Demon Hunter #2

Born Again

Rate this book
From the bestselling authors of Simon Says, Knock Knock, and Chosen comes the next installment in the Demon Hunter paranormal urban fantasy series. Out of all the things Ben Robinson could call himself, “Demon Hunter” is on the top-five list of things that make him sound crazy. But he’s not. Neither is the undead spirit of his childhood friend Ian, who now inhabits Ben’s body and links him to the spirit world—and Ben hasn’t told anyone about it.

Peter has found a way to blend arcane, demon-summoning magic into conveniently modern technology. April dreams about the future and is probably the only reason they’re still alive. When Chase joins their unlikely group, he’s almost the sanest one among them—except for the fact that he can’t stop hacking the dark web.

When Ben gets repeat packages of demon-battling artifacts, their usefulness almost outweighs the creepiness of being sent by an anonymous source. It’s not like Ben needs another mystery weighing on his mind—like if this person is stalking him or how many of his secrets the unnamed benefactor has already dug up. But he can’t say no to the help, especially when he’s getting so good at sending these demons back to the realm they were never meant to leave in the first place.

My name is Adam Dark.

I write horror and paranormal stories based on my vivid dreams. It's the best way that I know of to get the demons out and onto paper. I hope they haunt you and leave your heart pumping like they do me.

I established my first LLC. when I was ten years old. My friends were my first employees. Other than sharing my stories with others, I love making videos on YouTube. If a picture is worth a thousand words, then a video is worth a million. I've directed two movies so far. You can find them on YouTube at Super Plus Toys.

Outside of writing, I spend most of my time playing guitar or golf. Travel is also high on my list of leisure activities. I've been to seven countries within Europe and plan to visit many more in the years to come. The richness of other cultures is thrilling!

I have a pet tarantula named Venom; a dog named Emma; and cat named Ellie. They are my secret confidants to the mysterious worlds I create. I have both an American and Danish passport. Feel free to ask me more about my Polish heritage.

Some other things I enjoy are rock n' roll, public speaking, broccoli (I know, isn't that weird!), school, and heart-wrenching horror movies that leave me clinging to the seat. While I love learning, I dislike homework, disrespectful and rude people, senseless drama, and bullies. There is no room for hatred. We only have one life to live; let's do it to the best that we can and treat everyone with love and kindness.

I received a free copy of this book from the author. I had the opportunity to review or not.

The three demon hunters are at it again. This time they have an intruder in their midst. He wants in. He wants to join them in their hunt for demons and he presents his case as to why her should be allowed into their small circle of secret hunters. His name is Chase and that’s what he wants to do: chase demons. After Chase convinces the team he deserves to be part of their group, he takes them to a park where they find a ghost devouring a cat. A cat that is still alive.

Now the group must figure out what that’s all about. Is it just a ghost? Is it a demon? Can it be captured? If it can, how? Can it be stored in the black demon box? So many questions, too few answers. The group has some research to do. But before they come close to solving the mystery of the cat eating ghost/demon, a mysterious package is delivered to Ben with a terse note “For your cat problem. Apply before death.”

Now what does that mean? Well, reader, get the book and find out. You will be pleased that you did. It’s a fun adventure into a scary world. The characters are interesting, believable and vulnerable. Join them for some interesting and dangerous adventures.

It has been a second since I read the first book so I forgot how much I enjoyed these characters. They all continue to feel real even though I have thankfully never been in situations anywhere near as harrowing. The story is interesting enough that I kept reading when I probably should have stopped to go do other things like eat and sleep. If you read the first book you know you should keep going and if you haven't started the series at all what exactly are you waiting for.

The hunts are getting more interesting. Ben, Pete, and April have a new co-demon hunter named Chase, and he is able to find out a lot of info with his multiple computers. But one case stumps them and they almost die. Now they have to figure out how to proceed. And who keeps sending them gifts that help with each case? The second book in the series Demon Hunter. Ben is still hiding his secret about Ian. Chase barges his way into the demon hunting group. Peter and Ben receive gifts from the same mysterious person. Humorous, mystery, budding romance (?), addicting, vivid descriptions.

No experience

It isn't surprising that hunting demons with no real knowledge of demons never goes smoothly. The demon hunting started because Ben had a dream. The friend he thought died years ago is actually sort of alive...
