Truly Marcell’s best story yet, forget tissues, paper towels are more absorbent
I received this book as a gift of an advanced reading copy and I would like to give my honest opinion of what I read.
Okay fist thing that came to my mind when I finished reading this book was...WOW! I think this is the best one that she has written and that is saying a lot because everything that I have read of hers has been great. Now when I mentioned at the top to use paper towels instead of tissues I was not exaggerating. I could have easily gone through at least two boxes of tissues where as the paper towel though a little rough on the nose absorb a lot more tears.
This is a story about two people a woman Sofia who thinks that she wants to get pregnant by insemination and not have to deal with having a dad around. She had grown up in an abusive situation where her father was not only a drunk but verbally and physically abusive to her mother. Her mother was always making excuses for him, or blaming herself for upsetting the man. Sofia feared she would be in a relationship similar to that of her mothers. Her best memories of her childhood were of her and just her mom. So she thought that would be the best way to go. She and Isaiah Jones had started out on the same comedy group eight years earlier. They had once been lovers but the had stopped when it became too intense and became very good friends to finally Sofia becoming his manager. Of all of the men that she knew Isaiah had all of the best qualities that she wanted for her child to have. So she told him that she was moving on with her career and wanted him to be her sperm donor her child.
Isaiah Jones was the next up coming best comedian. He had not only his regular tour that he had done, but he had just finished with a movie that was a big hit. Now he was getting ready to do a Netflix special. When Sofia told him that she was leaving he told her that he would give her his sperm only if she stayed for the Netflix special for him. He didn’t really like the idea of being a donor like that. He didn’t like the idea of a child growing up without a father. Needless to say Isaiah kept sticking his royal foot in his mouth. Then he would do something that would make you think that everything would work out the he would do it again. After the first time and he made a mockery of what she was doing on the stage and right after she told him her period started. She saw that he was actually relieved. She started to make other plans after that, but once again he tried to make it up to her. How he did it and what he did afterwards were two different things.
Will these two ever get together. Will Isaiah ever get around to telling her that he loves her or will his career be far more important to him than anything else. What about Sofia? Is she going to finally move on find another donor and start her own family by herself. Will there be a happily ever after? So just in case either have a couple boxes of tissues on hand or a couple of sheets of paper towels. You will need either one.

Where to begin. The storyline is strong and so soft at the same time, that makes your heart sing lalalalalalalalaa
Isaiah is a stand up comedian who is loving life, his shows are doing well and he is excited about a Netflix show coming up. His best friend makes sure that there are loads of ladies interested in some fun after the show. What's not to love? His manager Sofia was once a lover but they decided to be just friends as they were working together, but they remained close, he enjoyed their time together. So when Sofia tells him she is handing in her notice as she wants to move to L.A and concentrate on becoming a writer, he is not happy and then she asks him for his sperm!!!!
OH this book is sooooooooo great soooooooooo much fun and at times you just want to knock their heads together. I couldnt put it down I had so much I had to do today but hey there is always tomorrow for house work

i read this book as part of an arc program. This is the story of friends and former lovers Isaiah and Sofia. Isaiah is a comedian and Sofia is his manager. When Sofia stuns Isaiah and tells him she wants to quit working with him and focus on writing, he doesn't want her to quit. Sofia then tells him she wants a baby and wants his sperm. Isaiah grew up without a father and he refuses to help Sofia. When he thinks about it, he agrees to help her if she will continue to work with him for a while. When Isaiah has a problem getting the sample for Sofia, she decides to help and it gives Isaiah mixed feelings. Sofia also begins to have mixed feelings about things but is determined to have a baby. Isaiah and Sofia have a lot to think about and decide what they both want. I enjoyed this book, i laughed and thought it was well written. I really liked Isaiah and Sofia together.. I think they both loved each other, but didn't know how to tell the other. Good one.

Sofia wants to be a mum but she definitely doesn't want a man in her life Her only memories of a father are of a a physical and emotional abusive drunk the best part of her childhood was when it was just her mum and her so that is the way she intends to bring up any child of hers. Isiah Jones is her best friend they where once lovers but when it got too serious she pulled away she asks him to be the sperm donor for her He is just making it big in the comedy circuit He has just completed a movie and is about to start a Netflix show He tells her he will donate if she stays around for a while though he isn't certain he believes a child needs both parents. As he tries to help her and just keeps making a bigger and bigger mess with her will he finally admit the truth and tell her that he loves her You will have to read to see if he finally breaks down her walls and they get their HEA

Isaiah is a comedian and his manager is Sophia. One day she comes to him saying she won't be his manager anymore since she is quitting but she wants his sperm in a cup so she can have a baby. These two dated briefly but figured they were better as friends. Isaiah isn't too keen on the cup idea. His career is taking off so he asks Sophia to stick around for his Netflix debut. But a series of freudian slips and Isaiah is in hot water, again and again... Can these two come to realize that they love each other or will they just go their separate ways? Times I could have shaken Isaiah and I wanted Sophia to have a backbone and move on if what she thought Isaiah meant hurt her so much. Sometimes you gotta cut your losses.

Breathless: A Funny Guy Bun-in-the-Oven Romance (Santa Barbara Secrets) by Marcella Swann. Let me start out by saying that I really loved this book! I loved that the comedian and his manager were once lovers, then friends with benefits. Then Isaiah had other women, but did not like it when Sophia said that she was leaving but she wanted his baby by sperm only. Her reasoning for that was she was in an abusive situation growing up with a mother that would make excuses for the abusive father. She did not want a man around raising her child and putting the child in the same situation. Isaiah grew up without a father and did not want is child to have that same situation. Will they work it out?

Sofia is the agent for Isaiah, who is a stand up comedian. They used to date but decided that since they work together it might be better if they were just friends. Sofia has decided to leave and she is also wanting to have a baby. She doesn’t just want anyone’s baby she wants to have Isaiah’s child. She has decided to get pregnant by using a fertility doctor, she just has to decide on the baby donor’s sperm. This book is great, it will take you on many twists and turns just like an emotional roller coaster ride.

Touching
I liked the story although the beginning is a bit weird: the heroine resigns from her writing work with her comic friend but she wants his sperm before leaving him. Obviously, the reasons for accepting or refusing, getting closer or moving away from the characters are more complex, but at first, this proposal of the heroine is strange.
The whole story is quite tender, Sofia and Isaiah discovering their true feelings following this ultimatum.

A fab read about Sophia and Isaiah a comedian , she's his manager , they used to date then it went to friends with benefits then to professional when she became his manager , now she wants to leave her job and wants a baby and she asks him to be the donor he says no at first but changes his mind , will things run smoothly for them? a good read that's well written and a good storyline with great characters , a must read

A further showbiz romance, this time with a comedian, Isaiah and his manager Sofia. This is a lovers to friends then back to lovers story. Sofia wants a baby as her body clock is moving on and she has no prospect of finding a prospective father. She wants Isaiah to be the father by donating his sperm to her at a fertility clinic as she is not prepared to renew their long ago intimate relationship while they are working together. Glad he got everything important in order first. He didn't know what he wanted until he met her. Fame and fortune is just what it is. Both of them thought they had terrible childhoods. They ignored some things about it. It doesn't make you any worse; only better because you know where you won't go. Deeper issue was pushed aside by both of them. You may be the product of a bad relationship but you are not a bad person.

I absolutely loved this book. It is fantastic and brilliantly written with a storyline that is flawless, funny, witty, and very interesting. The story flows smoothly and moves along at a brisk pace with lots ups and downs and a mix of emotion on every page that will leave you breathless. The chemistry between Isaiah and Sofia is intense and their sex scenes are well-written and HOT! This book met all of my expectations and then some! A really enjoyable read!

Breathless. This book was refreshing. I enjoyed this story. It was exciting and funny and romantic. Sofia was tired of the life she was living and wanted more. She decided she needed more in her life. Her biological clock was ticking. She expressed her decision to Isaiah and it didn't set well with him, but he goes along with her until he realizes he can't live without her. A great read! They were a thing .. and then they weren't. He's moving to the top .. she's his manager. She wanted more .. now she just wants his baby. Wait ..what?? What happens now? I had quite a few laughs reading this second chance romantic comedy as they went about working things out. It's well written , moves quickly and smoothly and I enjoyed reading. I give it 4 1/2*.

Beautiful romance from start to finish. Marcella Swann is excellent at telling a story that makes the reader feel like a part of it. Her characters just come alive. Of course, there are problems for Isaiah and Sofia, but a great book needs excitement. Loved how each one solved their problems. Absolutely loved the two epilogues. I cannot recommend Breathless enough.

Another good quick read by Marcella Swann that won’t leave you disappointed. Sophia is the manager for Isaiah’s comedy career. This is the 5th book I've read written by Marcella Swann; she has done a great job at writing a good book; I will definitely be reading more of her books.
The story line caught my attention at the very beginning and kept me interested throughout the entire book.

Second chance romance that is well written. Once lovers and current friends...how will they make their way to both of them getting what they really want - their HEA? I really enjoyed the story line / plot which also had great flow when reading. Another good read from Swann - I would expect nothing less!

I believe this is the first book I've read from this author, but I really enjoyed it. They were exes, but now she is his manager and he is about to hit it big as a comedienne. Now she just wants his sperm to have a baby and be a writer. He has been a playboy, but now wants her back. Will they get their HEA?

It will definitely leave you breathless. Isiah and Sofia with their friends with and without benefits is a fast paced affair. Ms Swann captures the emotional struggles of these two as they face difficult changes in life. Good story, you should one click. I volunteered to read and review an advance reader copy.

A short fantastic, funny, intriguing and well written story. A second chance romance type storyline that is engaging and kept me interested throughout. This was a sweet and quick read. Two comedic lovers to friends/coworkers try to figure out their feelings as Sophie drops the bomb she’s quitting and wants Isaiah’s sperm. Loved the flashbacks and the dual points of views.
