is that it teaches them how powerful the words they speak and think are and how much value they hold, for themselves and others as well. It’s so important that they learn early on how to eliminate or push aside negative self talk or feelings about themselves and the more they practice positive self talk and affirmations such as the ones provided in this book, the happier and more successful in life they will be! I wish I would’ve had this book at a young age because as an adult, I know how important these things are and this is one extra tool in their toolbox to help them navigate through life a little easier and learn to have a positive outlook in general. Thanks to the amazing author for making such a wonderful, magical book available for all of us parents out here to read to our children! I would absolutely recommend to all families and hope that it helps everyone in their parenting journeys! To the author: Please keep writing/creating more of these books! They are so very appreciated and I’m very grateful to have came across this! ❤️

The illustrations in this book have racial overtones relative to general media implications of racism without outright writing anything overtly racist. You think the affirmations are positive until you view the pictures from a black perspective. For example the little black girl is dressed up as a clown for the amusement of the little white girl. It also promotes the perception of beauty as blonde and blue eyed. Why not exemplify all of the children as beautiful, strong, etc.?

There are people that don’t believe racism is taught.
This is not overt but subtle, yet one picture can do more damage than a thousand words. Even though it should be, it may not even be conscious in the minds of the author/ illustrator. But in today’s climate if you are going to write for the benefit of all children then one should want to be more responsible. Sadly many people reading these affirmations to their children may not realize they are promoting prejudice in our society.

I was so kindly gifted a copy of this book for review.

The fun rhyming scheme of this book makes it an easy read and easy for little ones to follow along.
It is so important to teach positive affirmations to our kids and teach them that their words have power.
Coupled with the wonderful message of this book are the beautiful illustrations. The images are vibrant and inclusive.

The Magic of Me My Magical Words is fun, colorful and a great teaching tool. I highly recommend this book.

Great Esteem building book

Awesome illustrations that bring the text to life. Reminds me if I LIKE MYSELF with message and rhymes.

Read to my K student. Think the older ones would like too. Great message for self management and good opportunities to discuss during the reading. Although kids said book was long because we stoped during too many times to discuss. Maybe pick a couple of different pages to discuss each time you read.

A strong four stars for this chunk of positivity, brought to the world for 2022 in a new de luxe edition, apparently. The rhymes are perfectly sustained, as the young audience is demanded to say they are beautiful, smart, giving, strong, health-conscious, and all manner of positive things. If anything, the art – while a little busy with throwing in unnecessary cats and mice – has more craft even than the script. It looked de luxe already.

After reading this book even I felt better about myself as an adult. The illustrations are not only beautiful, they are interesting. I loved the diversity (different races, genders, a child in wheelchair, etc.) of this book. It is very inclusive. It is a book you can snuggle up with your child and have discussions about what makes them magical. Loved it!!

Beautiful story and lovely illustrations

This is such an encouraging book for children to learn about diversity and acceptance no matter how different they are. I also loved how the text was laid out on the illustrations and changed colours, fonts and sizes. The rhyming is also wonderful and makes it easy for kids to read and enjoy.

A Positive Affirming Book

This is a sweet read. Each page starts with an affirmation that is described in the text. The book also encourages kids to act out the affirmation by performing motions that go with each. You can tell this was written by a teacher as speaking, reading and moving hit several learning styles.

"My Magical Words" follows a girl who learns that her words can hold magic and they can shape how someone feels about themselves and others. Themes in this book are expression, empathy, and community. I would keep this book in my library and I would read it to kindergarteners to teach them to be kind to one another.

I love this book because it helps kids understand how to love themselves. I would use this in my classroom by reading this the first week to send a message to my students that they are loved and cared for so therefore they should love and care about themselves.
