This book was compelling and creative, and made me not want to put it down! Olivia has been taken to another planet for her own protection, and as she tries to stay alive she uncovers secrets upon secrets within the galaxy. She is an important part of their future, as well as the future of many races. As a visitor from Terra, the forbidden planet, she must keep many things secret, but this only makes people lost their trust in her, making things more dangerous. Once the truth finally comes out, Olivia and her companions must think quickly to figure out what to do to fulfill the oracle, and save the entire galaxy.

This wad so good, fast paced, and had a strong message of acceptance and teamwork that is so important for society!

Project Human by Bea Waters

Such a great read and one that has pulled me out of a severe January reading slump filled with DNFs and boring reads. I really enjoyed Olivia’s story of being a bullied teen to a galactic heroine; think Harry Potter in space.

From a constructive feedback perspective Project Human could have benefitted from a couple of extra chapters to flesh out Rethchen so we could get more of a sense of his evil nature and to help the reader better understand Olivia’s intense fear of him; her only real interaction with him were a few short paragraphs earlier I. The book. Additionally I would have liked to have had a real sense of Olivia state of mind by being suddenly whisked away to a strange new world with many new species as she seemed to take it in her stride.

Project Human is full of unique characters and amazing landscapes of a new world with so much promise for the expected sequel(s). I can’t wait for the next in the series.

I have no idea how to do this story justice. Describing the plot would only mislead potential readers and could not describe the unique elements that make this book what it is. Features: aliens, interstellar travel and communication, advanced technology, self discovery, heroism, sacrifice, differences and the power of unity. Even if traditional science fiction is not your typical genre, I recommend giving this one a shot! Highly recommend for teens.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
A universe where you belong.

This one makes you feel good inside. I struggle more with Sci-Fi than any other genre, and I absolutely loved this story.

Bea Waters has not only created a world, but a universe and a mythology.

The scenery is beautiful, the lore is compelling, and the characters will make you fall in love with them.

Olivia Carpenter is an outcast on Earth but thrives as a friend once given the chance.

The obstacles she is forced to face are numerous, her challenges feel impossible, but the only thing worse than losing is mever trying when there's a chance.

Can she hold it together? Will her enemies win?

Only the secrets of Project Human have those answers.

Maybe I'm biased, but this was a really good book. Personally I can't read science fiction, I just find it boring and all those things, but i loved this book! It really had some fantasy vibes too which is pretty cool. It sort of reminded me of Keeper of the Lost Cities but for an older audience, and a lot more unique ideas? The style of writing was super neat too, the worldbuilding was just so... well thought out. It was always fast paced and never got boring once the action started, and it made me want to find out what happened next. Project Human made me feel almost all the feels, but unfortunately did not make me cry. Only complaint I could ever give this book. Looking forward to book 2, love you Bea!!

Well, this book is brilliant. Sci-Fi isn’t my genre but I know Bea from my writers group and wanted to read her book.

A cleverly told story, with a heroine you can’t help but fall in love with and a sense of place that’s extraordinary. For her first novel this most definitely deserves 5 stars.

Fast paced, easy to read, gripping story. It doesn’t get much better than that!

Project Human whisked me away on an unputdownable interstellar adventure. Following Olivia Carpenter's journey from bullied Earth teen to potential galactic savior, I was immediately hooked by the fast-paced plot and imaginative worldbuilding. Waters' universe is a feast for the imagination, populated with unique alien species and breathtaking landscapes, and I found myself fully invested in Olivia's quest. The themes of acceptance and unity resonated deeply with me yet didn't detract from the thrilling sci-fi aspect.

While I occasionally wished for more exploration of certain characters and Olivia's adjustment to her new reality, Project Human is ultimately a perfect blend of familiar and fresh SFF elements and a wonderful debut!

This story had me sucked in with the first chapter. I love how fast paced it was, and how it always kept me on my toes. Plot twists and chaos were *chef's kiss*! I need to know more, the cliff hanger has me anxious to know how the story progresses in the second installment! Bea is a wonderful story teller, and I can recommend this book enough to anyone that has an interest in sci-fi, or coming of age stories.

Project Human Bea Waters was shortlisted for a New Brunswick Book Award, for good reason. I'll try to avoid spoilers by simply saying that this YA Sci Fi adventure has all the ingredients for a feature film: great character development, reinvented mythology and space travel. Bea's wordcrafting is easy to follow while still sophisticated enough to engage an adult audience. I highly recommend the book to you, and look forward to the sequel.
