He never expected to fall for his nemesis. She never expected to arrange her divorce before her marriage. Yet, it might be the best thing that ever happened.
Kai Stuart hadn’t expected his marital status—lack of marriage to be exact—to be the deal-breaker that stood between him and buying a multi-million dollar luxury property in Italy at bargain prices, but it was. A short-term contract for marriage to someone he has no chance of falling for is exactly what he needs.
Remi Stein wonders if a marriage contract could be the answer for her current problem, too. She would net a few hundred thousand from the arrangement, giving her non-profit business a cash infusion it desperately needs. They can call a truce for six months, then they’ll happily part ways, getting what they each want. Luckily there’s no expectation of love.
Will their pre-arranged divorce survive spending time in close quarters, traveling the world, and sharing starry nights at a villa on Lake Como? Find out in this enemies-to-lovers romance novel.
I'm a fan of marriages of convenience and this one was fun and fresh with some interesting twists. Kai and Remi grew up very competitive and were nemeses, but as they reconnected at their 10 year high school reunion, they both realized that maybe they've grown up and can admire each other's accomplishments and strengths.
What was interesting with this story is that both Kai and Remi had a reason to marry. They mutually benefited from their arrangement. I loved their relationship--how they were able to laugh, tease, play, work, and support each other, especially when their plans go slightly awry, leaving them with an undeniable romantic connection and a baby alpaca.
These characters are extremely fun and the settings (three different locations around the globe) are utterly charming. I have some new places to add to my bucket list, hah! But of course, my favorite was the chemistry oozing off the pages. It's been said that the closest emotion to love is hate and it sure proves true in this case. This one charmed it's way straight into the deepest crevices of my heart.
I seldom read an author who keeps me so involved in the story from the first paragraph to the last as entirely as does Jo Noelle. I am so pleased to have discovered her body of work. If Suddenly Required: Bride is typical of her work, I can envision many hours of pleasant reading ahead. I was particularly pleased that Ms. Noelle did not adhere to the standard boilerplate plotline for contemporary clean romance novels. Both protagonists were strong, relatable characters who had a history with each other from elementary school. That history seemed to support the idea that opposites attract. I found that, although both Kai and Remi were energetic, successful individuals, they revealed their vulnerability when it came to their feelings for each other. I had to laugh out loud when Kai tangled with the Lama. What a reversal when he received a gift of a baby Lama, and he revealed his soft side. It was amusing that billionaire Kai made an issue about the cost of a soda. I highly recommend this novel to all my clean romance friends.
One thing I've grown certain of in the many years that I have read clean romance is that for a book to receive 5 stars it has to be proof-read. I'm not a professional but I hate it when I have to re-read a sentence for it to make sense. This story and the author are good enough for a publishing house. This book has a storyline that you don't find in your everyday (because seriously this plot is a dime-a-dozen) marriage -of-convenience. I loved the humanitarian hope for women in Peru, the alpaca humor, and the hate/ love relationship. I will definitely read another book by this author.
WHAT IT'S ABOUT He never expected to fall for his nemesis. She never expected to arrange her divorce before her marriage. Yet, it might be the best thing that ever happened.

MY TAKE This was such a charming story. The two main characters have quite the history, running clear back to elementary school. They haven't seen each other since they graduated and have both done really well for themselves. Except they both have recently come across complications that they need to be married to fix. Since Remi just broke up with her loser fiancé, and Kai never intended to get married anyway, a temporary wedding will get them both what they want with no danger.
Except there is. For one, there's the lying. Both of them have to pretend in front of people they love or respect. For another, they discover as they help each other through some issues that arise for both of them, that once they put their rivalry aside, there's a lot to appreciate in the other.
I enjoyed reading the refreshing & sweet romance. It is a story about two people, that were archrival's throughout school. Now, 10 year's later, it's reunion time. Overhearing a conversation, Remi, is interested in learning more about Kai, needing a bride. Remi, thought about it. It would be a way to help her business & for Kai, to be able purchase the property he wants. But could they pull this off & be in the same room together? I loved everything about this Must Read Story!!
This was a wonderful story of Kai and Remi who find love after being nemesis in high school. It was a such a heartfelt story! It was easy for them. I truly felt part of the story. I wanted to yell when they were being dumb, felt their uncertainty as they were falling in love and pain until they finally got together. I love a story you that as you read it you feel part of it. This is that kind of book!
I love marriage of convenience/pretending to date or be a couple. It usually breaks down barriers and the couple get to know each other really fast for better or for worse!
This was a fun story of high school rivalry and seeing each other at the high school reunion.
This is the second in a series but completely stand alone and not connected to the first. I have it a 4 stars because there were quite a few mistakes and some sentences read weird.
Kai and Remy reconnect after years apart. Rivals in school, they concoct a plan that's mutually beneficial, but when feelings start to develop, will either of them speak up? I loved this story, especially all of the good Remy does with her wealth. Their chemistry is inspiring and I want more of their story!
Great book with very well written characters. Remi and Kai are great as enemies and even better as husband and wife. This is such a fun take on a marriage of convenience romance. I highly recommend this story. It’s part of a series but it’s totally a standalone romance.
What a fun read! I am not into lying or taking advantage of people. That said, and it being a story, not real life - I thoroughly enjoyed this couple. From antagonists to lovers, a really great and fun ride. I enjoyed every minute of it, could not put it down. Loved the characters, the places, the "paying it forward", the heart to bless and help others. Thanks.
I loved this book, and every time I had to put it down i couldn't wait to get back to it. Light, entertaining reading that made me laugh out loud, and feel intensely drawn in from the first chapter.
Remi and Kai are hilarious. Their personalities are caring, compassionate, and loyal, and competitive; they just have a few hiccups along the way to find out what they need.
I love the story, it made me laugh and just couldn't stop reading! The story of Kai and Remi makes you think of love, family and that is good to fight for what you want
The story of Kai and Remi as competitors during their school-day years continues when they see each other at their high school reunion. But finances and their possibible feelings for one another lead them to consider a real future together!
