Her Protector

Rate this book
When Vikram Maheshwari’s eyes met with hers for the first time, he realized Nitara Sharma was special. Innocent, broken, and in need of protection, he took her under his wings vowing to protect her from the man who had killed her mother and was now thirsty for her blood. She stirred a protective streak inside of him, but he hadn’t counted on falling for the little beauty.

As his best friend’s cousin, she was forbidden to Vikram. It was wrong, but he had never been a man to play by the rules. He wanted her, and he was going to have her, and nothing would stop him from making her his wife, not the man after her life nor his contract marriage to the daughter one of his business associates.

Picked it up on impulse for a light read. A story so typical that hundreds of movies are made around variants of a story like this. It did have a few atypical parts which however were poorly constructed. A short book which you can easily finish in a day.

It is typical indian drama that we indians usually like. The story is about romance, and a little threat, from a suspected person. It is a good one. The girl's character is too naive and innocent which is quite dramatic. The boy is really a saviour for her that's also dramatic. So it's a good story but dramatic too. If you like unreal drama for the sake of enjoyment go for it.

This is the first book I have read by Pooja Gupta. I liked what I read. It is a simple and sweet love story. The simplicity of their love was beautiful. I loved it when Vikram was protective of Nitara. Despite all the complications of their situation, their love bloomed in a most adorable way.
Vikram was willing to do anything to help his best friend. Letting his cousin stay at his place was the least he could do to assure his best friend.
“She can stay there for as long she wants, and trust me, she will be protected.”
Nitara’s world fell apart with the recent events that took place in her life. She was scared. She was going to stay at her cousin’s best friend’s place for her safety. The meeting with Vikram and staying with him was helping to cope with her loss. She was starting to live her life again.
“He might come across insensitive and arrogant at times, but she knew he was a man with a golden heart inside of him.”
Vikram had never seen someone so innocent in his life. Nitara was adorable and he couldn’t resist but protect her with everything he had. He was feeling things that he had never before.
“He’d move heaven and earth to keep her happy.”
Nitara knew Vikram is off-limits for her. For God’s sake, he was married. That was enough reason to keep him away from her. But, the heart can’t seem to understand the concept of ethical or ideal or forbidden. The heart just feels.
“It was forbidden, and the worst part was she didn’t regret falling for him.”
They were both immensely attracted to each other but there were still many things that could be against them. The fact that Vikram was married was just one of them. They both had to sort their personal life first. However, you can’t delay the inevitable for too long. It is bound to happen.
If you want to read a light-hearted and beautiful love story, I will recommend this book to you. It is an amazing read.

The protector and his minx

It's a lovely tale of love. First time I have read a forbidden romance and I had no idea it could be this sweet. The way Vikram protects Nitara and can do anything to keep her away from harm's way is swoon-worthy. Her innocence and kindness sets her apart from the materialistic crowd. They feel things they shouldn't but who doesn't succumb to the forces of love. Their happily ever after is worth every minute spent reading this one. The world might consider their union forbidden but in true senses it isn't because every reason stopping them is brittle since the beginning. A contract marriage that was bound to end and a brother who is beyond understanding when it comes to his sister and best friend then the match is a match made in heaven. Loved it.

A beautifully written age-gap and forbidden love story where a caring, protective man falls deeply for someone he shouldn’t. The romance is both emotional and steamy, filled with tenderness, passion, and heart-melting moments that made more enjoyable.

Curious at every line.. Great ending .. She has described the story line in a way that makes a reader curious to know how the story ends and who will settle with whom.
