Chloe is a hometown girl from Tennessee who loves a great short romance, drinking coffee most of the day, and hanging out with family. When she's not writing, she can be found playing the piano or surfing Facebook! Having been a reader all her life, she's hoping that you'll find yourself lost to time, laughing and falling in love all over again with her books.
In this insta-love story you have two lawyers Dane and Audrey. They both work for a top defense office looking to climb the professional ladder and make senior partner. Audrey has worked for the company for four years, where as Dane has only been there for one. Audrey has had to fight for her position on the way to the top, seeing as she is a girl in a male dominated career. Dane, who has just won a major case, is moving up that ladder faster than Audrey can all because, well you guessed it, he’s a guy.
When the boss man and senior partner, Preston, calls them both into his office, Audrey feels like she is about to be passed over for the promotion. Come to find out that there is a big case/client, and if they win, it would be great for the the company-and they are to both represent him, with Dane being lead consul.
As they prep for the trial, the two have some arguments on what evidence needs to be trashed and what doesn’t. When it came to the trial date, day one went smoothly with both of them rocking the court and the jurors. Day two, however, not so much. They tried to one up each other on everything. Day three went better as they had a little heart to heart and said for the sake of the client they would put their differences aside and work together to win this case.
Over the weekend, Dane thought they could both use some rest and relaxation and invited her for a spa day. This turned into dinner, then a walk, ending at his condo for the rest of the weekend. When court resumed on Monday things went a lot better for them and the client. When it was all said and done, well you have to read to find that out. Great quick read if you just need a little pick me up or do not have time for a full length novel.
i read this book as part of an arc program. This is the enemies to lovers story of Audrey and Dane. Audrey is a lawyer who is working for the firm and trying to make partner. She has been a workaholic and doesn't date. When Dane joins the firm right out of law school and is now the new golden boy, he is also after the partnership. Dane also likes Audrey and tries to win her over, but she hates him. They are competing for the same job, so when the boss calls them both into his office, they both think it is about the promotion. The boss wants them to work together on a huge case and he puts Dane in charge, even though Audrey has worked there longer and has more experience. Audrey and Dane clash from the beginning and it is underlined with sexual tension. When they fight late one night at the office, their attractions explode and Audrey instantly regrets it, leaving Dane disappointed. When they continue to fight in court with each other, even thought they are on the same side, Dane knows something has to give. Dane and Audrey agree to a truce and work together and Dane hopes for more. I liked this book. I liked Dane and i thought he really cared for Audrey and he respected her. Audrey liked Dane, even thought she doesn't want to and i think she knew her career would stay the same at the firm. Good one.
This was not my favorite book from this author. It’s tough to like a story when you can’t like one of the leading characters. It’s doubly difficult in a read as quick as this one. Normally, I love watching lawyers argue. There’s so much passion to be found while they’re defending their positions, but I didn’t find Audrey passionate. I thought she was a bitter, vengeful stick-in-the-mud. She was so caught up in the belief that she was being treated unfairly and that Dane hadn’t earned any of his accolades, that she couldn’t let go of her anger and spite to embrace the opportunity in front of her. I thought Dane was badly shortchanged in this pairing. I found him to be sweet and charming. And he had enough passion for both of them. He deserved a woman who was capable of getting over herself, or at the very least able to get out of her own way. I would have liked to see more emotional growth from Audrey to explain how they got to the adorable ending. I received a complimentary advanced copy of this book from the author.
Audrey has been working hard for her firm so she can make partner. Dane has been with the firm long but he is also in the running to make partner. One day their bosses call them into their office to tell them about a case they'll both be working on. However Dane will be in charge which upsets Audrey since she has seniority. Sparks fly between them as they start to work. Then when they get into a fight about the case Dane kisses her and Audrey is shocked so she leaves. Dane is a little disappointed when Audrey says she doesn't want involved other than work. Will they be ale to continue working together? Can Dane convince her to give him a chance?
This is an amazing story that will captivate you from beginning to end. The chemistry between them is blazing hot. This is a well written and very entertaining story. I would recommend this book to any book lover.
Just another quick and beautifully crafted book by Ms. Morgan. Inside these well designed pages, you meet Dane and Audrey. These two wonderful characters are competing for partner at their current firm and although she has more experience and wins, they are being forced to work together on a difficult and high profile case. Reluctant doesn't even begin to describe Audrey's feelings on this younger attorney. But the sparks will suck you right into the drama and romance of it all. Whatever It Takes has an incredible happily ever after and following their journey is what makes this such a delightfully delicious book.
I was beyond fortunate to have requested an advanced reader's copy of Whatever It Takes in exchange for my honest/voluntarily given opinion and I highly recommend to reader's looking for a great storyline by a superbly talented Author.
This was a really good office romance. I loved the competition between Dane and Audrey and the chemistry between them, both in and out of the courtroom. The lawyer in me also enjoyed the courtroom drama and how they pieced together the puzzle of who was really embezzling the funds. (This was also done successfully without any legal inaccuracies, which always annoy me greatly in stories). It was also great how the competition for who would make partners culminated - leading them on a different path than either originally intended.
I received an advanced reader copy of this story and voluntarily provided this review.
Plenty of sparks and steam in this enemies to lovers read
Audrey, a four year law associate, has disliked Dane, a first year law associate, since he came to the law firm. As the story progresses her dislike grows, his determination to win shows, and if they cannot learn to appreciate each other things will blow up. Chloe Morgan has been busy in this enemies to lovers read providing a quick relationship turn around with plenty of sparks and steam.
I received a free copy of the book from the author. I had the opportunity to review or not.
A Short Story that’s Completely Pleasing. Loved this attorney based storyline where two attorneys, Audrey and Dane are pitted against each other by the senior partners. But, guess who has the last laugh when the two get past the enemy stage and move to lover stage. Yup! Chloe Morgan usually writes great love stories and this story doesn’t disappoint. It’s a short story but nothing is missing from the storyline. Definitely recommending this book for your reading enjoyment and pleasure. I am leaving this review for your consideration. Peace.
I'm giving this book a total of 3.5 stars, it's definitely not one of my favorites from this author. I wasn't very fond of the two main characters and for me that makes it hard to like their story fully. It's an insta romance between two lawyers who are competing for the same position within their law firm. Now having said that, just because it wasn't one of my favorites doesn't mean it won't be one of. yours. Please look at the authors synopsis as well as the other reviews to make your decision if this is your next book.
Whatever it Takes follows Dane Sinclair and Audrey Tanner. Both are lawyers working at the same law firm, and trying to make it to partner. When Dane and Audrey are given a new case to work on together, one that will bring lots of money to the firm, Audrey is angry that she is forced to work with someone on a case that, she feels, should be hers. When things become heated in the court room, Dane decides they need some time to relax, which leads to them finally becoming closer in the court room. But will Audrey keep pushing Dane away? Or will Dane be able to convince her to give him a chance?
Excellent Enemies to Lovers book...The tension between attorney's Dane Sinclair and Audrey Tanner is palpable he's the new golden boy at the Law Firm they work for and she is slaving away in a male-dominated environment where she doesn't get the recognition she deserves. When they are forced to work together on a case sparks fly in so many directions, the sexual chemistry is as strong as the need to compete with one another.
Audrey has worked tirelessly for many years to become partner at the law form where she works at. In waltzes in Dane, fresh out of law school who might get the promotion, until one day their boss puts them together on the same case. Can they put aside their dislike of each other to win the case or not??? It is a fun hot read that Chloe Morgan wrote to entertain you to the end. I honestly volunteered to review an arc.
Audrey and Dane work in the same law firm and are both competing for partner.. Dane likes Audrey but she wants nothing to do with the man who is trying to take the position she has worked so hard for.. When it appears Dane, who has less experience than Audrey is going to get the job she is furious.. The boss then puts them on a case together and things get heated in more ways than one. Will love win in the end or will becoming partner be more worth it
Fabulous work enemies to lovers romance!! What happens when you have two type A lawyers vying for the same partnership and put on the same case? You get fireworks of the snarky one up-man ship kind and plenty of the lusty kind! Will they be able to keep things professional, or will their rivalry and chemistry create a divide that can't be crossed? Great story line and awesome characters will keep you glued!
I received this book as an advanced copy & am choosing to review it voluntarily.
Another gripping short story from Chloe Morgan. The characters are well formed and extremely believable it's easy to visualise the law firm setting, courtroom and other locations.
The chemistry between the leads Audery and Dane is electric from the start.
I loved the story from the start and recommend to all romance readers.
Devlin can't help but be attracted to his sexy coworker. Audrey has worked hard to get where she is. There is a fine line between love and hate. Will Audrey give him a chance? Will Devlin find a solution to their problems?
Loved this love-hate read! I loved how Devlin was determined to do what he could to keep her, even if at times he definitely put his foot in his mouth. I loved how Audrey was determined to be successful, but wasn't willing to accept anything but hard work. Steamy read!

There is hardly enough time in a Novella to lay out the storyline for an enemy to lovers angle to work, this one does but its rushed so I say barely ( tongue to cheek ). Dane and Audrey are vying for the same Partnership in their Law firm and the story goes from there. It's an easy reas, standalone HEA. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book. If it was a longer book the storyline could have been fleshed out more, also characters could have used protection.
I enjoyed Audrey & Dane's story. It was an intriguing book that I really got into. I'm voluntarily leaving an honest review for a copy of the book via an arc program.
