I read this to recommend to students as a high school teacher and year advisor. Such a relatable read for a high school ages female.

I bought this for my tween age daughter but decided to dive in myself.

Turia is a talented and accomplished woman and a damn good writer to boot. Her practical advice and pragmatic tips are great for developing tweens and teens. And bloody great for adults who might be struggling with mindset.

Buy it for every tween or teen you know. And nab a copy for yourself, too.

Good Selfie: Tips & Tools for Teens to Nail Life

I really enjoyed this book as a high school student because I love how she had so much persevered against all odds and how she didn't let everyone's expectations stop her from rebuilding her life. I also love this book because she interacts with other teens who aren't confident within themselves and gives them really great advice to achieve their goals and overcome obstacles in their life.

I have always used gratitude to help myself deal with negative thoughts and write them in my diary because nothing beats a pen and paper. As a confident teenage girl who has been confident for so long (not bragging, sorry if it sounds like it), I have learnt in this book that confidence doesn't mean that people will like me. Confidence mean that I will be fine if they don't because I rely on what other think of me, then it shows that it's the only way I feel good about myself. I feel good about myself when I am doing any sport, working out, taking pride in my appearance, helping others, being intelligent, how I help others and achieving my goals. I write my goals down every year and create a vision board. I look at it every day and I work towards my goals. At each hour, I write what goals I worked on during that hour. When writing your goals, it's important to have a reason why you're going to do it otherwise you're most like not going to do it.

Being confident also means having respect for yourself as well as other people. For example, you wouldn't say horrible things to yourself because it hurts just as much when other people say horrible things to you.

I also liked how she had activities in the book to help us smash our goals and develop ourselves. It was another brilliant way of interaction with the readers.

I recommend this to teenagers and adults who don't have that much confidence in themselves because this book can seriously change you and your mindset for good.
