PJ Fiala is a new to me author, and I gotta say, I'm already in love with her exciting writing style that I found quite addictive. I mean, anytime an author starts a story out with an S.O.S call with some ninja moves afterwards, I already know that the story will keep me on the edge of my seat. And those ninja was the heroine which means she's a bad a** though she's the one on the run from danger. See, Sophie is in some serious trouble, after her is murdered, but it's put down to suicide. She doesn't believe the suicide part, so she's investigating it herself, but the lead she's found ends up dead, it lands her as the lead suspect, and this is where her brother's best friend, Gaige comes in. Sophie can't trust anyone, but she trusts Gaige to help her. However, there's some complications, like Gaige has always wanted Sophie, but that whole bro code thing, then things from the investigation aren't adding up, so he's becoming suspicious of Sophie, so that's not going to help his case of making her his. So how does he prove her innocence without ruining all that's he built in his career?! Yeah, it's quite the situation, and frankly, I did get a bit pissy at him for doubting her. He should have known that she wouldn't have called him after all that time if she were guilty, but I guess no one is perfect right? It definitely gave it some serious angst, making a push & pull to which had me wanting to pull my hair out. These two had some serious chemistry which was magnified throughout from all the chaos of her life, so you already know there were some sexy times coming off STEAMY! Now, let's talk about the suspense, it was thick, so the twists were around every corner which made me happy! In fact, you could find me in my happy place dropping some loud f-bombs at the shocking revelations as each layer was revealed. So, this new to me author has firmly landed herself on my list with this fantastic new series, and if you want to see how this all panned out, you already know what to do, one click this bad boy! HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
