Being alive has never been so exhilarating, or, as Ella is finding out, more dangerous...
__
A few months ago, Ella was a ghost.
D-E-D.
Hades, the God of the Underworld, brought her back to life as a boon to his beloved wife, Cressy, but things kinda unraveled when Ella met Zeus. Saying it all went Pete Tong is just an understatement.
Now, she's back on Earth in a body, but it isn't hers. She has a name too, and it isn't Ella.
What happens when a soul takes over another's body?
Well, it starts to look like demon possession.
Fearing her 'mom' will bring in an exorcist, Ella agrees to stay in a rehab center where she accidentally meets Achilles and Pollux, guardians of the god Apollo. They're busy getting it on, and Ella is quite happy to hang around for the show. Until they realize she's snooping, of course.
Face-palm or what?
But the meeting is a revelation, and through them, she meets Castor and the god himself: Apollo.
As the second in Zeus' baby-making scheme, Ella is Apollo's bride. But her lineage is sired by Helios, the God who brings the sun out after a long night, and Apollo? He powers the sun itself.
Oops.
When these two get together, more than sparks fly, the sun itself starts to storm.
With the world unexpectedly in peril, Ella and her four husbands have to right the wrong they inadvertently committed when they danced the horizontal tango.

And I’m clicking on everything with Greek gods again. Really need to stop doing that. After the first one, I was looking forward to Ella’s story. Unfortunately, she’s lost her memory so feels like a new character completely. Three guardians and Apollo in this one, multiple POVs. The mortal names got a bit confusing so glad they were scrapped. Opens with m/m voyeur sex but from there its pretty slow until 40% when things start improving. I did like the characters but there was nothing in it. It was a straight line throughout, not quite flatlining, but it was just there.
3.5 stars Liked it right up until the first "claiming". I liked her sass, the different quirks and attitudes of the guys, etc. Laughed so hard at some of those very colorful analogies. Appreciated how the author was once again touching on real issues like depression or PTSD. After that "claiming" though everything just went sideways for me. Starting with the way they completely disregarded her concern for safe sex. Or seeing anything remotely resembling panic in her eyes, without even bothering to stop and check if she's ok. That's an absolute no-no. I dunno, after that and for the majority of the rest of the book she was little more than a puppet. In the end I just didnt feel the connection between Ella and her guys the way I felt it between Cressy & Co. The whole thing was OTT from body swaps, to solar flares and supernovas, etc without much of an actual story. And really no resolution in the end. As much as I enjoy stories about Greek mythology and such this was one fell flat for me. Disappointing really, cause I loved the first one and even this one held a lot of promise in the beginning with plenty of good ideas that seemed to sink into oblivion with the radiated boat. Oh yeah, and this book should come with a trigger warning for all the M/M content. Really not a fan.
I *loved* these guys. The names were a little confusing to me since they had their "human" names, they had their "god" names, and they had their nicknames. And Pollux and Apollo were "Lux" and "Pol," respectively. But "Lux" and "Pol" are both nicknames for Pollux? It took me a few pages to get the hang of that. But I truly enjoyed this book, and looking at the other characters from Hotter than Hades.
A little back story, if you have not read Hotter than Hades (The Gods are Back In Town Book1) do that now. Spoilers for both books if you continue!!!!
If you have, here is a recap. Cressy, from book one best friend/foster sister Ella died, however she was not supposed to die. So when Cressy met Zeus, he took Ella's soul and placed it into another. Because like Cressy, the fates have a plan for Ella to be the wife of another God. So, Ella is back….but not in her old body.
Cindy is awake after a four months coma, and she doesn’t know who Cindy is, she is Ella. At least she thinks she is Ella…everything that feels like it should be an easy memory is gone. She has a mother now “Dolly” doting on her and making sure she is better. Then sends her off to some retreat as soon as the doctors say she is healed up. She is so confused with everything that is happening. Dolly has not told her a lot about her life and since she can’t remember she feels more lost every day.
Now that she is at this resort, she witnesses a pretty hot M/M scene with two guys.Which happened to be two of the gods guardians. But the next day she meets two new guys…now enters Apollo and the last guardian. She knows something is off but being a klutz she faints and in the process injures herself. Apollo contacts Zeus, because the meeting with Cindy (Ella) was not what he was expecting.
Even though Cindy is Ella, or Ella is Cindy…but I kind of miss the Ella from book one’s personality more. I understand why she isn’t, but I miss the confidence Ella had even as a ghost in the last book. I was happy they dropped the human names and Ella learned their nicknames…Pol is Apollo, Castor is Tor, Achilles is Chill, and Pollux is Lux. As the book continues, things happen and the old Ella pops up more and more. She even remembers Cressy, and eventually she is reconnected with Cressy. As things progress feelings and love grows, so do the steamy scenes of mmfm variety. 4.5/stars 3/spice

Don’t get me wrong this author is very talented; her narrative is engaging and the editing, while not perfect, is quite good. However, there’s no character development in this story, the interactions and relationships are very shallow, and almost nothing happens.
I remember reading another review where it said something along the line of “it’s not enough to have a good idea” and I agree, while a good idea should be the foundation of the story the development of said idea is what makes the story.
I’ve always thought there are three kinds of romance authors that are worth reading; the ones with a beautiful prose but a not-so-good plot, the ones with a passable writing style but an awesome plot, and the ones who master both. Obviously, the latter is preferable to the former but not everyone can be J.R. Ward (even Kristen Ashley gets annoying at some point).
My problem here is that this author has published several books and I find it telling that she still has problems with her plot and character development, IMO that says a lot about her capacity for improvement and that’s a bit disappointing. I think she has potential but very probably will never develop beyond her current capabilities.
Having said all that, the book’s entertaining just not life-changing. I’ll probably read the next one to see were the general plot is going but I probably won’t try any of her other books.
4.5 stars - This quirky RH about human Ella who wakes up in hospital in someone else's body. She doesn't know how she got there but she remembers dying. Ending up at a "wellness farm" by the body's mother, she quickly meets a collection of gorgeous men who spark something deep inside her.
Apollo, Castor, Pollux and Achillies have been stuck together for the last few thousand years and have been miserable with their long long lives. but when Ella is introduced to them they discover her purpose even if she does exist in a different body this time around. But coming together isn't all sunshine and roses... Its more sunshine and solar flares that set off the end of the world... if they aren't lucky.
This is a fun, sexy RH romance filled with gods, ghosts, yoga, horses, crystals, heroes, therapists, demi-gods, the potential end of the world, hot sex and lots of post coital after glow.
Warning: this story contains M/M scenes that may not be to the taste of some viewers but its hot as F*#k to others.

This was such an interesting, quirky, funny and enthralling read.
I'm a huge fan of mythology and so this ticked some of those boxes for me. It was a modern mytho styled story, where our heroine is funky and witty but also clumsy. She meets her for delicious gods / guardians and is kind of taken on this journey of discovering who she is, and what her powers are.
Although it is a shorter book, I enjoy her story immensely and I can't wait to see where their lives end up with maybe a few shorts after this.
This story does wrap up with a proper ending, there is no cliffhanger is this book. I would love to see more of this world.
I fell in love with Ella while reading Book 1, and was really hoping she got the story she deserved. Boy did she ever. Not only is she given a second chance, but also 4 hunky gods that can help her enjoy it to the fullest. Fav scene - when Ella and Cressy reconnect. I think I read it at least 4 or 5 times because I just could NOT get enough. I loved the men in this book - as well as the addition of the m/m action. I did feel a couple parts moved a little faster than I would have preferred - but I was still happy with story as a whole. The cliffhanger was enough to have me anxiously waiting Book 3. Bring on the next God!
This book is so amazing. Like one of my favorite books I've read so far this year!! I seriously love the relationship that develops between Ella and her men. Castor, Pollux, Achilles, and Apollo are so freaking swoony. The dynamic between the characters is amazing and the steam is fire. I seriously think this is one of my favorite Serena Akeroyd books. It's that good. You need to grab this book ASAP, you definitely won't regret it. Now to just wait until the next God and guardians I can swoon over <3
Ella's back! And she's dealing with hot hot hot. Her best friend Cressida was dealt a good card - a god and two handsome guardians as husbands. But Ella, she hit the jackpot. Not three men, but four: Apollo (Pol) the god of sun, Achilles (Chill) the Greek hero, and the twin goodness that are Castor and Pollux (Tor and Lux). But with the hotness of her new husbands comes a different kind of hot, one that comes only with the dominion of the sun.
Slight warning : this book is not only a RH book, there is a plot MM story as well.
I absolutely enjoyed listening to The Sun Revolves Around Apollo. It was a new experience not being able to follow along with the book as all my Audibles thus far have had an ebook or physical copy to keep me from getting lost. However, with the changing of performers' dialect it was for the most part easily followed. I hope this is not the end of the road for this series. The question remains... Will there be a 3rd book in the series Ms. Akeroyd?
I really enjoyed this. It does have m/m in it. I love the character building, the drama, the passion, and undying love. I've always loved Greek mythology and this was a cool take on it. There is no cheating out side of their bond and no outside scorned female problems, which is why I love it. Great read and can not wait to read more about the next gods waiting for their wives.
I am so glad Ella was able to have her HEA. I love how the characters know one another (Cressy/Ella/Farrah) and are in each new series, and I hope it continues. I feel like it provides deeper character development and attachment. So far the author has provided the right woman with the right set of men, personality wise. It is a balance that works. I have been happy with each book/series read by this author and i am looking forward to the next one in the series.
Serena Akeroyd has a wonderful mind to come up with a book based around Greek Gods! I loved the beginning of the story with 'Cindy' waking up from a coma to the Achill rehab center. The story was well written and once again the queen of cliffhangers has left me wanting more. This was the second book in the Gods Are Back In Town and Ms.Akeroyd meshed the first book into this one seamlessly.
I loved this story! This entire universe is so intriguing! Greek gods in the modern world. A reimagined history is entwined with a new world feel and destiny. Apollo, Castor, Pollux, and Achilles were quite the foursome. And Ella is just the girl to manage them. Both stable scenes, the yacht scene, and the office scene were so spicy! The narration was so good. Kai did a phenomenal job. I can’t wait for Poseidon to get his story.
This book is second in The Gods are Back in town sweries. I liked it a lot but wish the relationship had been fleshed out a little bit more. Book one really hooked me and this one was great too. Just wish there was a little bit deeper development in the relationships between Ella and her guys
This book is sexy, and hilarious. The characters are well built, distinctive and the main concept leaves room for more stories while completing this one. If you havent read, or listened to because the first audio book is worth it, book 1 I strongly recommend starting there. Theres a lot in that one that sets up for this one and spoilers in this one for that one.
If you love history, the old gods and RH. This is the book for you. It's and excellent follow up to Hotter than Hades. As usual Serena weaves a wonderful story and has you wanting more.
This series just keeps getting better! I loved the first book but i think this one might be even better. Ella is hilarious and the sex scenes were off the charts hot!! Can't wait to read Farrahs story next!
I really liked this concept. I enjoyed the Main characters. Love the complete differences between the guy characters and the historical/ Greek Myth references. The main female character was spunky and funny.
This second book in the Gods are Back series is just as good as the first book. I’m really enjoying reading the books in this series and can’t wait to read the next book. I would definitely recommend this book because it is really a great book.
The first book you meet Ella and adore her character. I anxiously awaited this book and was not let down. Highly recommend. There are steamy scenes, not for prudes. Lol
I really like the Universe this series is based in. I’m always partial to a Greek gods spinoff and this is one of the best I’ve read. Can’t wait to see what comes next in this series, but the first two are very much worth the read
Yay Ella's back! Love her story and spunk. Her and her men are fun to read. Cressy makes an appearance plus some other gods. Can't wait to read the next story!
This book was much better than book 1. The storyline and the steaminess factor were much better, while the story did drag as the first it was still pretty good.
