After Melanie Graham awakens in the woods injured and with no memory of what happened, she quickly learns someone wants her dead. Now she must rely on deputy sheriff Luke Baxter to protect her. But while there’s a spark between Melanie and the handsome veteran, they can’t afford a distraction…because if Luke doesn’t stop the mystery assailant soon, it may be too late.
Another great book in the Love Inspired Suspense Series!! This book was about a girl that rode a horse in a Rodeo but than unfortunate events start happening to her and all these memories of past Rodeos come back to her etc.
The Mystery, Suspense and Drama kept me wanting more after each chapter!!
I'm glad Melanie found happiness by the end of the book!! I'll definitely read more by Love Inspired in the future!!
Phew -- that opening scene left me as disoriented as Melanie! Love how events came into focus for me at the same time they did for her. I swear I felt just as dizzy and nauseous. And my sore noggin! I adore being mercilessly pummeled right along with the heroine! :-)
This is an amnesia story with a bit of a different twist in that Melanie doesn't lose all her memory, just about two weeks worth. I had a friend who suffered the same kind of amnesia after a traumatic event and the author realistically developed the full gamut of emotions -- frustrations, fear, anxiety, anger. It was like I was living through it all over again as I tried to support Melanie in her struggle to remember.
And then there's the kind and protective deputy sheriff who is working her case but isn't sure that she's completely innocent. He wrestles with his own kind of frustration as he tries to figure out what happened to Melanie...especially when repeated attacks make it clear her life is in danger. And it doesn't help that he's attracted to her. I do so love a reluctant hero.
Luke appreciates Melanie's fighting spirit but I absolutely loved that sometimes she indulged in a well-deserved meltdown. Because, really, under the same circumstances, wouldn't we all kind of lose it on occasion? So relatable! Oh -- and I also love that she actually feels battered when she is and she follows doctor's orders and indulges in recovery time, because, hellloooo, real heroines feel pain too!
A slow burn suspense that sizzles with a creepy stalkerish vibe and the sweet promise of romance.
A fast-paced novel about a woman who wakes up to discover a head injury lost her two weeks of life. But in those lost two weeks is the clue to why a stalker is after her now...
It’s enjoyable while it lasts but will probably not be all that memorable for me.
My review today is on the Love Inspired Suspense, Lost Rodeo Memories. This is a great read. It is well written, action packed, and full of faith. Jenna does an awesome job on suspense and intrigues. I know you are going to love this one.
Melanie Graham wakes up in the woods with no idea how she got there. The last thing she remembers is going to bed after a rodeo where she had a booth selling her jewelry in Wyoming. Now she finds out that took place two weeks ago. Where has the time gone and who can want to hurt her? Can she trust the deputy to keep her safe? She seems to be drawn to the stranger.
Miles County Deputy Sheriff Luke Baxter is one of the men to find Melanie. Luke is an ex-military man. He returned to Utah to help his brother with his two children when he was left alone. He knows what it's like to wake up after an injury and be confused and disoriented. He wants to help her but it soon is evident that her life is in danger. Can he keep her safe and find the killer?
A journey of two souls trying to navigate their new start in life. Their paths are full of twists and turns. Someone is trying to kill Melanie. They press into their faith in God and handle the things they can all around them. God has a plan for these two; a plan for a hope and a future, a desired outcome. God has a plan for you too, a good plan and not for evil. A plan that is much greater than you ever imagined.
This was a neat book to read. Jenna knows how to make a book a little spooky. I love how she starts the story with Melanie Graham. She writes Melanie with a strength of character I really enjoy. Then there is a deputy sheriff that is Luke Baxter. I love his character. He brings up a issue that alot of us deal with. Its a well written story with a lot of surprises waiting around the corner. What has caused Melanie's problem will surprise you. Its a great book. It has alot of suspense and action in it. Its worth a read. I can't wait for the next book. I'm hoping its Luke's brother that would be a great story.
Grab hold of your seat and hold on for this bucking bronco of a ride. This book grabbed my attention from the first sentence of, “She’s alive! “. Melanie Graham is a strong heroine who also shows her vulnerability when going through traumatic events. The author did a wonderful job of building up the suspense before revealing the stalker. A small book that carries a Big Bang. This is my first read by this author and I was impressed. Definitely recommend for a quick read. I won a copy of this book from the author. The honest review and opinions are my own and were not required.
Lots of suspense and attraction take root in this story. From the very first page, Melanie struggles with lost memories and multiple attempts on her life. I liked that the attraction was there right from the start but that it took time for any action on it, not just because of the circumstances they were in but also because of Luke’s idea of what his life should look like. Full review is at my website.
I received this book complimentary in a giveaway. I was not required to give a review. All of the opinions I have expressed are my own.
I think this book was pretty good . I didn’t get as sucked in as I had hoped I would. Started out good though. Melanie Graham is found in the woods by Deputy sheriff Luke Baxter and she’s unable to remember the last two weeks of her life. The attacks keep happening so Luke is determined to figure out who’s behind it and fast because time is running out for Melanie.
Great suspense, but the ending was just too hasty. Great job leading up to the capture of the guilty party, but the immediate proposal without having the characters date first just made it seem too sappy.
