Ellery’s life has been turned upside down. Her mother passed away, her dad lost his job and now they are moving to her grandmother’s creepy old house. The house has a reputation in the town and is referred to as the Witch House. She laughs it off but quickly find out it’s more than just a small town gossip.
Skylar has lived across the street from the Witch House his entire life. He even has a reason to believe the gossip but when Ellery shows up he finds himself constantly entering the place he’s feared, all because of her.
Together will they be able to defeat the evil that lurks in Witch House or will it claim them too?
There was times I was so creeped out by this book that I had to put it away and read it in daylight, that’s how intensely it evoked emotion in me!! And even putting it down and picking it back up the next day after work, I was immediately immersed back into the world as if I never put it down!! Loved it!
This book is absolutely amazing. It's has some suspense and it's a little creepy. It will captivate you from the first page and keep you reading til the end to find out what happens next
Not my usual genre but reading the blurb, it sounded interesting and I decided to give it a chance. Boy, am I glad I did. Exciting, gripping, not too horrible that it will give me nightmares, but enough to keep my eyes glued on the pages. It may come under YA, but an oldie like me did enjoy this book very much. I liked the way it was written, with alternating chapters for each of the main characters, giving us a chance to view the situation from their different perspectives. I like the way the friends are human, enough to think that they could try to oust each other where the girl is concerned but their true friendship and loyalty comes through when the chips are down.
Great job, Dean and Nichole, keep 'em coming! I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
True to Mary Dean's style of writing the Witch House does draw you totally in and keeps you turning turning the page. It took me about 3.5 hours to read this wonderful novel because you are totally captivated and wonder what will happen next.
This novel has wonderful characters three teenagers and a dad and the boy next door's mom. It is a paranormal book and it is not only great for adult readers it is wonderful for young teenagers alike.
It is a wonderful book to bond with your teenage readers and for book discussions.
I totally loved how well the book was written and giving the reader a great background and totally captivates you and makes you lose track of time as you are reading.
I do rate this book as a 5-Star read and Witch Hunt was gifted to me as an arc.
This book was super cool. I’m excited I got to read another book by Mary Dean. Her and Stephanie Nichole are very good together. The plot was fun, exciting and easy to follow. I loved the creep factor in this book, so much fun to step out of my normal romance genre. Ellery is a strong young girl with more strength that she knows in the end. Ellery, Skylar and Donnie along with some spooky help take on the witch house. You’ll have to read it to find out more. It’s a fast and easy read that will keep you entertained. Loved the ending, reminded me of Supernatural a bit.
I finished this in one sitting. The story is about a girl that has to move into the house that used to belong to her grandmother. Everyone thought her granny was a witch from a long line of witches. Strange things start happening in the house and the kid across the street seems to know more about what is going on and doesn't want to tell her. Entertaining story with a few surprises.

I've read several books written by Stephanie Nichole; she has done a great job at writing a good book; she is becoming one of my favorite authors. I can’t wait to read more of books her books.
The story line caught my attention at the very beginning and kept me interested throughout the entire book.

The book starts horribly with the male main character completely objectifying the female main character. It was so gross, I was actually shocked this was written by TWO women. But then they also objectify the male main character, so balance, I guess.
There were so many inconsistencies within the book. Skylar has absolutely always believed in ghosts, but then if you had asked him a month ago he’d say he didn’t. Rebekah’s death was ruled an aneurysm, but then her body was buried in the back yard. (So how could they even know she was dead, let alone do an autopsy? And if her body had been found, it having been buried would have instigated an investigation.) Ellery met Skylar’s mom in the school office because Skylar’s mom was the principal’s assistant, but then they meet at Skylar’s house, and then Skylar’s mom is home in the middle of the school day.
And then there’s the writing. Constantly switching back and forth between present and past tense, even mid-sentence. “In the middle of the night, I awoke from a nightmare that feels so real….” Sooooo many missing words. At one point, the authors used “feels” instead of “fills.”
It was honestly difficult to finish this book. And yeah, I could have DNF’d it, and wanted to a dozen times. But it’s only 100 pages, right? It was 100 pages too long, and I want those two(ish) hours of my life back.

I found this to be a very entertaining tale. How can you go wrong when the subject matter has witches, paranormal, and an edgy plot? I am bit old-fashioned, so I wondered if some of it was appropriate for young adults. But youth today are a lot more advanced than I was in my day, so it's probably okay. I read this in one day between other things. I never lost track of the plot. I can't say that about a lot of the things I read. I have only read several things by this author, but Mary Dean is definitely one to follow. Put this on your TBR or purchase today.
“Stephanie wrote a masterpiece. Witch House was a fascinating and intrigue story packed with all the feels. Word after word the story kept me on the edge, I couldn’t stop until I reached the end.
Suspense and creepiness on its major expression. The characters personalities were so well-developed, freshen and bright. The spooky moments will give you goosebumps.
This is a fantastic read. I couldn't stop reading this book …it’s well written, with wonderful characters, and a storyline that had me riveted to the pages. There’s plenty of creepiness, suspense, and twists and turns, that will keep you on the edge of your seat wondering what will happen next. I really enjoyed both Ellery and Skylar characters, and they had a sweet relationship. You should read this book it’s so good!
This is an entertaining story for the YA group. The author brings a multitude of characters and does a good job developing them and the scenes in detail. She builds the mystery, adds in danger , twists and turns and keeps you reading to the end. It moves quickly and smoothly and I enjoyed reading.
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book. All opinion in this review are my own and freely given.
The Witch House was an amazing, fast paced, intense story that will definitely keep you entertained and on the edge of your seat. The characters were likeable and well written. There are plenty of spooky nail biting moments with little twists and turns throughout. The story was definitely suspenseful and thrilling. I loved every bit of it.

I loved reading Witch House. This book was full of suspense, mystery, and it was down right creepy. Had me sitting on the edge of my seat. Couldn't wait to turn the page to see what was going to happen. Absolutely loved the ending. Highly recommended
I really wanted to fall in love with this story. I had a hard time getting through the moodiness in the beginning but it had a great storyline and the ending was fun. I just wish it had been stretched out a bit more.
Thank you to Mary Dean for a copy in the CoHo Facebook fan Friday giveaways. This is not normally a book I would have chosen because it is YA but I loved it because of the ghost story.

This is a great YA paranormal. I find many books that fall under YA really shouldn't be as they are full of extreme adult situations.
This, though scary situations occur, is believable that they are highschool kids. There is anger over moving, sorrow for a lost parent. Protective and loving father. Worried mother and a boy who is not a hero who steps in when needed. Typical teen angst. The complications of best friends between Donnie and Skyler are great because as teens, kids are a bit selfish like Donnie. It's a very realistic scenario that many authors miss. I felt all the characters were very authentic.
There is great mystery and scary scenes throughout the story. I kinda hope for a prequel of Reynah's story. (Mainly cause I love historical paranormal prequels lol)
Best of all though there is a love story going on this is not a mooshy or sexual love story, That often takes over the story instead of adding to it. The love in this one only added to the story and made it better.
Mary is a new author, this bring her 2nd release. Also my second read of hers and I'll keep reading as long as she keeps them coming.
Stephanie has several books out, I'll admit this is my first read if hers but will not be my last, I've added many to my TBR list already.
This is a fairly good read, but it is the typical witch wants revenge story and kind of predictable. The only thing that irked me while reading this, though, is there is A LOT of teenage crushing going on through the whole book, and I do mean A LOT. The story is told 1st person back and forth between the 2 and then later 3 main characters, and almost every single chapter you get that 1st person opinion of just how much they like so-and-so at that moment or how much that person makes them mad, etc. It felt sometimes like I was really reading a young adult romance book with just a touch of witch house added in the background. There is also a “third wheel” added in to get between the 2 main characters and cause drama, and I very quickly hated his character, even when he supposedly is being helpful later. Some of how the lead female acts with him just wasn’t realistic to me and had me turning against her somewhat also. (I might have even been rooting for the evil witch to win there for a while against those two.) Eventually the story turns back more into the actual witch house story it’s supposed to be, and it does get more action and a faster pace, and you do want to find out what happens. Just realize going in it may be a little slow getting to that point.
Her dad and her have no choice. After her mom dies of cancer, her dad loses his job because he took a day off to burry his wife. Now their only choice is grandmother’s creepy old house in some hick town. Ellery begins to have strange experiences, really scary ones. Skylar has lived across the street from the Witch House his whole life and grew up with the rumours that it is haunted. He could of lived the rest of his life never setting foot in it, but he does for Ellery, the coolest girl he has ever met. Can they stop the haunting? This is a good haunting story targeted at young adults but can be enjoyed by everyone. The characters are young, interesting and unsure of themselves. They are thrown into an unbelievable situation that requires them to set up and find their inner strength. The haunting is great and there are lots of creepy situations. The ghosts are both good and evil, just as people are. I enjoyed how the characters interplay between each other and how they overcame their fears. The book is easy to read and flows nicely. Overall, I would say this is a good horror story. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Ellery and her father moved into their grandmother's creepy old house and it doesn't take long for her to discover that the rumours in town about the old place aren't wrong! As she becomes closer to her neighbour, they try to discover what is haunting the house and why it wants her ~ before it's to late! I thought it was a tiny bit predictable, and I felt the ending was a bit to rushed for my liking, but overall I loved the suspense and the detailed description of the events and characters. A great quick and easy read!
I haven';t read much YA novels, but I figured I would give this one a read. The story was pretty good, and I certainly felt for the young characters. But, there was a lot of typos and words missing. Also, I feel like some of the scenes were described too much, leaving little room for imagination. Sometimes "spookiness" comes from the unknown. Yet, I can certainly see this novel appealing to YA readers.

I loved this story about a haunted house. It reminded me of when I was in high school and all the talk about the haunted house in our block. I loved that this story had a strong female character. I look forward to reading more from this author. The writing sucks you in to the story and keeps you wanting to know more.

Witch House reignited my love of young adult horror novels. The story is told in the first person alternating between Ellery and Skylar’s points of view. There are times when the characters seem to drop the fourth wall and speak directly to the reader. The book is fast-paced and the concept is appropriately spooky. I enjoyed the book but felt like characters were a little one dimensional.
