Secret Love
Mencintai Izzat yang jauh di mata merupakan sesuatu yang mustahil tetapi itu yang Delisa rasakan. Berbelas tahun berpisah, mereka langsung tidak berhubung sehinggalah Izzat tiba-tiba muncul. Bagi Delisa cinta dia pada Izzat adalah rahsia hatinya dan Izzat tidak perlu tahu semua itu.

I have no words, this is such a fun and brilliant romcom! I had some really good laugh throughout the story, and it's such a comfy fast-paced book. I've read the author's other work before, but now I can really see that the author is really good at writing romcoms! Not just the interactions and the scenes, but the dialogue are just full of excellent humor. It's worth to mention that the comedic elements were not try-hard and is quite natural, that most of the time you wouldn't expected at all. Despite all of the humor and randomness at some parts, the story itself and the characters were absolutely realistic and really raw and honest! Also, the story is literally why the blurb said, a story about childhood friends / cousin to rejection to love, with the main theme of pining (pushing and pulling), it really is what it is! There wasn't any huge crisis at all, except for crisis berkenaan dengan hati masing masing, yet it was still able to be so relatable and heartfelt to me as a reader.
Both MCs are lovable and the dual POV was quite easy to follow through. I really love Lisa as a character, I guess I somehow could related to her to the personal level, the way she hides her feelings, how hard it is to admit things, how shy / timid she is, yet she is stern and honest she is. It's quite nice to see how strong she is, especially when she carried herself, and how she's able to voice out a 'comeback' when ML asked her some unfair questions, it's really nice to see. Although I still do think Izzat is a bit of an arse for the entire rejection reasonings, and how annoying he is when he's pressing FL, he's still such a fun character, and really entertaining to read! The man is just so clueless sometimes. Overall on the MCs, I simply love the realistic behavioural interpretation of a person pining secretly for another person, and we were able to see from both sides and how different it was! It looks simple and frustrating to another person, but admiring another person from afar, and keeping own feelings hidden yet concealing true emotions, is super relatable, and the overwhelmed reactions and feelings they had when interacting was really raw too, it had me tingling all over.
Although the story is mainly focusing the MCs, it's nice to see how balance and well involved the side characters are in the story. On the tale, I can see how close and genuine their relationship are between siblings and cousins, as well as the relationship with the father and the aunt/uncle, as well as the grandparents (love tok ma very much), the everyday scenes, and their advices and genuine conversation was quite wholesome to me.
A bit of a spoiler — I think the kidnapping arc was so random, but also super amusing for me at the same time, it was so serious yet so unserious, and behold, I genuinely love it. A+ comedic relief. When Lisa questions the entire situation, how the 'couple' were fighting and how ridiculous their relationship were, she's like us readers when reading ridiculous romance story, for real. She was like 'I just got kidnapped, but the drama is interesting and enjoyable, pretend that I'm not here, I'm all good', I had me laughing out loud. Really do enjoyed that chapter very much, and idk I wished there's a romcom about Karl and Haera too, as what they're facing and their relationship were straight up hilarious, dramatic, and interesting all at the same time.
Oh, another thing, appreciate the timing and schedule of the people in the story. Yeah, although the author didn't really show much of their career / studies scenes, I could still feel hecticness and business, as well as how tiring everything was. It was quite 'authentic'.
Just a random thought though, really wished the cover of the book doesn't look like that, at first, although I've read the blurb, I still thought it's going to be full of crisis dramatic spy story. Oh boy, how wrong my past self was.
Overall, it really is an enjoyable read and is probably one of my favourite romcom. Highly recommended.

Aku tertarik nak beli novel ni sebab aku nampak teaser asyik duk lalu lalang kat facebook. Bagus betul peranan teaser. Aku biasanya jarang beli novel dari penulis baru. Kalau beli pon, sebab review yang bagus. Pastu tengok kat Goodreads, tak banyak pon review. So, inilah peranan teaser yang menarik. Pastu ada pulak sale dari penerbit.

Bila org tu suka..tolak..katanya mcm adik..lepas mmber dah move on…baru ko sedar…. Sweet la…paham bile kita simpan perasaan kat some1 and xde niat pon nak luah tp kantoi lak… ish..blh tak pretent like nothing happen..ini hero cakap..i cant accept u..omaigod..mmg move on la kan..but… u never knew.. sekajap je Allah tu blh balikkan hati..ahh gitchuu…

Saya kinda 50/50 dengan sepupu×sepupu ni. Yes diorang sepupu...
Ye, dari segi undang², tak salah kahwin ngan sepupu, tapi saya cam entahlah haha😄
Seperti biasa, saya suka dengan penulisan Shiroe Sherry ni. Konflik ringan, komedi pun just nice. Siblings relationship memang relatable😂😂😂
The romance ship tu jerlah yang saya cam haha entahlah...50/50 jelah.
Oh tapi saya tak sangka pula ada watak dari buku latest penulis ni, Kecuali Cintamu. Rupa-rupanya ni watak dah lama ada dalam universe Shiroe Sherry wahhhh. Kameo dari watak Haera dan Karl dari buku Kecuali Cintamu. Boleh usha buku tu lepasni kalau ada rezeki hehe 👀👀👀👌🏻✨
Tapi um, okaylah buku ni buat saya terhibur macam dalam buku My Sweetie Pie tu. Saya cuma tak kenan sikit dengan romance shipping.

Fun to read at first. Kelakar. Secondhand embarassment pon ada. Then after the guy dpt tau the girl ade feeling dekat dia, and he rejected it - Itu ok lagi. Normal senario.
My problem is after another character is introduced. And then another. Gosh, the way how those 2 MCs are portrayed, how they react, I can't feel it. All the actions, all the words - just got cringy every time. So I just skip to the last page.
This book is definitely not for me.
