She is trying to assassinate the Colonel when his body guard, a Native tracks her down and shots her. He is not aware that she is a woman. When he finds out he tries to make amends and takes her to his people to heal. Eventually the two learn to heal each others hearts and fall in love. HEA ending. Good read.

7/1757, Hunter (N/A Gageagaono, aka Hunter of the 4 Winds) stationed out of Ft. William Henry had worked for Colonel Grey (British Redcoat) for 2 yrs.
Cade (f, 20) had tried to assassinate Colonel Grey & failed. She must return & finish him off.
Hunter (assassin) was sent to find her. He had never killed a woman.

A change of plan. He took Cade with a bullet lodged in her but still alive to the village of his N/A Mohawk tribe.
He was greeted by his 2 brothers: Swift River, Seeker, & their mother Two Skies.
They were not happy to see either of them.
Sage (20, f, N/A healer) was taking care of Julia Cadence Cade Skye (white woman).

Sage had the hots for Hunter.
The battle between the Huron, Seneca, Mohawk (Onondagas) & the French & British continues.

What happened at White Creek?
Would Cade finally get to kill Colonel Grey?
Would Cade & Hunter fall in love?

A very awesome book cover, great font & writing style. Wow, a very well written inter-racial romance book. It was very easy for me to read/follow from start/finish & never a dull moment. There were no grammar/typo errors, nor any repetitive or out of line sequence sentences. Lots of exciting scenarios, with several twists/turns & a great set of unique characters to keep track of. This could also make another great written French, British & Indian War movie, or mini TV series. To be continued. 1 book that was hard to put down. A very easy rating of 5 stars.
