Summary:

Vedgarh, an ancient home of purebred Aryans, is a secret world in modern times where the chants of Vedic Mantras mingle with Acoustics and Applied Physics, the Maharathi warriors fight alongside Indian Army Veterans, and Ancient Daivi Astras join hands with modern Sonic Weapons. Gurukul, Vedgarh’s school, is the sole protector and preacher of sacred Vedic scriptures and Celestial powers. It is due to these powers that Vedgarh is the only corner of the universe where Dwapara Yuga persists even today. Vedgarh is in a continuous state of war with the rising dark powers of Kaliyuga: The Asuras. If Vedgarh falls, the Universe will drown in the darkness of Kaliyuga forever. Sitting on the verge of yet another war with Asuras, Vedgarh is suffering from a lack of warriors. Seeing no promising talents in the Gurukul, Vedgarh opens its gates for modern science and selects a few from the contemporary world to work on a grand mission: a mission to harmonize ancient Vedic powers with modern scientific miracles, to prepare an army of warriors equipped with ancient and modern techniques of fighting, and to invoke Daivi Astras (celestial weapons of Gods) using light and compact modern Sonic weapons. Get ready to witness Vedic Scholars, Physicists, Professors, Sacred Gurus, Ancient warriors, and Indian Army soldiers preparing for the greatest upcoming war of Daivi Astras in the history of mankind.

Vedgarh, is a city of purebred Aryanas which is hidden from the modern world. A war was going to happen against the Asuras. A Marathi warrior leads its forces and hence, the people of Vedgarh gets introduced to modern weapons and sciences.
What is going to happen?
Who will win?
Overall, I enjoyed reading this one.
This one is a mixture of Sci-fi and mythology. I really liked the cover of the book it is beautiful and also the title of the book is totally related to the story ans seems good.
It has both, the ancient world and today's logic. A well researched book. Also, at times there are Shlokas in Sanskrit which made it interesting to read. The writing style of the author is really appreciable with a good and simple language used. Narration is good going and the plot is well developed plus gripping.
The book is full of twists and turns. There are hell lots of characters but they are well developed and described.

The Whispering Dwapara is a blend of mythology and modern science. It's Rishi's first book, but it's well written.
Rishi has brilliantly created the fantasy world of Vedgarh, which is depicted as the hidden corner in the contemporary world which protects and preserves the ancient Vedic powers and wisdom.
The story starts when a man named joins the Institute of Applied Science. He is an intelligent and talented man. He is on a mission to complete his dad's unfinished project. One day while working in the lab, he is attacked and finds himself in the Kingdom of Vedgarh. On another track of the story, a major named Singh finds himself in the middle of a terrorist attack after regaining consciousness finds himself in Vedgarh. Parth and Singh are initially confused when they find themselves in Vedgarh. Kings and Scientists, Gurus and Professors, Maharathi Warriors and Indian Army Veterans, all fight against the rising dark powers the Asuras.
The book is a thriller and a very well written one. The concept is lovely and intriguing, and so is the story.
The characters could have been developed a little better, but overall a good read.

One of the best Mythology Sci-Fi Thriller which I read till date. It's Rishi's first book, but I must say the author has left no words for me to explain how good I feel after reading it out. I just love all the characters not just one in particular. The story is based on the synthesis of ancient mythology. You can see a mixture of Gurus and Professors, Kings and Scientists. All of them are fighting against dark forces thats Asuras.
In start of the book we get to see Parth who cleared exam and joined the Institute of Applied Science. His is very intelligent and talented guy, but unfortunately all of his classmates categorised him as crazy head's son. His is in mission to complete his dad's unfinished project. One fine day he entered his lab and start with his experiment. Little he knew that he would be attacked and find himself in Kingdom of Vedgarh when he gain consciousness.
On the other side a major named Singh was distrubed with a terrorist attack happened suddenly at his place, and he also found himself in Vedgarh without his knowledge.

Kingdom of Vedgarh was hidden from Kaliyug. Parth and Singh was confused why they were at Vedgarh. They came to know about things which they were unaware and those doesn't exist early for them.

Will they be part of great conspiracy? Will they suffer? How will they overcome the struggle?

When you hear about Dwapara yuga, it's all about compassion and truthfulness. The whispering Dwapara is one such story of trump over evil.
Vedgarh is an ancient home of vedic knowledge and celestial powers. The kingdom awaits eagerly to destroy the Asuras. For which the kingdom combines vedic miracles with modern technology. Will it be the end of evil?? To know further indulge in the mythological fiction that takes you around.

With an interesting title and storyline, the author keeps the readers hooked.

A perfect usage of vocabulary and sequences never let you skip a word.

An addition of sanskrit language makes it an interesting read.

A perfect look back to Indian mythology.

My Take:

A story that takes you to a different era.A blend of science, weapons and suspense. The toughest and the most liked thing about the book for me is the seamless writing , blending these genres and creating a world that enthralls you.

Partha,a youngest and bright student in (IIAP) Indian Institute Of Applied Physics is impatient and restless ,not really interested in theories, asking tough questions and dreams to fulfill by finding answers to the questions his father( a scientist who died keeping his research incomplete mystery) research .

Samsher Singh a solider who fights for his country, yet never respected much as he has made some grave mistakes in his career like killing innocent people from the neighboring country. His passion for his job borderlines craze as he shows no compassion and always believes in only wiping out the neighboring countries.

Krishnan a scientist whom Noble prize has eluded till now, is  a frustrated one who's aim is to be famous and recognized for his work.

What happens when people from this world with different agendas and dreams are taken to the Kingdom of Vedgarh? How will they help the hidden kingdom find their peace from the Asuras?

Why are humans from his planets taken there? Everyone's dreams and aspirations are connected. Will everyone win? If yes, at what cost? Get all your answers reading this beautifully written book.

Devarata the blind king, who is frustrated with himself and his inability to rule the kingdom without help. Shalvaak who is ambitious and cunning, Bhishma ,Dronacharya and Valmiki are the greats who help run the hidden kingdom and protect against the Asuras,

When all of them come together, this mystical, magical world is created. Everyone and everything is put to test. Parallel y few more characters are on their missions which connects to the larger picture. Friendship, loyalties, trust, truth, competition; all these emotions makes this a endearing read.

The suspense is added beautifully and the book promises more in the second part. Waiting for the same. The language is simple, easy to connect. Deviation from the story doesn't happen and the highlight for me is the mantras. Their importance advantages and disadvantages are explained beautifully.

I would rate this 5/5 for the wonderful plot, research and narration. Some beautiful words that stay with me forever are:

" That cosmic vibration is OM. We are all born from Brahman, or that energy womb, and are the cosmic energies ourselves. The vibrations of Om help us discover the cosmic energy within us."

"Mantras are the series if sounds that continuously generate at different levels or vibrations. These Mantras when chanted in complete conscious state, have a specific effect on our body and surroundings."

"Safety is Patriotism. Comfort is patriotism. And wealth is patriotism.People love their country for safety, comfort and wealth and betray it for safety, comfort and wealth."

"If you follow others, who will follow you?"

Starting from the cover of the book is vibrant and shows some Sanskrit Shlokas on it. With the cover, one can make an idea about the intensity of the story. As it reads A Myth Sci-Fi thriller, and so the book reveals inside. The title couldn't be more perfect and the cover is very attractive and awe-inspiring.

The story starts with a mixture of modern and mythology plot and takes us to a kingdom, which is hidden from all the satellites and radars.
Partha comes to the Gurukul by chance and gets to know that he is the chosen student from the modern world. As he steps forward, he comes to know that not just him, but some more like him, who come from Kalyug ( Modern India ) are the chosen one for this. The blind king seeks power, but how? Lord Bhisma wants to protect Dharma, but how? Asuras are there in Pataal Lok to hit back on the kingdom, they need to be stopped, but how?
Chitra, the bastard girl of the king, has a dream to rule the throne and the kingdom, but will the royal council allow it. Will she ever be able to cross the bloodline boundary?
The book takes to an era where mythology meets science. Where Astras meet weapons and where the fight still remains between Dharam and Adharam. Where there are mantras, chants, and frequencies together.
Take a tour now and witness the suspense, deception, morals, principles and the conch of war.
The story is based on the synthesis of ancient mythology (or history, as I'd like to believe) and modern-day science. It delves into the core ideas of Indian mythology and connects it to the present realities in a very believable manner.
The book is well-edited and the language is very simple to understand. The mood of the story is well maintained and Sanskrit Shloka is used at the right place, the narration was done brilliantly. I applaud the writer for his comprehensive research about mythology, philosophy, sci-fi. The way the book describes them is commendable. I really liked the writing style and narration of events. The writing style is lucid and evokes a lot of interest from varied genres that will keep readers glued till the end.
The author seems to have mastered the skill of constructing complicated characters.
The nail-biting moment, "As I said Shalvaak… when the time comes, the king has to sacrifice the pawns!” says the king.
It gave me goosebumps and nail-biting moments. It's not a cult setting story, but still creates its mark on the mind. The ending part with full of suspense and thrill, makes you wait for the next part.
While reading the book, reminds me of Mahabharata, not a copy bit inspired by it. I felt that some scene are little less elaborated at times but that can be negated.

I’ll recommend this book to all the readers, who love the blend of mythology, sci-fi and suspense ending. It’s not a cult setting story, but still creates its mark on the mind.

My first book of 2020. And I am very happy to have started with this one. This book amalgamates the interlinking of modern science with ancient vedic knowledge. The importance of vedic mantras, their chantings and the importance of the vibrations produced by them is beautifully explained in sync to the modern Acoustics and Applied Physics.

The plot is about how few selected people find themselves in a new land and wierd surroundings after some unexpected events. Later they learn that this is the only land secretly preserved from the dwapara yuga in the entire universe. And some exceptional people are given the responsibility to preserve and protect the ancient knowledge carried since thousands of years from dwapara yuga and to train and produce students from their gurukul who are supposed to carry this knowledge forward. This knowledge, thats gonna help and protect the mankind from the evil asuras in times of need and near destruction.

As the story proceeds we come accoss different characters, some striving in the gurukul some outside the gurukul, some striving to protect the kingdom, some playing tricks and some playing games in the dark. Some deadly secrets reveal towards the end leaving the reader with chills down the spine. There are many more mysteries to get unfolded and unanswered questions that I suppose we'll find out in the next part of the series. Some explanations regarding the amalgamayion of modern science and vedic knowledge blew my mind. Though its fiction, since its a mytho fiction and is scientifically explained its very relatable and feels realistic if possible! I had an amazing time reading it. Enjoyed the entire experience.

My review :
It's a great book. I was quite waiting for it ever since I first heard about it on Instagram. I liked the concept... I have read similar things on various blogs and websites, but this was the first time reading a book about Daivi Astras and Science. The characters were well defined and the events are well in line.
The book keeps the readers engaged, even through the heavy concepts of Mantras and Science.
Excellent writing style, very interesting and compact

Being a reader, I have always thought that the toughest genre to write a book is mythology and Sci-fi. You need to do a lot of research and detailing. Here comes a book which is a mixture of both and hence called "A Mytho Sci-Fi Thriller".
🌸🌸🌸🌸
Kings and Scientists, Gurus and Professors, Maharathi Warriors and Indian Army Veterans. All will fight against the rising dark powers of Pataal Loka: The Asuras.
Kingdom of Vedgarh, an ancient home of purebred Aryans sitting on the verge of yet another great war with Asuras, the kingdom is eagerly waiting for a Maharathi warrior to lead its forces. With intensifying Kaliyuga, Asuras' dark powers are rising with every passing day.
🍀🍀🍀🍀
The kingdom opens its gates for modern Science and weapons. A grand research project begins to harmonize ancient Vedic miracles with modern scientific principles. But the budding internal politics is eating up the kingdom like parasites. Will it impact the research project as well? What will happen if an internal conflict arises between Modern Science and Ancient Vedic science? Will Asuras win and destroy the universe's last hope of defeating the Kaliyuga forever?
I really liked the following things-
1) Excellent writing style, very interesting, it's tough to write this genre.
2) Being a fan of Indian mythology, I was hooked up by the narration and plot. Kudos to the writer.
3) Author has used sanskrit shlokas/mantras at every possible situation, which works as an added advantage.
4) The connection between modern and ancient worlds seems logical.
5) The best line of the book was- "The day I sit on that throne would be the last day of the council".(pg-176). 6) The Scoreboard drawn gives you a realistic feeling of a war/practice going on. (pg 209-214). 7) The use of logical diagrams and bold letters shows the importance of story. (pg 216,234).
8) The book Cover is amazing. One of the best USP of this book.
9) The story has not been stretched, reader will able to connect it. I could even visualise scenes.
10) The writing is mature enough. Language is lucid. Narration is crisp and clear.

Author has written an amazing story and has impressive narrations style. Title goes well with the the story narrated. Author is successful in keeping the story interesting and fascinating till the end.
Story uses a lot myhlogical names/charecters but has no relation with actual epic Mahabharata.
Plot starts slowly and starts gaining pace as pages are turned. Plot keeps changing and appear new with each new twist in tale. A lot of instances in story reminds us of Harry Potter due to similarities such as school, houses/group in school, Partha's charecter with Harry etc.
Plot is mainly about good people saving kingdom of Vedgarh from rising dark powers of "Asuras" and has a lot of sub plots a boy "Partha" who wants to finish his father's last unfinished work, a scientist Mr. Krishnan who wants to win noble prize, a guru "Drona" who works for students welfare and also save king, "Bishma" strongest and most experienced grandfather of presents king who blindly accepts his lineage , a clever minister "Shalvaak" who wants to topple the king, "Chitra" daughter who wants to make name / honor, a few chosen students who aspire to be be maharathis, asura army to invade kingdom and create chaos, a Major "Samsher Singh" army commander who is ready to put everything at stake to win over Pakistan, a weak king who wants to consolidate all power under him etc. To know more about each person, how are each related, who is good, etc read the book to enter this magical kingdom which has ancient warfare knowledge and astras (arrows with magical power) and researching on modern day futuristic sonic weapons etc.
Author has ended the book at a perfect juncture that leaves readers with lot of curiosity feeling to read the next book.

Would recommend to all who love reading fiction books.

This is a very beautiful book with a Indian mythic touch to its taste. If I would have a short review then I would have said it 'Vedic version of Harry Potter'
Not perfectly but at some points I felt that I am reading a Indian or vedic version of Harry Potter.
This author has a super power of moving the story very-very smoothly.
Just this book is must read, and worth read.
This book keeps the reader engaged throughout the story.
I am pretty impressed by such beautiful writing style of author.

This book has a good potential, it could have been ,much better. I hated all the "borrowed" stuff from Harry Potter stories. This book lacks originality, the only interesting thing about the book is that its sci-fi meeting mythology. After a long time, we can see each everyone having a lion's share in the plot and difficult to tag one character as protagonist. The writing style is not all interesting, I see the author trying to use many flashy words which broke my flow of reading. The characters have no depth in them, I just couldn’t bare them. This book was so terrible, that I didn’t even could reach to the ending. The cover is good and eye catching. I wish this book could be re-written

Genre: Sci-Fi 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
The more we learn about science, the more we realise we are rediscovering what ancient Vedas uncovered ages ago. Even Big Bang and Nuclear Physics was part of this sacred knowledge. The story starts with Partha Shastri trying to complete his late father's thesis involving sonic celestial weapons (astras) described Mahabharata and Ramayana summoned by humans. He accidentally produces sound of very low frequency by chanting mantra (beyond our audible range). He is taken to the Kingdom of Vedagraha, hidden in the Himalayan mountains, due to strong magnetic field around it. (This part is undigestable for me as Partha doesn't get induction or welcome). Vedagraha has a blind King Devrata, a Gurukul (school) under Guru Dronacharya. The Kingdom is purely Aryaan and Partha reluctantly joins it. Partha meets two new friends; Aniruddha and Pawan. Vedagraha merges Vedic Lifestyle and Modern Technology (Kalyuga) with projectors, electronic circuits and Google alongwith swords and maces. Partha quickly picks up on his new life as a Gurukul Student. He is more close to uncovering his father's thesis than ever. Just then, he is caught amongst a vicious conspiracy to destroy Vedagraha. With his friends at his side he quests to uncover the truth. Guru Drona thinks he can make a good Maharathi warrior (Someone awaited for 15 years). There is explanation of Vedas, something the so called modern Indians turn down as myth. To all those unfortunate souls this book might serve as a great eye-opener.
______________
The story is absolutely mind-numbing. The plot is well written. The characters are soundly built. The twists were beyond my imagination. This is one of those 'fictious world' that I want to part of (after Harry Potter). The readers need some patience as the truth (shocking and bewildering) uncovers only in the end. It is one of those books I suggest to anxious parents who wants to get their children into reading. On the downside, the narration and use of language is bit slack.

The whispering Dawpara-The rise of Maharathis. By Rishi(Book one of the forbidden rhyme series)
🌸353 pages
🌸Mytho sci-fi thriller
🌸₹285
🌸Notion press
BLURB-Set in modern day India and the kingdom of vedgarh, somewhere near the indo-china border where it's still dwapara yug. Vedgarh is hidden from the rest of the world in order to preserve ancient vedic knowledge from the Kaliyug the two worlds collide when Partha from kolkata and an army general, major singh are brought to vedgarh.
A hidden world full of mystics and miracles. Why does it sound familiar? Hogwarts? Well, apart from the slight resemblance of a hidden world and gurukul system of education, everything is different. Its a fine blend of sci-fi, indian mythology and fantasy. Vedgarh is on the verge of another great war with the Asuras and to prevent this they are conducting research for supersonic weapons. But will that be enough? Will the internal conspiracies eat the kingdom like a parasite? Will the Asuras win and vedic knowledge be lost forever?
OPINION-
1.Writing fiction is easy. Aligning it with scientific evidence very difficult. This story is a fusion of ancient vedic knowledge, scientific facts and modern weaponry.
2.The whole of vedgarh with its palaces, forts and gurukul, the divisions of warriors, daivastras, supernatural beings like hellhounds, Pegasus, the division of the tribes, everything is meticulously detailed.
3.There are many characters but never in the story does it get confusing even for a second. Usage of names from mahabharat made it relatable. I loved the strong female characters and smart male characters. Each character has a story on their own and a specific purpose.
4. The balance between the ancient and modern warfare is amazing. The research done is commendable. Use of charts, illustrations, mantras, shlokas and the reference to Vedas adds an ingenuity.
5.The cover is eye-catching and title intriguing. Effortless language, fast pace, unique plot, terrific narration and stellar presentation makes it an enthralling rollar coaster.
6. The story ends in a cliffhanger. Its filled with suspense and thrill. A delight to read.

Book:The Whispering Dwapara
Author:Rishi
Genre: Mythological Cum Sci-fi Thriller
Version: Kindle
💜💜
Why read this book?
Its perfect Mythological Sci-fi Thriller. Those who would love to read an Indian based (Vedic era) Mythological book then it is a must read. Also if you like to read books that quest upon ancient and modern era then it's a must read too. It describes scientific concept with ancient vedic.
📓📓
Partha, a student in a Prestigious institute in Kolkata, wishing to complete his dead fathers research, is transported while chanting the Gayatri Mantra. Similar fate is met by Major Singh, in the glaciers of Leh, while trying to protect his army from an uncanny attack.
🤓🤓
Where are they transported to?
The well hidden Kingdom of Vedgarh, where, "the mission to harmonize ancient Vedic Knowledge with modern science". This grand research project begins to harmonize ancient Vedic miracles with modern scientific principles and also is going to prevent the world from falling into the grasps of Asuras from the patal lok.
😵😵
Kings and Scientists, Gurus and Professors, Maharathi Warriors and Indian Army Veterans all will fight against the rising dark powers of Pataal Loka: The Asuras.
But the budding internal politics is eating up the kingdom like parasites.
🙆
These questions arise during the read
Will all these incidents effect the research project? What will happen if an internal conflict arises between Modern Science and Ancient Vedics? Will Asuras win and destroy the universe's last hope of defeating the Kaliyuga forever? What will be fate of the kingdom itself with the rise of the Asuras? What will be the fate of these outsiders from ' Kaliyuga' in this kingdom?
Will another Maharathi rise?
🤓🤓
I feel that mythological Sci-fi toughest genre to write a book especially India Mythological because Ancient Indian is quite diverse and not so easy to understand. In order to write this genre book firstly you need to do a lot of detailed research!!! Then you need to blend it in a story in such a way that the modern readers feel it realistic as well as keep them hooked and hence I appreciate the Author for his immense patience and hard-work.I enjoyed reading...

As this title suggest "The Whispering Dwapara" a reader will no doubt feel that the book is a mythological one.
My first opinion about this book before beginning this read was the book might be based on a story of dwapar Yuga but after going through few pages the suspense was to high.
The story begins at Indian Institute of Applied Physics, (Kolkata).
Parth, a student of IIAP willing to fulfill his father's dream research. Major Shamsher Singh in leh trying to save his Army base camp from uncanny attack.
Major Shamsher Singh and Parth both are transported to somewhere in no time.
Gurukul setup in the 'kingdom of Vedgarh' which is hidden in the Himalayas preserving ancient Vedic knowledge waiting for a Maharathi Warrior to lead its force but with the rising powers of asuras it opens its Gate to modern science and weapons but the budding internal politics is eating up the kingdom like parasites.
Everyone will fight against the rising powers of Asuras from Pataal Lok.

Right from the beginning I was hooked up with this read.
The language is easy to understand.
In this er, the ancient Vedic knowledge and modern science is fighting to prove their superiority but this book has combined both and presented them as supporter to one another which I liked the most.
The shlokas and few drawings catch the attention of readers
The ancient names are given to characters.
characters like Dr. Krishna, Guru Drona Lord Bhishma, chitra, shalvaak, Parth, Major Shamsher Singh play a major role.
There's a conspiracy which has been brought up very well and interestingly grab the book to know whether the conspiracy finds its destination or gets exposed.
Completely a fascinating and worthy read.

📚 The Whispering Dwapara by Rishi is a perfect blend of mystery, thriller, science-fiction and mythological genres. The story begins with Partha who is working on his father's incomplete research on Acoustics and without knowing he opens a door for himself to enter a mysterious kingdom of Vedgarh, situated in the lap of The great Himalayas, where he founds himself in the midst of abundant knowledge, experience of a lifetime, great gurus, trustworthy friends and incessant conspiracies. The story revolves around uniting the areas of Applied Physics, Astrophysics and Quantum Mechanics with Vedic Science, Daivi Astras and Mantras. With the mission to harmonize the Vedic knowledge with modern science. 📚 The book is amazing at so many levels. Writer's attention to deatils and in-depth knowledge on both science & mythology is commendable. The writer has done a remarkable work in introducing various characters throughout the book without leaving us confused or left out. Author has chosen some wonderful characters from the ocean of Hindu Mythology, Like Bheeshma & Drona and has glorified them to the new level. The book is compelling, once yoy start it, you can't rest until its all done. The language used is engrossing yet simple. There are lots of scientific terms used but it's all very easy to understand and makes the book more fascinating. 📚 I totally enjoyed reading it and can't wait to know what happens next! The Whispering of Dwaparas is a mytho-sci-fi book written by Rishi.⠀
The whole story is about the Kingdom of Vedgarh, hidden from the modern world and that prevents the influence of Kaliyuga with Vedic knowledge and Gurus.⠀
A huge conspiracy is brewing up in the kingdom after the arrival of some 'outsiders' and the trio-Pawan,Partha and Anirudh is determined to unwind the mystery. But the problems they try to solve seems to be strangling them harder.⠀
Moreover the kingdom faces threats from Palatal loka and is in an urgent need for a third Maharathi. Will Lord Bheeshma and Guru Drona able to find a new maharathi??⠀
Can Ani save Pawan being branded as traitor?⠀
Will Partha be able to earn the mighty Bhramastra??⠀
Who is the real pawn in this game-Shalvaak,Chitra,Devrata or the gurus?⠀

There are so many questions popping up and if you want to know the answers go grab the book!!!⠀

What I liked about the book---⠀
➡Perfect blend of mythology and science: Author uses Sanskrit shlokas and it's ⠀
meanings to describe science theories.I had a thought that the Vedic Astras were ⠀
some kind of physical weapon that is given by the god himself( like when you ⠀
chant the mantra for zillion times,he appears and gives you a weapon 😑 because that's what TV serials show). But now I understand the concept.⠀
➡The connection between modern world and Vedgarh is shown nicely.⠀
➡Use of tables and diagrams:This was a brilliant idea especially the details of ⠀
Astras,Rathi warriors and the point tables of Rangbhoomi prelims.⠀
➡ Language used is simple⠀
➡ Character building is good:I could differentiate between each one of them.⠀

This book is definitely a page turner and I felt it ended too abruptly because there were several questions to be answered.⠀

PS:The usage of names from Mahabharat (Drona,Bheeshma)confused me a bit at the start😁untill Ani explained the reason.

Name: The Whispering Dwapara: The Rise of Maharathis
Author: Rishi
Genre: Historical Sci-fi
Pages: 310
My rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐
.
Synopsis: This is the story of the kingdom of Vedgarh, an ancient abode of Purebred Aryans in contemporary times, nestled amidst the Himalayas and hidden from modern societies. Due to a on-going fight between good and evil, light and dark, Vedgarh had to open its doors to modern science and starts a grand research project- a project to harmonize ancient Vedic powers with modern scientific miracles. The aim is to invoke Daivi Astras equipped with modern tech. Vedic Gurus, Professors, Ancient warriors all come together to fight one common enemy.
.
As a reader, I have been most unsatisfied when it comes to reading materials infusing modern technology with mythological fiction.
In this book both has been fused seamlessly.
The writing style is very good. Error are there but can be ignored.
The use of Sanskrit makes the story a plausible one. It doesn't feel far fetched or over the top.
I loved the diagrams.
It felt like a story that has been written after thorough research and it is not something that has just been slapdashed together.
The cover is very beautiful. It makes me wish that Kindle had colours.
The characterization is good, although some characters could do with a little more developing. I hope they will be gleamed in the next book.
The scientific aspect of Indian Mythology has been wonderfully portrayed. I loved reading it and would recommend it to my fellow readers

Vedic Seers were the scientists of their times. The ancient Indian Vedic texts are the oldest texts in the world and contain treasures of knowledge in them.
The entire science and technology today is based on the mathematics invented by ancient Vedic scholars.

"The Whispering Dwapara" is a gripping story that is based on ancient Vedic science and connects to modern science. In other words a perfect blend of mythology and sci-fic.
Both the genre's are totally different but the author has managed to bring the story so perfectly that the book is hard to put down.
The story proceeds with the narration of Parth, a student from Kolkata who wants to complete his father's pending research and while chanting Gayatri Mantra, he lands somewhere without his knowledge.
The place seems completely different and ancient.
There are many characters introduced in book in different scenarios.
The Kingdom of Vedgarh is narrated in a fascinating way.
The suspense is maintained throughout the book.
There are Shlokas written which gives a magical touch to the story.
The theme was unique and creative.
Loved the whole journey of reading this book.
My suggestion : If you are a mythology or Science - fiction lover grab this book at the earliest to enjoy a brilliant work of the Author.

A book so majestic and enthralling, it leaves the reader craving for more. To date, this is one of the best books by any Indian author that I have read. Being a huge fan of Indian mythology, I have been waiting for a book that logically links Vedic and Modern Sciences in a thrilling Fantasy world. The Whispering Dwapara is exactly the kind of book I was looking for. Rishi has brilliantly created the fantasy world of Vedgarh, which is depicted as the hidden corner in the contemporary world which protects and preserves the ancient Vedic powers and wisdom. Sitting on the verge of a great war with dark powers of Kaliyuga, Vedgarh opens its gates for Modern Scientific powers to mingle with Ancient Vedic powers.
Author has done some tremendous research in writing this book, both about Vedic knowledge and about modern scientific principles. The use of Sanskrit Mantras along with Acoustics and Applied Physics left me awestruck. And kudos to the author to maintain a perfect balance between Ancient world (of Maharathi Warriors, Vedic Powers and Daivi Astras) and Contemporary world (of Applied Physicists, Indian Army Veterans and Scholars).
I highly recommend this book for all Mythology, Science Fiction, Mystery, Politics, and Fantasy lovers. Its like reading the Indian Version of Harry Potter, but with a better writing style and an excellent plot.
