Pamela Brighton briefly describes her upbringing and her initial career out of university as an English teacher in an all boys school. She discovered that, when trying to educate 15-year-olds, having all the cards was useful, misquoting Theodore Roosevelt’s “Speak softly and carry a big stick, you will go far.”
She also tells stories from her time teaching that end in maxims: “It really doesn’t matter how tough you really are. It’s all about how tough people think you are.” Other stories from her school teaching career are interesting and humorous, cementing a back-story that offers perspective.
She writes about the London BDSM scene under Thatcher, covering som unfortunate prudish behavior by that administration, as well as certain personalities that will be, doubtlessly, recognized by those who were part of the London fetish scene at that time.
Pamela takes up with a gentleman named Piers and he woos her, including away from her career. As he is wealthy, her life changes considerably. She describes a strong female-led marriage with his fetish interests building a positive relationship, episodes with chastity, teasing and denial and her enjoyment of him as well as an increase in her own personal self-confidence. They moved to a relationship where his thirst for humiliation developed into her cuckolding him with both men and women, using a camera to further his humiliation.
Pamela offers a tour of the Other World Kingdom, a German museum and loses her husband. With this loss, she immediately sets about helping others, which is the best response to a loss. She returns to school teaching and rescues people.
Throughout this story, I see her as providing a positive experience for all those who come within her orbit. Some of these stories are funny, some sad, but all reflect the positive influence of a highly capable and intelligent woman.

This true story of Pamela Brighton's journey into female domination and eventually a dominatrix, was very entertaining but it was even more informative, just as the author intended. It was very interesting to see how the various progressions in her and her husband's femdom/BDSM life came about. This is a voluntary review of this book.
