It’s been years since Veronica left—since I told her to leave—but I’ve envied every man who’s touched her since me.

Hell, I’ve hated them. Hated myself even more because it wasn’t supposed to be this way. I wasn’t supposed to stop trusting myself around her. I wasn’t supposed to love her because we were over before we ever had a chance.

Our truth is ugly. So twisted and wrong that I would do anything to protect her from it. I have done anything.

So I’ll let her keep hating me and I’ll keep pretending we’re nothing.

But Veronica … she was everything.

It’s been years since she was mine, and she still is.

Emily Snow is a New York Times and USA Today bestselling author who loves angst, hot alphaholes, and enemies-to-lovers, so naturally, she writes stories about all three.

When she's not writing, she's busy being a wife, mom, and trashy reality TV addict. You know, because of all the angst and drama...

4-4.5 ⭐'s

This book hurt sooo good! It starts off eight years after the first book ended. Vero's been modeling and has an accident. Bennett is the only one that can get there so off he goes. And he's as entranced as ever.

However, they are both in different places in their lives and hopefully wiser. They are also each somewhat newly single which makes things even more intriguing. And Vero's back in town for a while making things even better.

And yet, nothing's changed for these two. The sexual chemistry is off the charts. This time Bennett is more mature and has more facilities within his grasp which he uses to their benefit. We just get the information in a bit of a one step forward-two steps back kind of way.

This book was just as intense and angsty as the first. I loved getting more time with Bennett's brothers, Graham and Cain, as well as Vero's best friend, Trixie. (I only just found out that Graham has a book already out called My Pawn that I can't wait to read.)

The story leaves us hanging but not a cliffhanger per se. *Fingers crossed* that the next book, Crazy in Love WILL come out May 15th.

If you are looking for a rating on the book itself - I would give it a 4.5 without a doubt. But I can't in good conscious do that because this author has just pissed me off to the point that I have to be honest, Emily Snow is quickly becoming an author that I just need to put on my Do Not Read list.

I read This Love back in August of 2018. At the time this was touted as a DUET, not a TRILOGY.

I have read Emily in the past and I have always enjoyed her stories, even though she has ALWAYS been slow on her releases. But still, I absolutely loved everything about This Love. It was amazing. It was a September release date for the next one so not that bad. But then I went looking in September. And I read the December release date . And I was mad. Mad at the author. Mad at myself because lord knows this is not the first time that Emily Snow has done this. Then comes December and the waiting game. And the lies. The "Waiting on Amazon, thank you for your patience." turned into "The book is with the Betas, thank you for your patience." and then "I have health issues, thank you for your patience." I hate to be an A$$ to someone with health issues, but the excuses were just crap in my opinion. Meanwhile, you ask the question on her page or in a private message and it goes unanswered, just random posts here and there with another excuse on why its still not released.

So the December release changed and was released in April. 4 months later. 4 months later and I saw the book finally available so I grabbed and read it because I loved book 1 just that much. I didnt look at the blurb, I didnt look at the notes, I just grabbed the book.

I have to be honest, I did still love the book. I still love the characters and the story. What I THOUGHT was happening was I going to be complain just a little bit because the end was coming - and I figured that it would end, and all the loose ends would be tied up in the epilogue. Something I am necessarily a big fan of, but a lot of authors do.

Imagine my surprise when I turned the page to see THE END and an advertisement for book 3! A trilogy now. And while a May release date doesn't sound so bad, I have extreme high doubts that it will be May with the way this author has jerked our chains with release dates and unfinished series in the past. Its a shame because again, the story is good.

This is my first time reading Emily Snow, and will absolutely be the last time. I originally gave this book and book 1, This Love, 3.5 stars but have since changed it to just 1 star because Emily Snow originally said it was a duology, and failed to tell her readers she had left book 2 on another cliffhanger and decided to make it a trilogy. We learn that little surprise on our own after paying $4 to read book 2, Love Hurts.

And if that wasn't bad enough, she has continuously failed to release book 3, Crazy In Love, on her chosen release dates. Originally she posted on May 15th, 2019 that she would be hitting publish late that evening. Well, clearly, that never happened. I, along with several others, asked on her social media when she would be releasing it and she never bothered to respond. Finally after waiting 2 weeks I posted on her fb that as a new reader I was frustrated that she wasn't updating fans regarding a new release date or even a quick post about the delay and said I wouldn't be reading anything else by her. Well, of course she ignored all the positive posts by fans asking for an update over the prior two weeks but pounced on my post 6 minutes after I posted it. She claimed she had been upset about news regarding her health and was having trouble posting on fb. (Though she clearly had no problem responding to my post.) I posted a sincere response that I was sorry to learn she wasn't well (I don't get her newsletter so I was truly unaware she has heath issues) and went on the say that it was frustrating that she refused to respond to her fans kindly asking for updates but chose to immediately respond to what she viewed as a negative post instead. Needless to say, she deleted our entire conversation and still didn't bother to update readers about a new release date.

Finally she posted that she would be hitting publish by the following week on Sunday, June 9th, 2019 and Amazon would have it up within 72 hours after that. (That original post disappeared because she "accidentally" deleted it while trying to update it on the 12th but miraculously had copied it before "accidentally" deleting it so it's the same post just dated the 12th) Well, clearly that didn't happen either since the book was not live on Amazon on Wed 6/12 but instead the first 2 books have been pulled from Amazon with no word from Emily regarding why.

Seriously, WTF is happening with this author and these books? Has she seriously pulled the first two in the series because she hasn't finished the third and final (hopefully) book, Crazy In Love? She has promised 2 release dates, 5/15 and 6/9 and neither have happened and she has not said one word to those on social media who have asked what the hold up is. Perhaps she should have left them as a duology instead of screwing over her readers with another story with a cliffhanger that's probably going to cost them another $4 to resolve. And the worst part about her blowing past her release dates is this isn't the first or even third time she has pulled this crap. Apparently, Emily Snow has a long history of  pulling this and has used the same excuses over and over again about why she continues to fail at releasing a book on time.  But, on the upside, it looks like people are becoming wise to her tactics and lies and are refusing to buy her books anymore, like me, or, at the very least, refusing to start reading her series until all books have been released.

UPDATE: It's now May 5, 2020,almost a full year later, and Emily Snow STILL has not published book 3. She has said it would be published before Christmas 2019, before the new year, Jan 15, 2020, and a host of other dates. Clearly, she is never going to finish this series and, frankly, I'm not sure anyone cares anymore. It's been over a year since I read the first two and I can't remember anything about them. What I do remember, though, is that they weren't enjoyable enough to read again to refresh my memory for book 3 if it ever does come out. I just can't imagine this author will keep her readers if this is how she operates, and clearly it is.

WARNING! POTENTIAL UNPOPULAR REVIEW- Tread forth at your own risk.

Book friends- I'm not going to lie to you. I'm a tad pissed off. This is the 11th book by Emily Snow that I've eagerly read. I'd consider myself one of her loyal and avid readers. So why the heck do I walk away from this book with a sour feeling in my stomach?!? Honest-to-God I feel cheated. I've waited oh, so patiently for this book to be released. The previous book ended on a MAJOR cliffhanger so I've been all a flutter to find out more.

Sinking my teeth into this story it took me a bit to reengage with the characters, their nuisances, and history...far longer than I'd expect. Nevertheless I pushed forward, watched the characters endure agony all in pursuit of the answers from book 1's cliffhanger. Now here's where I feel cheated. The characters may have aged since the first book but that's about it. As a reader I still feel tormented, confused and now annoyed. The cliffhanger from book 1 isn't answered until the final scene of book 2. Aside from that- nothing else was accomplished in the pages in-between. This series should have been 2 books and not stretched to 3. It's my humble opinion that by forcing this into a triology the author sacrificed the integrity of the pacing, character development, and substance. All tormented souls...no substantial plot for the readers.

Okay I'm so disappointed with the way this book went. HTF does one lie go for 15 years where the whole book focuses on pain yet nothing makes sense.

Omg!!! This author needs to redeem herself by writing a book where we get more of the characters to connect not cry or see each other every 5 years.

Extremely disapointed after waiting and waiting for months this is what we get. 2 stars if not 1.

Love Hurts by Emily Snow is book Two in This Love Trilogy. This continues the story of Bennett and Veronica, so you really should read the previous book 'This Love' first.
This book picks later in their life after they had parted due to a secret that tore them up. Neither had the other to far from their thoughts but time did go but will things come to light to change what tore them apart. Their story didn't end in a duet but now will continue into book three.

Do not start!!!! I read this book 11 months ago and the finale was supposed to be released in weeks but it’s been months of random excuses deleting release dates and basically game playing with readers!!! Beware before you start there is no conclusion. Really enjoying the story, just frustrating as I wouldn’t usually read a series unless all are realeased, I have a terrible memory and have to reread, but nice stories with twists u could kinda see coming well hoped were coming,

It’s been eight years since Veronica and Bennett have seen each other when the first book in this series This Love ended. They have both moved forward with their lives but neither has forgotten the other. Fate has thrown them together once again, but the pain still remains from when Bennett broke both their hearts all those years ago and he is the only one who knows why and it wasn’t because he didn’t love her.

The connection and chemistry between them is stronger than ever, but so are the obstacles between them. Will these two people who have always belonged together finally get their happy ever after?

Full of emotion the angst and drama of their relationship continues. Veronica and Bennett are soulmates and I look forward to seeing their continued story in Crazy In Love when it releases.

No point to this book. This book was pointless angst (pointless!) so that there could be a book 3. Writing is good, still like the storyline, but this was silly. And book 3 is already past its release date. Not sure I’ll continue.

I went into this story thinking I was going to get a resolution to the cliffhanger that was found in book #2. I did get the resolution, just not until the last couple of chapters. The other things in this book were basically just fill in fluff that I could have done without. There was not much substance to either of the characters and their growth was stilted at best. It seemed that angst just for the sake of angst was on the agenda for this book and I was over it by the 1/3rd mark. Am hoping the final book really does tie this all up because this was not what I was expecting from this book.

Covid isolation brought me here. Lol!

I don’t even remember the plot line from book #1 and that made it hard to connect with what was happening in book #2. To the author- you have/had a loyal following. Things happen. Surely we have all missed a deadline here and there. What sets this apart is the decision to still make this a trilogy when in fairness to anyone still willing to follow along, this should have been wrapped up. Book 2 did not develop the story along far enough to be its own book. That was a poor decision from a consumer satisfaction standpoint because Book 3 is now also late.

Hated the ending. The first book, was FANTASTIC. See prior review! I’m not sure if I’ve ever read a duet I was more dismayed & dissatisfied with then this. What happened!

It really gets your heart and can't help but hold on for hope. I'm so invested in Veronica and Bennett's love story and now where this all will lead as all of the truth truly does come out. Truly well written.
I hate all of the negative reviews that were published that brings the rating down because there were delays in release which is common. I know being wrapped up in the series so want to read but remember the author is a person who has to deal w many of the curve balls life throws at us and this is her career. She wants to make sure what she's putting out for us to read is following the storyline and true to her overall vision. It's an art that takes time.
I just hope people take time to read what I think is a truly beautiful book that has become a captivating series I'm hooked on and can't wait to read the final book in series. Then, you can write a review based on what has been read.
I will say I'm very disappointed that this site has this series as it can be read when can't be and only reviewed. However, glad to give raving review on truly great talent in writing. It's truly gotten to me in all of the "feels!"

❤️🌼🔥BENNETT AND HIS VERO DESERVE SOME HAPPINESS❤️🌼🔥
Veronica Palmero is the nanny’s daughter and businessman, Bennett Delaney, is one of the brothers, with whom Veronica was raised.....We first met this star-crossed couple in HIS PAWN.....They obviously had a history, and it was obvious they were in love.....but, Bennett found something out 15 years ago, that forced them to stay apart....but he doesn’t tell Veronica why he dumped her.....and then....❤️🌼🔥
I love this couple....Emily Snow writes characters with good chemistry, and they are characters we want to root for....There have been so many questions and obstacles for this couple....and to get to see their love story continue with some hope....I am SO ready for CRAZY IN LOVE!!!! ❤️🌼🔥
LOVE HURTS is the sequel of THIS LOVE.......My best recommendation is to read HIS PAWN, THIS LOVE and LOVE HURTS......Although, because the events in THIS LOVE occur before the events in HIS PAWN and LOVE HURTS, when I re-read the series (and I will), I’m going to read them out of order.....❤️🌼🔥
Another good book by Emily Snow......❤️🌼🔥

I CANNOT WITH THIS BOOK!!!!!!

GUYS I AM CRYING WAITING FOR THE NEXT BOOK IN THIS SERIES!!!

Love Hurts was so much more than what I expected, I was shocked like never! After the way last book ended I wasn't sure what else could happen. Boy I was in for a ride.

Bennet isn't the same person he once was, 15 years ago he had to walk away from Veronica over what his mom told him. Years have passed, but the love these two have for each other never dies. Veronica is trying to move on, but it's impossible when Bennet shows up and takes her back to feeling things she knows she shouldn't.

I love Veronica and Bennet so much, I just want them happy and together. This book ends just like the first one, in a shocker. I seriously cannot with this series, it is AMAZING!!! I cannot wait to read the final book in this series.

I devoured this book within a few hours. I am fully invested in Bennett and Veronica story. This is book 2 of a trilogy so there is a deep cliff ending.

Emily takes these two through so much that I found myself wondering how Vero is still standing. Secrets, push then pull away magnetic attraction, pain and that's only a sample of the turmoil they go through.

At times I wanted to knock some sense into Bennett. But you learn from your mistakes so maybe he should be a teacher. Let the lesson be learned because these two have the makings to be a book couple you'll remember.

That ending snuck up on me and I'm glad to know I''ll be reading book 3 very soon. I received an ARC for an honest and voluntarily review.

Love Hurts

This book has it all. Love. Hate. Lust. Pain. Anguish. Veronica and Bennett are the two best characters I've read in a while. You can just feel how much they love each other, but know it just can't be, although Vero has no idea why. Gahhhhhhh! There were times that I just wanted to smack Bennett, to get on with his life and leave Veronica alone. Let her have closure. The ending came far too soon, but it is a very bright spot in this book. I cannot wait for the next book to come out! Solid 5 stars

Oh my god, this book ripped my heart out and stomped on it, then put it back in and held it in place with duct tape. This book will give you all the feels, and you want to murder Erik and Monica. You desperately want Veronica to be happy, and at times you see glimpses of that. This story is riveting and intense and I can not wait for book three to get the ending for Bennett and Veronica and if they will get there happily ever after or not. I need book three now

I was seriously on the edge of my seat while reading this installment! It painstakingly hard to not flip to the last page to see what was going to transpire, but I withheld and holy crap... I have to say I was not expecting that to happen, well secretly I wished for it too but now I can't wait until all the secrets are unveiled in the third book! I would give this book a 4 stars and highly recommend to others.

It took me a moment to remember what happened in the last book but I quickly caught on and was lost in Bennett and Veronica’s story. The chemistry between them is palpable and the push-pull was ongoing. As much as he loves her, we, the reader, know why he’s pushing her away. But the way this story moves held me captivated and I kept waiting for the other shoe to drop. And what a doozy of an ending! I can’t wait for the next book in their journey.

I really enjoyed this series. However it has been frustrating that the author made it into a trilogy instead of a duet and took so long to have the books released past that date that was expected. She should re-release the books once they are all out so more people will read the story. This Love is a romantic and suspenseful novel that is well written and heartfelt.

I waited a looonnnggg time for this one! I was still invested from the first book and this one didn’t disappoint. Emily snow was able to pull me right back in. As this book is set quite a few years after the first, it was great to see how much Vero had grown. The end of this book has me waiting impatiently for the last one in this trilogy. I see a light at the end of the tunnel!

This book picks up where This Love left off. So I highly recommend you read book one first.

This book will have you on the edge of your seat. And is filled with so much angst. You will learn a little more about the story and the characters in this book. But there is a big cliffhanger at the end. I am so ready to see how it all ends. I can't get enough of this series.

Wow I hope your ready to continue on the rollercoaster that Bennett and veronica have put you on from book one.

If you've read book one hold on to your hats your about to get a ride you didn't think was coming. Your going to feel the pull these two have with each other. I want to spill more but you must read (in order is a must).

Can't wait for what's next

Love Hurts is the second book in the This Love Trilogy. It continues Bennett and Veronica's story, but it is set a few years after This Love. There is still the perfect combination of twists and turns and angst and emotion that all Emily Snow fans are accustomed to. I can't wait to see how this story will end.
