Dirty Fairy Tales #2

Not So Prince Charming

Rate this book
He’s the hunter.
I’m his prey.

I've been sleepwalking through life—not living, just existing—working toward a future where I can actually breathe.

Until HE walks in.

Gabriel Jackson.
With his boy next door charm and dimpled grin, he jolts me awake.
He makes me want to feel the dark heat he promises. To live in the hunger lurking behind his brown eyes.

But life isn't a fairy tale, and things aren't always as they seem.
My Prince Charming is the devil in disguise. A wolf in sheep’s clothing.
And I’m the sacrificial lamb.

He may have had ulterior motives when we first met.
But now, the fallen angel is my guardian angel.
My knight in tarnished armor.
My Not So Prince Charming.

--------------Happy Reading -------------------

ღ . ‘I must warn you this book gonna draw you in from the 1st page. It’s a twisted tale about one man who wanted a woman killed over something that she might have said or done, or just maybe cuz she associated with someone he dislikes
➦Another man is searching for answer that he desperately needs to know, but in the process seem to have lost his humanity, or has he? That question with be answer hopefully by the end of this tale

➦She a hard-working woman, try to survive in world that doesn’t want to give her any breaks. See she lost her parents & her older brother at young age to tragic accident, only to barely scrape by with her loving aunt. But then she lost her to cancer. Now she got one man stalking her to kill her, and another man that is down right creepy that wants her to pay off her land loan with her body

➦I must say this book can be read as standalone book, I would recommend you reading Mia & Thomas’s book “Beauty and the billionaire”. That’s where we 1st meet Charlotte, Mia & Izzy- we also course meet Thomas, in the background we have the asshat in a tower with a narcissistic God complex. Like some Evil King of Roseboro. Who likes to play games with people’s lives

➦I love the aspect of the corporate espionage hidden in the background. I maybe not like Blackwell tactics & the games he might play. if you sit back & think about it, this what draw you in besides all the steamy scenes & the romance

➦ next up I hope is Charlotte’s book & very soon please MS Landish

----------------------- Enjoy -----------------

📚 Hope you enjoy this read & also always keep in mind this is just my opinion

➦ 💕 I received an EXCLUSIVE copy of this book in exchange for my honest review of it. 💕

Not So Prince Charming is the second book in the Dirty Fairy Tale series. You can read it as a standalone, but it may be better if you read Beauty and the Billionaire first. There are some spoilers about the first novel and what happened there has a consequence in this one. The big villain is still the same. I liked it that we get some chapters from his point of view, so I know what he’s thinking or doing. But I don’t like that man at all.

I really liked Not So Prince Charming. It was as great as Beauty and the Billionaire. I’m going to be vague, because I went in blind and I loved finding out everything. There were twists and turns, suspense and danger. There was also romance and steamy scenes.

Gabriel and Isabelle are great characters. Gabriel is strong, determined, ruthless and distant. Something tragic happened in Gabriel’s past and he has been looking for answers since. He would do anything for it. Gabriel is one of the best in his job, but that has been keeping him from falling in love. But his feelings for Isabelle are too strong to ignore.

Isabelle is sweet, kindhearted, hardworking, passionate and reliable. She goes to college and has a job. Isabelle is struggling, but she’s doing everything to keep going. She has experienced a lot of losses, but she has amazing friends. Isabelle isn’t too sure what to think about Gabriel at first, but she keeps running into him. The attraction is definitely there. I adore Isabelle and Gabriel together. They belong together.

It was an OK experience. I think Miss Landish goes OTT with the romance. I want to see more development from Gabriel. He had such tragic past and I want that to be developed more into his character building.

While Bella is typical damsel in distress. I did not read this book in order. But I think it is better if the book was read in order to understand. There is a red line connecting the whole series together.

I miss the comedy in the banter. Usually Miss Landish is good incorperating some comedy in the banter.

Overall, OK read.

Awakening Hearts

Sleep, school and work...repeat. That is the extent of Isabella's life in a nut shell. She has struggled all her life with devastating personal tragedies, but has remained strong and independent. But all that takes a 360 degree turn when she meets Gabriel Jackson. As soon as their eyes meet, the electricity cackles between them. But Gabriel has an agenda and it does not include romance and a HEA.

Isabella is attracted to this dark and dangerous stranger and she quickly discovers he has a sinister side and that he is capable of cruel acts of suffering. Gabriel has never been the same after the horrific murder of his brother and his mission in life is to vindicate his death. But Gabriel sees another way of life through the eyes of Isabella. Gabriel and Isabella have an attraction and common bond with each other that cannot be denied. Gabriel needs to dig deep to make decisions that are out of his comfort zone.

This is a passionate heart gripping story and tense throughout. I look forward to reading more in this series.

Isabella is barely making ends meet and she works so hard to hold onto what little she has. Somehow (it is very unclear how), she becomes the target of an influential businessman's ire and he takes out a hit on her. Gabriel is the assassin tasked with the job; however, he doesn't kill innocents and he determines that Isabella is one. He also starts to fall for her the more he learns about her. Once Gabriel determines that the businessman isn't going to just let Isabella go if he refuses to kill her, he concocts a plan to keep her safe.

This whole book asked me to go along with a lot of things that I didn't want to readily believe and I feel like the reward for doing so wasn't enough. Maybe if the smut was better I would have been too distracted to notice that picking Isabella as a target for assassination didn't make any sense - even at the end. There were some cryptic hints and then around the 3/4 mark, the author mentioned the reason but didn't really go into any details. I also felt that whenever we were getting somewhere with deeper character development, the author pulled the plug on it. I wanted a better connection with the characters but it fell short. All in all, it was just "meh" for me.

Not so Prince Charming by Lauren Landish a five-star read that will charm you. This is the second novel in the Dirty Fairytale Series and can be read as stand-alone, we do meet the other couple and characters, but each has their own story. This isn’t my favourite read by this author, but I did enjoy it, Gabriel shows us his dark side and his wings, he has such depth that they will bind you with their light. He is so much tastier than anything they could serve in the Gravy Train. Isabella is a character you will warm to and one you would love to be able to help.

I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book. I’m so in love with this book. Izzy is amazing, she is smart, sassy and bull headed and will never accept help from anyone, she wants to make it on her own, but every now and then we all need a little help. When Gabe started showing up around the diner, he's gorgeous, sexy, all man and he's peaked her interest, made her feel things she didn’t think she’d feel again. Gabe kept coming around, making her smile, making her laugh, getting to know her, little does she know that she’s the reason he’s in town. Gabe has been hired by Mr. Blackwell, you remember him, don’t you? Crazy jealous of Thomas and Mia, trying everything he could think of to set up Thomas to take the fall and ruin him financially. Well Izzy had a small part in helping Thomas get the insider who was helping Blackwell with his evil deeds and now he’s got his sights on Izzy and he wants her gone. That’s where Gabe comes in, he’s not who she thinks he is, he’s not a nice man, he’s cold, calculated, has rules and a moral code that he never strays from. He’s been hurt by tragedy and that has molded him into the person he is today, but the light and sunshine that Izzy brings to the table, makes him feel lighter and happy and that’s foreign to him and doesn’t feel derserving. All he wants to do is protect her from Blackwell and also her landlord Russell who doesn’t know how to take a hint and get lost. Things are starting to spiral out of control and Izzy’s safety is in jeopardy, and when she catches Gabe in the act of violence, how is she going to feel towards him? Will she run as fast and as far a she can, or will she hear him out and then decide what to do? Love has a funny way of fogging your glasses, so you can’t really see what’s in front of you, and if this is happiness, maybe Izzy should take a closer look at the man standing in front of her and ask the question, is Gabe really worth all of this? I guess you will have to read for yourselves to find out what happens with these two. Loved this book, great read, their story is, steamy, sexy, suspenseful with a little danger wrapped up in a big red bow. I highly recommend this book!

This was a good easy pace read and i enjoyed this book in this series!! You can read it as a standalone but i would recommend you reading the first book to know some of the key players.

Gabriel has been spying, looking learning and trying to figure out why he is being let to kill this girl, he has a rule no killing innocents even if he really wants to know who was responsible for his brothers death. The more he learned about bella the more he knew she wasnt evil and he was slowly falling for her, Gabe was everything and then some he did lie to bella about his job but he never really lied about his life he was 100 up front about his past expect the hitman part lol. As for bella she had a tough life.. death all around her working to the bone to keep her family home i just wanted to wrap her in a bubble and give her all the happy things. Their relationship gets messy when the truth comes out.. and i enjoyed how he groveled and told her the truth but i did wish she made him grovel way more 😭😭😭

Few parts broke my heart when they faked her death and how real he had to act.. my heart broke.. him acting like a cold hearted killer to show proof he killed her, and the 2nd one.. lets just say.. Jericho got his in the end.. that hurt my fingers writing this..

I honestly wanna know why the fk blackwell hates thomas so much.. like? I wanted Gabe to already kill him.. his story on hating Thomas is annoying now..

Low angst, no ow/om drama, no cheating,  drama, steamy sex, secondary charas, not a virgin not a manwhore

Reccomend- maybe

I AM SO CONFUSED AS TO WHY THIS GIRL WAS THE TARGET. LIKE WTF.

Not So Prince Charming was a weird ass book. It gave me interesting characters, Isabella and Gabriel.. but I felt so lost and confused throughout this book. Yeah, there was a creepy villain but we didn't really know much about him or why Isabella was a freaking target in the first place. It was kind of all based about assumption.. so yeah - it was weird.

Then there's Gabriel who is the hitman but falls in love with her vagina. I mean her. Even when she finds out the whole truth.. she is like no, I can't trust you but yet I will go anywhere with you at the same time. AGAIN, it was weird and something was definitely off in this book.

The romance, whenever we got it, was hot and good but I just couldn't fully support anything happening. Maybe if I would've understood things a bit more - then, yeah I'd be all up in that. I might dive into the next book.. but I'll probably have to dip into the first book just to see if ANYTHING makes sense.

So good!!!

Gabe is a hit man contracted to kill Izzy (whom he calls Bella). But he realizes she is an innocent and his code of ethics won't let him kill her. Instead he falls for her, because dispute the hardships of her life, she is still working to better herself. She attends college classes during the day and works at a diner during the evenings and weekends to pay for school and the basic necessities.

This was a really good book with an engaging and suspenseful plot. I'm looking forward to reading the next book.

This was a great second book in the Dirty Fairy Tale series by Ms Landish. In this book we learn of what Izzy is up against since we last saw her in Beauty And the Billionaire. She help her bestie Mia and her man Thomas and now because of her involvement she has caught the attention of Blackwell the man who is out to get Thomas. Blackwell has hired Gabe to go after Izzy. Gabe is a dark and dangerous man who because of his past has done some terrible things. As the story unfolds Gabe soon realizes he cannot do what is being asked of him by Blackwell. Soon he finds himself falling for his "Bella" and trying to find a way out of the contract he has with Blackwell. He maybe a Fallen Angel but even he has his own set of morals he goes by. This is a wonderful story filled with danger, mystery and action packed. The chemistry between Gable and Izzy; who he has chosen to call Bella is so intense. Bella is a woman who is strong and wants to do things on her own. She may not want help from her two best friends but she will accept it from Gabe. The two share a similar background growing up. They both need one another in some way and are stronger together. Blackwell is a man you will just love to hate and who has you wondering how he can be the way he is. We haven't seen the last of him. This maybe a series but each book has it's own HEA for the couples involved with the underlying threat to each of them. I cannot wait to see what happens next with Bella and Mia's friend Charlotte!

I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.

Not So Prince Charming by Lauren Landish is book Two in the A Dirty Fairy Tale Series. This is the story of Gabriel 'Gabe' Jackson and Isabelle 'Izzy' Turner. This can be a standalone book, but if like me you have read the first book 'Beauty and the Billionaire' then you will enjoy the past characters that are back in this one. Gabriel is a dark person after a life changing event. Now he is out for vengeance but also takes on dark jobs. Gabriel doesn't have many morals with his job but one is that no innocent should be hurt. Gabriel has take a job from Mr. Blackwell which his target is Isabelle, but he has been watching her and he starts to doubt his job. Isabelle doesn't have a happy past and her preset is working, school and trying to keep herself going. When Gabriel walks into her world sparks fly between the two but can these two broken people find that they are whole with each other? This is a somewhat dark romance so beware of that.
I am such a fan of Ms. Landish writing...I loved the last book...so this was a must read for me.

Ahh the saga continues and so do the sexy couplings! This is the second book in the Dirty Fairy Tales series. I highly recommend reading Beauty and the Billionaire first because there is a continuing storyline that spans the series. There aren't cliffhangers per se but more like an underlying issue that is being dealt with over the separate stories.

Isabella "Izzy" Turner has had a rough life and that is a severe understatement. In waltzes mystery man, Gabriel "Gabe" Jackson. Izzy struggles with letting anyone help her but Gabe jumps in like a knight in shining armor. Izzy is in danger but is Gabe the protector or the danger itself? I was sucked into the story and didn't want to put this book down. Izzy was driven to earn each day in life to get to the next. Gabe is a complex Hero who earns that capital H. I cannot wait for Charlotte's story! This is a voluntary review of an advance reader copy.

Not So Prince Charming
Lauren Landish
I accepted this ARC on the condition that I write an honest review.
This book had me captivated from the beginnings, it was so interesting to read about the mind of an assassin. Only this assassin went from a killing machine, to falling in love with his victim. Gabe had honed his skill and never looked back, until the day that he was hired to kill the innocent, Isabella. This book has so many occurrences happening within it and dared you to stop reading. There was family sadness from both Gabe and Isabell’s past, and this past was what had formed these two individuals. Isabella was like light and sunshine compared to Gabe’s sullen dark soul. There was mystery, sadness, family destruction, death plots, lust, and eventually love. Through several obstacles, Gabe and Isabella come off with a beautiful HEA. I love all books written by Lauren Landish and will continue to read whatever book that she releases.

Loving this Dirty Fairytale series. Each story can be read as a standalone, however the characters from the previous book do appear and are still intertwined in this story line. Gabriel Jackson, known to the outside world as the Fallen Angel has mission and that mission has name and a face...Isabelle Turner! Gabe's only rule is that he does not hurt innocents and this is where his conscious starts playing tricks because the more he gets to know his target, the more convinced he becomes that something is not adding up.

Isabelle has had to fight for everything in her life and the handsome new stranger that stops into the diner where she works may just be the distraction she never knew she wanted or needed. I was on the edge of my seat, just like last time, my hatred for Blackwell has not diminished and there is a solid climactic build up that does not disappoint. Another amazing story, these characters are really growing on me. I received an ARC and this is my honest review.

Gabe Jackson took the job because he was promised information about the man who murdered his brother. In his business he is known as the Fallen Angel. It doesn't take him long to discover his target isn't guilty of anything but the crime of helping her friends. Isabella,(Izzy) Turner works hard for everything she has, she doesn't have time for a boyfriend, but Gabe is a temptation she won't be able to resist. Izzy and Gabe have fallen hard and fast, but Izzy will have to trust the man sent to kill her, to save her life. Gabe will realize that Izzy is more important to him than finding his brother's killer.

Wow, sexy, well written and complex characters, with an exciting and suspenseful plot, I think this is a fantastic must read. I loved this book!

I am voluntarily leaving an honest and non-incentivized review of this ARC.

Not So Prince Charming is another great book filled with wonderful characters, connections, steamy scenes and twists and turns. This book can be read as a stand-alone but is part of the Dirty Fairytale series!
Izzy has had a hard life but wants to be independent. She works, goes to school and has no time for herself. She’s got great friends with Mia and Charolette! I love their friendship.
Gabe- he meets Izzy bc if his job. Probably not the best job- but he sees something different about Izzy! They have this connection. 2 people with broken pasts! But the story takes everyone on a crazy journey. Gabe fights for Izzy as she finds out about him.
I love all the characters and connections!

There chemistry was off the charts plus they have a deeper connection form the loss they both suffered at a young age. This story full of danger, suspense, passion, love plus the twists and turns along the way for them. Want more well you just have to get and read there story in full because my lips are sealed. Swoon! I adored Izzy and Gabe's romance. It is the second book in the Dirty Fairy Tale series of books. It is a standalone read but there are story elements and characters that reappear. The story captured and held my attention, the characters stole my heart and it was steamy enough to almost melt my kindle. With plenty of drama, suspense, emotions, danger, intensity, twists and passion this romance quickly pulled me in and kept me hooked all the way through. A truly delightful read! I am posting a forthright, voluntary review.

Wow! What a read! Isabella has already been through so much in life, she hasn’t been dealt good cards for sure. Gabriel is out for revenge but when these two meet they find they have some things in common. This is a rollercoaster that will pull you in from the beginning.

I thought that this book was better than okay but not quite good. I liked the relationship with Bella and Gabe and it's development. I really felt for Izzy having to work and go to school all the time and I was glad that Russel got his due justice as well as Jericho. I really hope something happens to Blackwell soon.

5++++ stars for this bad boy that finds his good girl love story. This is book 2 following Beauty and the Billionaire. Isabella (Izzy) Turner is barely keeping her head above water with school, working, and trying to pay her bills. She will not accept any help from her friends even though they love her and want to help out. When a handsome dark stranger starts coming in to the Gravy Train where she works every night and seems to like Izzy she doesn't realize how much her boring difficult life is about to change.

Gabriel (Gabe) Jackson is known as the Fallen Angel in the dark underworld he lives in. He was hired to do a job and he takes his contract seriously but he will check all angels before completing his mission. When he meets Izzy he is intrigued to say the least so he continues his hunt to see what she is really made of and little did he know this job will change his world forever.

OH MY GOODNESS!!!!! This is the best book. It's full of secrets and mysteries and edge of your seat fear at times as to what is going to happen next. The elusive Mr. Blackwell is back and out for revenge and Izzy is who he blames for his failed attempt at taking down the Golden Boy, Thomas Goldstone. This book has some difficult moments where you will be biting your nails and scared to turn the page but trust me you need to. It is so well written and the characters are all believable and loveable, well with the exception of a few that are evil, but you will fall for Gabe and his Bella. I felt as though I was there hiding in the shadows watching this all unfold, I was pulled into this story with these characters and loved every minute of it. I loved how Gabe has a good side to him along with his dark and how Izzy is a survivor and doesn't cower down even though she is faced with so many trials in her life. If I needed a savior it would be Gabriel Jackson, lord that man will melt you. Know that this is no sweet romance, it is dark at times and there is evil lurking around every corner and things will get messy at times but it is realistic and true to the story. Nothing bad just part of the hitman world but they will get their HEA.

I received an early copy to read and review and give my honest opinion. Before reading this book, Beauty and the Billionaire was my favorite book this year, now it has taken second to Not So Prince Charming. This is my favorite and there is a 3rd to come. I can't wait for book 3 to see what happens. I loved this book and I highly recommend it. I can't wait for the audible to listen to as well.

I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book.

Gabriel heads into the night in search of his target. Gabe has a contract and the hit must be done, according to plan, in order to get the answers he is desperately seeking. Gabe is well seasoned in his profession, but he does have rules. No innocents. As he watches his target, he begins to have second thoughts. She doesn't seem to fit the requirements of his previous hits. She seems...like trouble for him. He needs to find out more before he proceeds.
Isabella has worked hard to get where she is and ultimately, where she is going. That's not to say that life hasn't dealt her a few blows along the way. Between the diner and school she is barely scraping by.
Gabe is conflicted. Kill Izzy and avenge a death? Or keep Izzy for himself and try to move on.
One tragic night, long ago, changed everything. Gabe has now become what he despised most and has vowed to use his skills to hunt down the perps and impose his own justice. If he's not careful, he will become the one being hunted.
A ROLLERCOASTER RIDE OF DANGER AND MYSTERY ! I love how the main characters and the secondary characters both feature heavily and support the plot; especially when the secondary characters are from a connected book.
ACTION PACKED WITH MANY TWISTS AND TURNS ! EXPLOSIVE CHEMISTRY AND UNRESTRAINED PASSION ! ! AMAZING FROM START TO FINISH ! ! !

❤️🌼🔥GABE AND BELLA MAY BE MY NEW FAVORITE COUPLE❤️🌼🔥
Gabriel Jackson is a ruthless hit man and one of the best....Isabella Turner is his next contract.....Mr. Blackwell, the most powerful and evil man in town has hired Gabe to kill Isabella to screw with a business rival...(although business rivals is a tame reference for the dynamic between Thomas Goldstone and Mr. Blackwell).....Gabe always does his research and never kills innocents, but Mr. Blackwell has something Gabe has been searching for since his brother was murdered years ago.....❤️🌼🔥
Isabella Turner has been kicked in the teeth by life!!! Period!!! Yet, she continues to carry herself with pride and works harder than anyone her age should have to never depending on anyone but herself... and now, Mr. Blackwell wants her dead to upset Thomas Goldstone’s wife, Mia, who is also Izzy’s best friend....That’s as far as I’m going with the story....❤️🌼🔥
Although NOT SO PRINCE CHARMING can be read as a stand-alone, it is actually a sequel to BEAUTY & THE BILLIONAIRE.....and we get to see Mia Karakova and Thomas Goldstone as they have continued their lives together...(and I pictured Jonny James as Gabe....look at the book cover...it is SO easy).... You need to read both books....I love them both.. ❤️🌼🔥

Izzy works herself to the bone between the diner and school she is lucky to get a few hours sleep but even with all the extra work she can’t seem to get close to paying off Russel. Russel is the guy who owns the land her house is on and since his father died he raised the rates to support his drug habit.
Gabe has been hired by a man named Blackwell to take out Izzy but Gabe just can’t seem to bring himself to do it. Gabe is known as the Fallen Angel because he used to be good till someone killed Jeremy and Gabe lost his humanity until he met Izzy.
Gabe is in awe how this woman just keeps going and he can’t see any reason to kill her so he tries to become her savior which just made Blackwell mad enough to put a hit out on them both.
This is a stand-alone but having been lucky enough to read Beauty and the Billionaire the characters interchange which I love.

I really enjoyed this twisted fairy tale about Izzy and Gabe! Would be assassins falling for their prey is a weakness for me, I love the power dynamics shifting, and there's always more danger and suspense in these types of stories. With all that going on you've got the growing feelings between the two and the passion builds, its super hot to watch (read) it all unfold. I'm also really invested now in the background story in this book and also the first one in the series, involving Blackwell. I really hope we get to see him get whats coming to him in future stories.

Not So Prince Charming is the second book in the Dirty Fairy Tale Series, and although it is a stand-alone, I'd recommend reading the first book, Beauty and the Billionaire as the storyline and characters interchange from book one into book two.

This twisted fairy tale romance is filled with danger, suspense, twists and turns, drama, wonderful characters, explosive chemistry, steamy scenes, passion, love, and of course, a HEA.

I volunteered to review an advance reader copy of this book.
