This is one of the cutest things ever! Jasper and Kai are adorable together and I really appreciated how accepting Jasper was of Kai and of the fact that he doesn't speak for reasons that he's not ready to share yet. It's not every day that I also love the side characters but I must say that Emma was just great and an awesome and supportive friend to Jasper.

This is so wholesome in a lot other level! They both have their histories but it's dealt with so amazingly. The communication, the allowance of emotions, and just the trust between them.

Nice, comforting story about Jasper who's working at a library where he's meeting Kai. Although Jasper never looked for a relationship, he's crushing on that shy and silent guy and soon they are starting texting which then leads to more.

I really liked this webcomic a lot. It had been recommended to me by a friend who said it’s one of their favorites. I can understand why as the communication between the two main characters is top tier. It was wonderful seeing them both grow and fall in love.

#Muted is definitely the cutest work I've ever got from Yaoi Revolution. It's nearly to opposite of their usual smexy focused content... I'm totally here for it. Despite #Muted being freely available on Tapas and Webtoon I will likely by the two following volumes when they are released. It is available free to read and I really recommend it.
This is adorable. Jasper has this extreme exuberance that is realistic but unusual to see in fictional librarians. His bestie and co-worker is Emma, loud and a little choatic. She is nothing but supportive of Jasper's relationship with Kai. Kai is heartbreaking, he is so beautifully expressive for a mute character. Kandismon uses manga colouring and expressions combined with icons to communicate Kai's mood and tone.
I love books with disability representation, even if Kai's may be more psychological than physical. We don't know why Kai is mute. There is definitely a story there. Just because Kai doesn't speak to Jasper, or his friend Emma, it doesn't mean he doesn't speak to the reader. We spend some time in side his head. We know his concerns and his anxiety. The presentation of his anxiety is perfect. Anxiety is shown as being underwater, not drowning, just being underwater.

Very cute, but rather slow story. Kai being muted needed to be explained earlier both in the book and in the timeline of dating Jasper. Nice graphics, strong on facial drawings. I liked the college age of the main characters (Jasper, Emma, and Kai). I greatly appreciated their positive nature.
The wedding scene with muted Kai was surely not a wise move. I immediately questioned in the story line. It felt like a high-school scene that didn't belong. First time meeting parents should NOT be at such a huge event.
Jasper's Mom remained the over-bearing authority. Jasper's older brother Jacob could see their mom not even liking his wife, so the dislike extended to Jasper's boyfriend was no surprise. It was good to see Jasper's youngest brother Eli eventually realize the brain-washing he was receiving as the lone person living with his mom.
Big Bro Jacob to Jasper (in kitchen, talking about their mom):
"I don't think anyone is ever going to be good enough for her sons, regardless of who it is. So instead of trying to please our mother, we might as well just do what makes us happy, right?"
I won't spoil the specifics of the ending. But I was definitely happy though.
I was reading a couple of other books simultaneously with the word "Cry" in their title, so this cute warm-feeling book helped offset those depressed feelings. I just wish the pace of the book and the relationship itself between Jasper and Kai would have moved faster.

Optisch wirklich ein Hingucker! Sofern man auf farbliche Hochglanzmangas steht (wie ich!). Inhaltlich ergibt die Hintergrundgeschichte außerdem durchaus Sinn und beweist etwas Tiefe. Aber die Annäherung der Hauptfiguren konnte mich nicht ganz mitreißen und ich stelle in Frage, ob angesichts der psychischen Lage überhaupt eine Basis für eine Beziehung da sein sollte.

If I could give this more stars I WOULD!!
I loved every second of this comic. The characters are so relatable and flawed, their development through the story is marvelous.
The heavy topics sprinkled with just right amount of delightful humour, coupled with the amazing writing makes for a really emotional and enjoyable read ❤️
10/10 would recommend 🙌

Wie süß sind die zwei bitte?! Und omg ist Kai maybe demisexuell?! Please!! Das wäre so toll!! Ich liebe die beiden und bin so gespannt, welche Päckchen Kai mit sicher herumträgt, dass er sich so unter Wasser gezogen fühlt. Die Zeichnungen sind wunderschön, die Geschichte ist wunderschön und ich brauche mehr!! 🥹💛

This is a web comic on on Tapas. The creator isn’t finished yet. There are three chapters left. For the most part it is interesting. I think that people that enjoyed heartstopper would really enjoy this.
One of the main character Kai, is mute due to a past experience. We still don’t know what exactly happened but we do know that he feels very ashamed for his past.
The other character is Jasper is a librarian. He has issues with his family and not living up to their expectations.
This webcomic follows their relationship and trying to get their own personal issues.
I would like to start by complimenting the art style. The art is beautiful. Kai is mute yet, he has so expressive. By looking at him you can tell what he wants to say. He some feels like an actual person.
I also found there problems interesting. They both have a lot mental issues. Jasper thinking that he is not good enough. Kai’s anxiety and not being able to express himself.
Emma is a side character. She is Asexual. It is a very minor part of her character. That was a neat touch. She is very enjoyable.
The reason that I didn’t rate it higher is because I don’t care about romance too much. Even though there is a big focus on their issues, the story is mostly on their relationship. They are cute but for me to be interest their has to be something else going on that can show that each character can stand in their own. Which there is but still. (This is a preference thing. Das ist Kai, der aus diesem Zitat spricht. Ein junger Mann, der mit sich und seinem Leben hadert. Dabei erfährt man in diesem ersten Band dieser 3-bändigen Reihe noch nicht genau, weswegen er so verunsichert ist. Ist es Depression? Oder steckt mehr dahinter? Am Ende des ersten Bandes weiß man, es geht um Mutismus und wahrscheinlich eine Form des totalen Mutismus, also des gar-nicht-Sprechens. Letztendlich lässt sich diese Symbolik, wenn man genauer darüber nachdenkt, auch im Titel 'Muted' wiederfinden. Und da ich selbst Betroffene bin/war, ist mir dies natürlich bewusst gewesen. Mich hat dieser erste Band aber dennoch überrascht, vor allem mit der Diversität - besonders im Bereich der Sexualität - der Charaktere. Ich würde sogar soweit gehen, zu sagen: 'Muted' ist das neue 'Heartstopper'.
Kai weiß noch nicht so richtig, wohin mit sich. Jasper ist geoutet als gay und seine Kollegin Emma ist Asexuell.
Die drei lernen sich in der Bibliothek kennen, in der Jasper und Emma arbeiten. Während Jasper eher der ernste und verantwortungsvolle Bibliothekar ist, ist Emma noch frisch im Beruf, spielt in ihrer Freizeit MMOs und liebt süße Dinge. Letztes hat sie mit Kai ein wenig gemein.

Was war das bitte für ein herzerwärmender Titel!
Ich muss zugeben, dass mich #muted zwar bei der Ankündigung angesprochen hat, aber ich habe den Titel ja mal sowas von unterschätzt! Nicht nur, dass der Zeichenstil ganz zauberhaft ist, vor allem die Charaktere und die Tiefe der Geschichte haben es mir total angetan!
Ich hab mich von Anfang an in Jasper und Kai verliebt und finde jede ihrer Eigenarten toll ausgearbeitet und in die Geschichte eingebettet. Man kann wirklich sagen, dass sich die beiden wunderbar ergänzen. Noch dazu hat die Dynamik zwischen den Lovebirds etwas an sich, dass die Seiten nur so zum Knistern bringt. Vor allem auf emotionaler Ebene punktet die Geschichte für mich nochmal extra! Kai ist ja stumm und dass das einen psychischen Hintergrund hat, wird schnell deutlich. Dabei wird diese Seite der Geschichte wirklich anschaulich und sensibel gezeigt. Noch braucht Kai, bis er sich öffnen kann, aber man merkt ihm deutlich an, dass es langsam wieder Licht am Ende des Tunnels sieht. „#muted“ hat mich wirklich so sehr begeistert, daher gibt es eine Herzensempfehlung von mir. Ich freue mich total auf die Geschichte und kann Band 2 kaum erwarten.

I'm only putting volume one on my bookshelfs even though I finished the whole series because I kind of feel it's unfair for my list of the year.
I really enjoyed this! I felt it was super cute and I thoroughly enjoyed the relationships between the characters, specially Jasper and Kai. It's not 5 stars because it's kind of short and, since I read it daily on Webtoon, I feel like it lost some of its magic, as the chapters were kind of short.
I really recommend it if you just want some fluff, because you'll get it. It's not just fluff, though, it touches some more serious topics which are well developed, and that elevates it even more.

I've started reading the comic even before it became an official 'webtoons original'!
The story is simply too sweet with incredibly lovable characters and has a wonderfully stunning art style, making everything (and I mean *everything* incredibly visually stunning). And it includes the mvp Emma, who serves as the audiences' point of view (seriously, when you think 'when are they about to kiss', etc. Emma will say it out loud).
Along with the many times that I've laughed out loud, really felt for them in emotional scenes or when I was completely pulled in by the story's unanswered questions, I have absolutely nothing to complain about.

I absolutely love it, it shows real love and the struggles of it all, especially relationships, not only romantically, but also family or friend relationships. It's also nice to see that their sexualities are not this burden to them, and this book makes it there business and not the main issue. Its a loving story, makes you want to read more and I can't wait to see what the creator/author decides to write /draw next...

Overall a really cute read, I enjoyed it. Read it as a webtoon and really want to get my hands on a physical copy somehow simply because I definitely want to come back to it again and again. Kai is such a potent character even when you're in Jasper's POV early on. The way they both are intertwined within their story and call backs come up during the entire journey is amazingly well done. A good pick up between heavy books or to get out of a reading slump, in my opinion!

I first read this story on webtoon but I’m now a proud owner of a hard copy 🤩! The comic is so cute and heartwarming. I am obsessed with the art style and love the characters so much (except Jaspers mom ofc…) I can’t wait to get the rest of the chapters as a paper copy!!! Highly recommend everyone to read it ❤️
