The most important thing a person has is family. A persons family is supposed to provide unconditional love and support, but this anthology proves that some families are full of snakes. Who Can You Trust contains three He Should’ve Known Better, Sleeping With My Cousin’s Grandmother, and Sleeping With My Aunt’s Husband. Each story is filled with taboo, salacious lies, betrayal, backstabbing, and tons of drama. Three jaw-dropping stories equal one amazing book. You’ll agree that family can be your worst enemy after reading about Dante and Candace, Antoine and Ms. Cat, along with the antics of Princess Ivy versus Aunt Queen.

I really didnt want this book to end. All three stories held my attention from beginning to end.
Story 1: Candi really loved Dante although he showed her countless times that she should move on. She was willing to accept a piece of Dante because she loved him. It was messed up that he was sleeping with her sister but karma got back to him when she exposed him at his anniverasy dinner. I feel bad for his wife although she should have never slept with Dante while him and Candi was together.
Story 2: Now this story was the craizest out of all three. Ms. Cat was a trip but Antonie was obsessed with her even though she let him know there would never be a them. I had a feeling he was behind his wife car accident that took the life of her and their daughter. I also knew he was going to poison his father and remaining daughters but i never would have thought he would attempt to poison Akima. Also didnt expect his mother and father to get remarried. Dude was seriously sick in the head.
Book 3: Ivy caused her aunt so much heartache and pain. I honeslty felt bad for her. I hate that Cal and Nadia did what they did. Nadia should have been mad at Cal for being a dog. Queen didnt deserve anything that happened to her but she was caught in the middle of her niece/daughter bs.
I would highly recommend this book.

Chile… this book was crazy in TRUE Octavia fashion! Each story even crazier than the next. The anniversary dinner… wild! Ms. Cat? Wild! Another crazy read in the books!
The most I can say is "wow" upon coming to the end of each book!
This was so dark, strange, and left no crumbs. There were plenty of times I had to stop and think, "Did I really just read that?" and then remembered this is a fictional story and the mess continues to get messier! Each one was very fast paced and was not shy on the spicy moments..
Book 2: Sleeping with my Cousin's Grandmother may have been my favorite. The twist was super unexpected, and the epilogue left my mouth hanging wide open! Urban fiction is one of my favorite genres, and to discover Octavia Grant with this title was a miracle just falling into my lap. It got me out of a reading slump; the drama stoops to levels that I feel like could only come from Tyler Perry television. You hate all the characters and you're not quite sure who deserves one but there's one thing for sure:
I think by now everyone knows how I feel about O.G. Her mind is crazyyyyyy & unmatched. This book was an anthology so it’s actually 3 books in 1. The 1st book and last book was sooooooooo good. The 2nd book was a bit of a drag for me tho. Overall this was sooooo good.
In all three stories, sex was the common denominator leading to so much betrayal. These characters thought with their bodies instead of their brains. All of the stories had me shaking my head, but the last one, man. Ivy was just straight up stupid. Her betrayal seemed the worse, and she let this fool force her into things she had no business doing. I figured out who Calvin was with and what a freakin' manipulator she was. Just unbelievable. That second story story was too far fetched and having kids pay the price was ultimate betrayal. That one blindsided me for sure. In the first story, Dante was put on public display for his dirt, but Candi had to expose herself to make it happen. Truly a wild and evil collection of stories that will make you second guess all your family members. The book needs editing, though - lots of incomplete sentences and grammatical errors. And why doesn't this author know the difference between 'to' and 'too'? Still, an entertaining read.
WHO NEEDS ENEMIES WITH FAMILY LIKE THIS??!! This novel was great, and all of these short stories will have you shaking your head, as these so called family members stop at nothing to get what they want, including crossing their loved ones. These are some of the most selfish, and crazy people that I’ve ever seen and I loved every bit it of. Several mouth dropping, wtf & omg moments throughout these stories!
Book 1: My Baby Daddy's Betrayal Omg! Octavia you did your thang girl! In spite of a few Grammatical errors this book was "Off the chain good"! These stories have me life!😊 Dante and Candice 's relationship was typical of 2 selfish people never wanting to let go of one another despite the fact that Dante had married someone else. Yolanda was dead wrong for betraying her sister by sleeping with Dante and getting pregnant by him but hey... I guess Dante had that "good good"! But he got his in the end! As the saying goes "he who laughs last last longest"! Book 2: Sleeping With My Cousin's Grandmother: WOW!! This book captured my attention and didn't let go til I was finished! It's full of sex, lies, betrayal and even murder! Antoine said he loves Ms. Cat and he did everything in his power to prove it. SMH@Antoine's greedy and selfish ways. He had a good wife and beautiful family and he didn't appreciate them. He threw it all away for some "Seasoned CAT"! Ms. Cat might've been an older woman but she had everybody and their daddy lusting after her "goodies" . She lost her one true love decades ago and ever since then she didn't care enough about anyone to give them her heart but she gave it all up sexually. You must read this book for the surprise ending!! Book 3: Sleeping With My Aunt's Husband Cal was a real piece of trash! He not only betrayed his wife by sleeping with her niece but also impregnated her, robbed her and murdered her! Ivy was young and dumb and She mistook lust for loyalty. She would do anything for Cal and he not only used her for her body but he also got her booked on drugs. With friends like Nadia who needs enemies? She not only betrayed her best friend but also took part in her murder. All because of her jealousy. Awful! Just plain Awful!
Jawdropping, surprising, entertaining while also being a little scary. This book shows that sometimes family really ain't shit, and you can't trust anyone. I didn't see the betrayal coming in He should've known better, and the big reveal at the end. Candi deserved better. As for I fucked my cousins grandmother, Octavia gives you the jist by the name but not all the juicy bits and pieces that come together and wow I shocked to learn about what Antonine would do to his own family all for a women that kept showing she was for everybody. Although from a young age he was abused, doesn't excuse his behavior. I'm proud of Naomi for being a badass bitch but wish she would've left sooner because Naomi and those babies deserved better. Then we get to Sleeping with my Aunts husband, and I thought I knew what I was getting into but damn I was hoping I was wrong about Nadia, when we kept not getting to see her man I knew something was up. I feel for Queen and not getting her happy life. Princess sadly was steered wrong and taken advantage of and eventually turned into a misguided, selfish person who ended up getting herself killed. Very sad situation that happens in our everyday life. Octavia did a wonderful job making her characters real. The book was wild but so enjoyable.

This anthology was just one that highlights how betrayal, greed and selfishness can ruin your life and those around you. Each story was short and packed a dramatic punch.
book 1 -he should have known better my baby daddy's betrayal Candi & Dante, parents of twins, Dante married Camille and slept with candi's sister, candi exposed his DL life-the ending was delicious book 2- sleeping with my cousins grandmother- ms cat was honest as they come. the men were turned out. she drove them to distraction and antoine to murder his whole family book 3 - sleeping with my aunt's husband ivy betrayed the only person who cared for her and was in turn betrayed by her aunts husband and her best friend

Book 1: I loved the ending and the get back which was hilarious
Book 2: Ms nasty a$$ Cat messed that man’s mind up from thine he was 16 so I believe that’s where is crazy thoughts and actions came from.
Book 3: I was hoping Aunt Queen would have been the one who harmed them. I was hoping Nadia would have told Aunt Queen and they would have walked into a trap. I didn’t see that ending coming.
SHEESHHHH NAH, both stories had me like whoa smh Octavia is always great read. But dangg, both main characters got what they deserved, tbh playing deceitful games never did anybody good. However, I do feel bad for Queen she didn't deserve those cards she was delt. Leave wicked people alone, family included.
Will have you living on an island alone. Divorce your whole family. And Ms. Cat. She can't come near my man, my brother, my sons, heck, my neighbor. She can keep that thang way over there.
This book was 3 books in 1. Each one was good, but sometimes, the simpletons in the stories gave me a damn headache. And Ivy in book 3 was just too stupid and simple for words. I like all the stories tho
These stories was good I enjoyed every story it was refreshing that damn Calvin had all of the women and he was down low a crazy twist and her best friend was fucking her man.
The whole damn book was so good but you see the last story took the cake. I didn’t expect it! That damn Calvin had everybody SHOOK!!!!!! I highly recommend this book! Be prepared for a twisted story.
All three stories were absolutely insane! The last story made me actually sad because aunt queen had been hurt her whole life. The title is perfect and spot on. Excellent job Octavia
This is Amazing! Books one and two were entertaining, but book Three stole the show!!! I couldn't stop reading! I highly recommend this amazing read! Wow!
Every story was entertaining. Loved all the twists and turns. Each ending was a pleasant surprise. Glad I came across this book, the title speaks for itself.
These stories went from one extreme to the next! I promise I wasn’t expecting this ishhhh smh a great read so wild and def WTF type of surprise in each story!!!
From Book 1 to Book 3, I was absolutely floored! I knew I was in for some drama just by the title, but I wasn't prepared for this level of mess! 😂 Book 1 had its moments, but Books 2 and 3? Pure chaos—I was hooked! Sleeping with your cousin's grandmother is one thing, but sleeping with your aunt's husband and claiming him as yours? That's next-level insanity. Antoine, the one messing around with his cousin's grandmother, gave me serious "Dear Vicky" vibes 🥴 This guy eliminated nearly his whole family to be with a woman over 30 years his senior who'd already told him she didn't want him! Delusional isn't even the word Then there's Ivy, who was just asking for it, crossing all lines by sleeping with her aunt's husband. And her shady best friend Nadia? Just as bad! A message to young girls, don't let an older man manipulate you! Octavia, you sure know how to keep us glued to the pages with these messy, twist-filled stories 👏🏾 I love how these short stories are packed with surprises and non-stop drama 🤭
